Absoflippinlutely cool sounds. I understand the reference above to Copeland's stuff. I also pick up a little bit of a Devo vibe in the timing and keyboard sound (e.g., Satisfaction). You really have been putting out some interesting, creative and well done work recently. Luv the guitar playing and your vocals are top notch.

Love it Bjorn!!! When my son was young I used to take him to some pow wows (one in St. Pete and one just north of Tampa). They would host some of the dancing, drumming, and chanting at these events (the Seminole Tribe used to serve up some great pumpkin fry bread). The drumming and chanting at these events was almost hypnotic and really attracted me. I appreciated this song as it took me back to some good times with my son. BTW, I can appreciate being stuck on getting songs done. I have recently worked on about 6 different versions of a song and haven't found one that I like yet. I have walked away from it for a while in the hope that when I come back to it --- I can finish it properly. Thanks for posting this.

Hi Wookiee and Nigel. I am commenting to you both at the same time as you both had the same suggestion concerning the delay. I know that i tend to over use delay and reverb. I was trying to emulate some of my favourite surf bands (or bands that do some surf songs), such as the Eliminators, Atlantics, Messur Chups, and one of my newly discovered fav's the Break. They tend to crank up on that echo-like sound. BTW, if anyone is familiar with the Break -- how do they get the bass to sound that way? Well, I went back and listened to this song again and I must say that may have over done it a bit. In particular, I am satisfied with the sound of the guitar panned left but the guitar panned right does intrude on the other sounds. I also thought that I had panned it more to the right but listening to the SoundClick post it sounds like it is almost coming from the middle most of the time. Hey, Wookiee, I will also try and address bumping up the bass pedal on the drums. I'm going to see if I get any more suggestions and then make the fixes and attempt a video. Thanks you. I very much appreciate your input and suggestions.

Well done! This song does indeed capture the spirit of the late 1960's psychedelic sound. That guitar panned hard right certainly personified the 1960's Psyc. guitar.

I have to agree with Starise (above) -- luv the addition of the drums and you are indeed the man when it comes to the synths. However, I do have to be careful in basking in the light of the moon. I always fear that I too will become a bit more furry and that my canine teeth may start to grow (this statement followed by the howl of a wolf). ?

Great start Jon! You have gotten some good advice in the comments above. My only comment would be that there is a lot of competition between the instrumentation and vocals. I am not sure if the female voice is intended to be the lead voice or if this is intended to be more of a group sound. A wee bit of tweeking (EQ'ing and or panning) on this might help. Anyway, good start, great song, and I look forward to hearing the final product. Cheers

Hi Phillip. John Lee Hooker is indeed Chicago Blues by way of the Delta and Detroit. However, the C. Blues are very eclectic including such artists as Muddy Waters, Little Walter, Willie Dixon, Howlin' Wolf, Jimmy Reed, etc. Again, great work on this Delta style song.

I enjoyed this very much. Well done. You certainly have captured the sound of the Delta Blues and the southern Chitlin' Circuit sounds. I have been listening to the other Mississippi guy recently. Mississippi Fred McDowell. He is kind of a transition from the early Delta Blues (acoustic) to the Chicago Blues (electric). I love it all!

You made my morning Jesse. That lead guitar keeps the whole thing going and all the other sounds (including vocals) keep it interesting. I have mentioned the group Gang of Four before but right toward the end that guitar had the GoF feel. Keep 'em coming!

I am certainly not one to comment on mixes but to me it sounded good -- although, on my cheap h-phone the vocals (which were well done) could come up just a wee bit. Impressive song Douglas. The lyrics are very good (luv that chorus). The vocals and harmonies were very nice indeed. Good work on the slide! It has inspired me to try learning this technique on my old 1960's Norma guitar (nice high action that should work well for slide).

Great video Bjorn. The video really captures the moment and your music perfectly fits the video. It is not loud and ominous sounding but almost soft. To me that better fits the matter of factness (that's probably not a word) of nature. I agree with you - it is just the way it its (however, I must admit I was pulling for the goose). I had a professor (a population ecologist) who would always state "... nature doesn't care about individuals but only populations." Impressive work!!!
