  1. Very nice Mark! I also got to spend some time in the studio, but did get to watch a lot World Cup Cricket.
  2. Hope all you fathers had a happy fathers day!! My 2 older girls made cinnamon rolls from scratch and brought that with a nice cup of coffee (breakfast in bed). Had a very relaxing day at home.
  3. Thanks Cookie!! This thread will most likely get lost in the CH. You can put it here: https://discuss.cakewalk.com/index.php?/forum/35-tutorials/
  4. I don't have Mezcal, but do have the original Metal Zone stomp pedal (from the late 80's although I don't use it anymore). Not sure what to make out of Mezcal with that type of advertising.
  5. HZ-2 Heavy Mezcal Going for $6.66 this week (there's also other plugins at a very discounted rate) This plugin emulates an unpopular pedal sold between 1983 and 1991, guilty of giving a nasty personality to a lot of amazing bands from Sweden in 90's. Many people thought this distortion to be one of the worst ever made, except the old school Swedish death metal bands. It's wild and untamed maxed-out distortion is what gave us the "buzzaw" guitar tone. This plug-in IS Old School Swedish Death Metal! HZ-2 plugin includes the classic knob parameters: Level (volume), Color section (Low and High frequencies) and Dist (Gain). This plugin offers the ability to modify Dist from 0 to 10, instead 0-3 and 8-10 from the original pedal, this way the user has more possibilities to add necessary gain without forgetting the classic configuration (all knobs to 10). Like all of our plugins, this is compatible with Win and Mac in VST2, VST3, AU & AAX. https://www.audio-assault.com/heavymezcal.php

    New EZ Keys MIDI

Papa's got a brand new bag ab?
  7. That's exactly how I learned about Cakewalk. Prior to that, I was using Acid Pro (a very early version) and was just playing with loops (late 80's o early 90's)....then I wanted do take it further and Cakewalk was easy to setup/use.
  8. Is 20% off generally the best deal that Sonarworks offers or do they have better sales throughout the year? I'm still on the demo/free version, but will need to get the full version of the Headphone Edition sometime soon. For some reason (short term memory), I could've sworn it was much cheaper than €79.20.
  9. Mine was this 8x8 Gadget Labs Wave 824 and I think I got it somewhere around 2005. The PCI card was connected via a 6ft. 25-pin D-sub connector.

    Pffft....I have a keg of abs (
  11. Good morning Gents!! I see this goat nonsense has been neglected for quite a few days.....we need to get back on track((ing)....NagBapped) and get this train a rollin'
  12. My setup is exactly that....primary is HDMI, secondary is HDMI with a DVI adapter (my graphics card only has 1 HDMI slot). I did try disconnecting the secondary, and even tried the primary on all the different slots....still no luck.
  13. Sorry for the late reply, but I've found out it wasn't the graphics card (although it does have all those symptoms). At some point, I had accidentally hit the VGA button while the monitor is hooked up HDMI....stupid me. The error message I was getting was "No VGA Signal" (DOH!!). Set the monitor back to HDMI and now getting "No HDMI Signal". I tried the usual recommendations of unplugging the power cable/HDMI and leave it unplugged for 10 min etc... to no avail. Tried the internal graphics HDMI slot, switching between different HDMI slots on my graphics card with no luck. Tried 2 different HDMI cables as well. Don't really know why it's not seeing the primary monitor's HDMI (it does see the 2nd monitor which is also HDMI). Of note, the primary monitor works on my older PC via VGA.
  14. Speaking of picks, Brian Walton suggested these Blue Chip Picks: I haven't tried this yet and not sure if I can really justify paying that price for a pick, but it seems to get good reviews. I generally use heavier/thicker picks (much cheaper ones ) and haven't had any issues with wear and tear (can't remember the brand name).
  15. Thanks Everyone!! Had a very happy B'day with the family. Cheers, Mesh
  16. Little know fact: Bill's a prodigy a prodigal son a paradox a very good guitarist.
  17. I think my current card is dying (temps around 71 degrees at normal/higher when gaming and now movies won't play). Also my main monitor (1080p) wasn't working (hooked up via HDMI) while the 2nd monitor is hooked up DVI/HDMI connector (both plugged into my graphics card). At times, I could hear the fan getting louder (especially when playing games). The card is also 6 years old. Any suggestions on a budget graphics card under $200? There are a lot out there and it's a little tough to pick one.I Mostly use it for DAW, movies, light gaming etc...but, would like it to pack a little power.
  18. Fabfilter is also going to use this business model
  19. Is there a music store where you can go and test it out? That way you can see/hear how it works. Before even using an amp sim, it's easy to dial in a nice thick tone with the Axe....then add a sim and you're bound to get a smile on your face.
  20. Whoah!! Not sure if it's even worth the $20, but here's the link: https://splashsound.org/indievoices.html
  21. Where have all the Shagsters gone? DOH, it's hump day...
  22. Interestingly, those are two of my passions.......I'm a jack of all trades, master on none. Clint Martin on the other hand, is very good at both. Haven't seem him around here.
  23. I got the Axe last evening and after spending a brief 30 minutes, I'm very happy with the box. The difference between my 2i4 and the axe is night and day. With the axe, the tones are much more thicker and bolder than the 2i4....it's 'almost' like playing through a real amp. I still have to spend more time with Z-Tone and the interaction with the pickups, but all in all.....I really like this box. Using amp sims like Amplitube4 was a real treat to my ears. Just going through the presets of different collections sounded very good and was easily able to get 'chugging' along. With the 2i4, the sound was always very thin and there was so much tweaking and EQ'ing needed just to get a decent tone. Unfortunately, I only have used lower end audio interfaces to make this comparison, but anyone can easily hear the difference between the two. I'm very happy with this purchase and looking forward to spending more time with my Axe.
