Again, crossing my fingers that my recent cross-grade to 5.5.2 will be eligible for a version 6 upgrade grace period. Version 6 and a couple of years of updates would be stellar.

Personus were smart to offer a full 1 month demo of S1 Pro 5. I tried it and yesterday I buckled and got the S1 Pro 5 Crossgrade from Thomann for $209. Hopefully it will include the upgrade to v6. If not, I'll wait for Black Friday upgrade sales.

Is there such a thing as a grace period for getting a free upgrade for a recently purchased version?

I played with a guy who had a 5-string Warwick. Very smooooove sounding.

Considering this has been in development since at least March 2021, I think it's fair to expect some major requested features.

TwelveTone systems' Cakewalk Professional 3 on wine
pbognar replied to MusicInstructor.net's topic in Feedback Loop
I checked out Virtual Box - it's very cool. I was thinking of all the old software which could be brought back to life and then I realized - I'm into making music with best tools possible - why would I even consider going down that rabbit hole? I remember longing to be able to use Logic PC again, but when you look at it objectively, we have it so much easier today, even with free and almost free DAW software available to us.- 32 replies

I have been checking the early release forum daily out of curiosity. Who knows, maybe they have changed the 2 month cadence. Or maybe this one is going to be a biggie.
-
I figured anyone interested in the latest version probably knew where to get it. My bad. (nevermind, I see the error of my ways).

If I had to guess, the larger outside frame is the Cubase graphics container which allows it to be the same for both Mac and Windows
-
This is nice: "With the release of 12.0.10, we also made the Cubase Pro 12 trial available. The big news is that the trial doesn’t require the USB eLicenser anymore. Hence, there is no more reason not to try Cubase."

Off topic... I'm a bit of a synth vsti snob. I'm easily bored with subtractive synthesis with just the 3 basic waveforms. But when I listen to some of the programs which come with the u-He Tyrell N6, I'm blown away by what people are able to come up with, using what seems like a very finite set of components. It's all about programming.

Were you running a portable install off the SD cards or was it just your projects and media on there?

Yes, I remember thinking it was weird when it was originally announced. How would they be able to compete with Mac OS and all their goofy names?

I just happened on this thread. I enjoyed the first Madonna video, but after reading the first page of comments, I'm thinking - "Did I miss something? I didn't see anything about making Madonna laugh". So I rolled through all 5 pages and finally saw this most recent video. I really enjoyed it, but what I'd really like to hear about is the first time you showed Madonna Band-in-a-Box.

Part of the problem is many create a production and a vibe and then try to twist it into a "song". -

Thanks, you know I should probably register. I don't want to miss out on a crossgrade from Mixcraft to Cubase Pro 12 for $189. ? -
I posted this in another thread, but... I've got an unregistered boxed competitive crossgrade to Cubase Pro 10. Do I have the luxury of waiting to see what's in version 12 before I register or should I register now, get 11 on my e-Licenser and then get 12 for free when it is available. Sorry, I'm confused.

Please remind / reassure me again... I've got a boxed unregistered crossgrade to Cubase Pro 10 (with a USB e-Licenser) . If I register it once v12 is available, am I entitled to 12 Pro? Or is there any reason I should be registering ahead of time? -

For the sake of SB's market share (especially with Studio One), they'd better have at least one major OMG feature or UI overhaul. I can't see them getting by with an underwhelming release. Of course, they probably harvested a bunch of version 11 upgrades with the carrot of a "free" version 12 upgrade. -
Once you use this for a bit, you'll want to kick yourself for not buying it sooner. I haven't even come close to mastering it, but it has resulted in me being able to come up with tunes I would never have been able to previously.
