[CLOSED] Cakewalk 2020.05 Early Access 1
Lynn Wilson replied to Morten Saether's topic in Early Access Program
I'm wondering if this update is compatible with the latest OVox update. I'm referring to the one that Waves warns CW users not to use. -
Tom, thanks for your kind words! I will make the adjustments you suggest on the next pass. That's what happens when I try to think like a drummer Nigel, thank you for taking the time to listen and reply! Keep up your good work. Yeah, sucks doesn't it?

Newbie question on importing MIDI files into Cakewalk
Lynn Wilson replied to Alun Crewe's question in Q&A
Make sure that you put the MIDI file into a track with a VST on it, and that the VST is routed to an appropriate bus or master output. It won't make a noise if on a channel with no VST. I hope I read your question correctly. -
Working The Paradigm Shift (by The Prodigal Sounds)
Lynn Wilson replied to Colin Nicholls's topic in Songs
Colin, this is one of the very best songs I've heard in a while. Great video to go with the sound track. No crits, just praise! I'll be back. -
Tom, thanks for taking a listen and your kind words. EZ Keys is easy to use, and it took me about 15 minutes to arrange this part. If I had played this, myself, it would have taken about 15 weeks. The flute part is a sample from Dimension Pro played on my Strat through MIDIGuitar 2. Thank you Steve for the encouragement. I especially appreciate your comments on the vox, which I was unsure about.
-
Thanks Douglas! FYI, the lead guitar is my Strat played with an E-Bow going through S-Gear. David, I appreciate your encouraging words! Wookie, thank you for your time and response! Are the lyrics hard to hear because of their content, or because of volume?

Thanks for your good ideas, Harry. I'll take you up on those when I remix.

Hello to all my CW friends. I hope you're all staying healthy and safe and finding some joy in your music. I have just finished a song based on true events, inspired by the Covid-19 virus. It's a song about someone losing a loved one in this battle, though it offers a glimmer of hope in the end. My friend, Roger Fife, played bass on this, but I did the rest with help for the first time from EZ Keys on the piano. I went a little more mainstream than normal, but under the circumstances, I think it was appropriate in this case. I hope you enjoy it and will offer suggestions and advice, as usual. As always, thanks a million for listening and all your help. "Days Gone By" can be found here: https://soundclick.com/r/s8ctxx

I don't know which version I just listened to twice, but I like it a lot. It does seem like your voice has a presence to it that I rarely hear, and I just love it. All I would ask for is a louder guitar solo that stands up to the vocal a tad more, but...it's good to go as is.
-
I love it! More vocals, please!

Bjorn, I'm really impressed by your versatility-I never know what to expect from you. I like where this is going, and the mood you created with this piece. Obviously, there's a lot of details to make a complete chamber piece sound real, but I'd be proud of this if it were mine.
-
Rex, I think your voice married to this would be epic! You have a nice base and medley of synth textures, and they can support a kick-***** bass drum and whatever else you might try. Nice change of pace.

You do Beatles songs as well as anyone I've heard in years. You keep it recognizable, yet you own the song by making it unique. A+

Another brilliant song! I hope you go a long ways.

Though I like both versions, I prefer the acoustic track. They both have a raw, powerful sound, but you recorded the acoustic guitar so well, that it just shines. Keep em coming!
-
You have a very powerful voice which conveys the lyrics very well. I think you've broken a mold here, but who's complaining? Thanks for putting the link to your videos up for view, can't wait to check them out. Kudos!

All that stock I bought in Reynold's and Kaiser is paying off~~~ Thanks for writing this, it may not make up for the lack of face masks, but it helps. Just, don't forget to wear them!
-
I love it, Wookie. Not what I expected, which is why I'm so happy with this. Now I need to turn it up real loud and play it for the rest of the inmates here!
-
Fabulous, Daryl! Now it's time for you to do a video of one of your songs.
-
This song and video are just right for this particular time in history. As Tom said, the drums could have come up a tad, but overall, this is about as good as it gets for this genre. I really was in the mood for this!
-
I don't know about simple, but I like this song, and I think you named it well. I especially like your use of reverb to give it depth and an eerie quality that intrigues me. I don't know anybody who approaches music quite like you do, and I love it!

Excellent cover of one of my favorite SD tunes. You've done a fine job of tackling SD lately, and deserve all the credit in the world for making them your own song. Carry on!

I was lucky enough to see Martin Mull open for Bonnie Raitt when I was in college in the 70's. Besides being enormously funny, he played jazzy guitar at the end of his set, which blew away many people. In fact, he played with Bonnie during her encores and held his own. I'm glad to hear you paying tribute to him through this fine song!

Long live satire!!! Your production is very apropo and I have to listen again. Yeah
