  1. After opening up Kontakt, there are some new libraries which I'm unable to open. When I go into File (top left) and find the library, when clicking on the + sign it doesn't expand the folder (like the other folders do) and can't access the .NKI to open up the instrument.

However, if I go directly to the folder (outside of Kontakt) and click on the .NKI, it opens up Kontakt and the instrument loaded. What are my options to fix this?

    Thanks,

    Mesh

  2. Anyone buy these expansions and your thoughts on them?

I'm on the fence here and thinking of getting one of the smaller versions of TH-U just to get the Choptones expansions. At the same time, the full version of TH-U is about $60 more than the smaller versions and not sure if it's worth it.

    Dilemma, dilemma, dilemma.... B|

  3. I think it's a great idea Jim to build your own as you get to choose all the individual components that suit your budget and there's a great satisfaction in building it yourself. I built my current DAW back in 2013 and it still has all the original parts  and running like a champ (my video card might be going out, but only heats up when playing games). I got all my parts from NewEgg, but Tiger Direct has some really good prices as well.

You can make sure all the parts are compatible using   https://pcpartpicker.com/  and  they also show the best prices from around the net.

I miss my Alesis QS8.1 board. I donated it  to my kids grade school and they ended up not using it much.  ?

Since 1999, I've had this QS7.1 and has served me really well (still in excellent shape)  albeit I only uses it as a midi controller.  Bought it without having any idea of how good or bad  it was....just had the money to spend at the time.

Care to give a preview of what you got? ?

I haven't looked into the license transfers yet, but these are what I'm thinking of:

    1) Realivox Blue
    2) Nomad Factory Integral Studio Pack III
    3) MAutoDynamicEQ
    4) EZ Mix 2 + METAL GUITAR GODS 4 EZMIX PACK & THE MIX TOOLBOX EZMIX PACK
    5) Samplitude Pro3
    6) Ample Sounds Ying/Yang Bass
    7) Waves H-Series Bundle
    8) Maschine Mikro (white)

My brother the programmer wants to downsize his studio, so wants to get rid of his 2 keyboards and buy a small controller.
One is a Korg MS2000 (he said MK2000, but I couldn't find any info on that).
The other is an 88-key (I think) M-Audio controller.
He offered them to me to use, or to sell and split the moolah.
He is the ultimate hobbyist, meaning he might play them a couple of times a year. They are "like new".
I'm going over to check them out later this week, or next after this heat wave breaks.

KVR might be a good place to start and then post that link in the Deals forum. ;)

Heh, Mesh posted another very talented guy over at Beyond My DAW and you could get his entire discography (12 albums plus two singles) for only $22.20 minimum.  I liked what I had heard so I figured, for the price of four micro brews, why not?  (I actually gave him $28 - $2 per release.)

There's some really good music out there that's underpriced IMO!

I'll probably end up with Halcyon too, going to listen to it now and see.  I have a music addiction you know.  ?

Not sure what happened, but I can't access BMD from my workplace....I posted the error message in the FSF here. Can you post the link to that guy?

  8. On a separate note after daily going  into Beyond My Daw site, I'm getting this:

Your PC doesn’t trust this website’s security certificate.

    Error Code: DLG_FLAGS_INVALID_CA

Because this site uses HTTP Strict Transport Security, you can’t continue to this site at this time.

(have no idea what that means 9_9)

This is just Bull Shite!! (just staying on topic.... ;) )

Went ahead and picked this up. Haven't played with it yet. But it does look like it has some features I would like. Watched some of the videos. Looks kinda easy too.

Post back Michael with your thoughts on this and also which of these generator(s) you use the most (I know you have a bunch ;) ).

I'm looking to get Captain Chords next (hopefully on some special deal).

After some releases of RIG packs I must say it. THU was a little underestimated (me including) about improvements from version TH3.

This RIG thing is much more flexible than I expected. Damn, another things to buy...  ?

I used to regularly use TH3 for a lot of my tones and then after getting  Bias FX 2 + Amp 2, been extremely happy with the results.

These RIG packs might bring me back to the Overloud side, but looks like I may have to upgrade to TH-U first...... and yeah another thing to buy. ;)

Waiting for Captain Plugins and Sundog to go on sale (Black Friday maybe?).

    Ozone 9 Advanced.

Also Revalver and Helix Native (if I win the lottery).

We're on a very similar path and those 3 are on top of my list as well. I haven't looked into Revalver, but I believe SoundWise likes it a lot. So, this might be another one for my (growing) list.

Oh yeah, also looking for talent and inspiration...

Ditto. I spent ages with it noodling away via MIDI Guitar. Did the "upgrade from Session" at T&S using my loyalty points to reduce it by 10 GBP ??

Interesting you mentioned MIDI Guitar for this as that's exactly what I'll be doing tonight. ?

Do you use MG inside the Daw or outside via Loop BE?
