Well, here is the bad part. They took Bob off life support on Wednesday, and placed him in hospice, but he is still of this realm. Of course it is a matter of time, but it is anyone's guess of how much time it will be. Strange to wish it would go quickly, but sometimes it doesn't. Thanks Timboalogo, Bob could right a great song. Yes, Jack, but this is all Bob. I have done songs like this in the past, and often worked with Bob on other songs similar to this. Lately though, I have strayed into the avant-garde. Thanks Mark, I did create a file of over 40 songs that Bob created and worked on with our friends over the years and shared it to the group. So yes, he is on the hard drive and I do listen to him often, as well as my other friends. They could really write some ear worms. Thanks Treesha, Bob would have loved to hear your comment. Thanks for listening, Bob would be happy.

https://soundclick.com/share.cfm?id=1537497 Took Mark Skinner's advice and set up a soundclick page for Bob. I uploaded 11 songs that show the talent of Bob Hermes. Some files were from 3rd generation cassette tapes so quality may not be the best. I also updated the link on reckless so the plays go to his account. Here is the link for his page if you want to hear more of Bob. https://www.soundclick.com/bobhermes His name is Bob Hermes. I just said goodbye to him over the phone. But this is not about sympathy for me, it is about this song that he wrote. I think it is a great song. We worked on many songs together over the years, but this is all him. He taught guitar for a living. I often tried to get him to share his work, but he never went all in, so I didn't push it. Now I am sharing this song, and maybe later a few others. Godspeed Robage

I leased the SONAR app when it was on sale for $104. I remember Noel saying that "it doesn't get an cheaper than that," so I took that as a hint. I too prefer a perpetual license. I've been using sonar since before dinosaurs walked the earth. I leased the new program for two reasons, one to show a little love to Bandlab for keeping cakewalk going for all these years, and because I wanted to try the new app out. The Bandlab social site does have a learning curve. I am still in the process of getting the ins and outs. It is also a lot of work if you want to see any movement on the site. It encourages participation, but there is a lot of "noise" as in artists that might only have one song posted. I am not sure I see a lot of value in the bandlab social site for me. I have no illusions that my expressions will propel me to stardom or even generate any new "followers." The only "artists" that are following me are the ones that I followed first, except for mr t, tom deering.? Even if you follow someone it doesn't mean they will listen to your efforts. I can say this, there is a LOT of good music to be had there if you take the time to listen. I can easily learn a new DAW if I choose, and I don't really ever collaborate with anyone so no real need for compatibility though Bapu has outlined ways it can be done. I'm that guy that has thousands of projects, but I mix them all down within a day of recording them, and if cakewalk goes poof or I don't want to continue to lease SONAR, I won't cry any tears or bellow any epithets. I do like the new SONAR, but certainly prefer to buy it at my pace and budget. So time will tell for me, I still have 9 months on the lease, but I will let bandlab know my preference, without getting in to all the chin wagging that goes on in various dramatic posts, or did I just do that?

He wrote some serious music too. He also played with George Harrison. Here is one of his songs. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kinky_Friedman

well, it was a compliment think about driving down the highway in your car. trees, signs, other cars, same old same old for miles and miles think about listening to mainstream radio, the same beats, the same autotune, the same old same old song after song now think about driving down the highway in your car, and all of a sudden you see a massive 5 car pile up and you're like "what the he77 was that!" now think about listening to mainstream radio and a song like this comes on and you're like "what the he77 was that!" it means your different, you stand out, your unique, never the same old same old song after song mile after mile
