Bravo, that was a quick learn. You did an excellent job on the mix and created something that I'll listen to again. Keep posting!

Mark, this is a fabulous song that seems to transcend Nashville. It could stand as is, or be a starting point. Best of luck to you and thanks for sharing!

I've always liked the way you leave it all out there, and this song does that in spades! I've not heard a song from you that I don't like, so you're on to something. Keep up with the raw energy and passion, I think it's your trademark.

Outstanding! I was mesmerized, as I always am by your offerings. Your skills and taste are beyond reproach, and you raise the bar yet again. Can't wait to listen again.

What they ALL said and more! A great paradigm for all of us.

What the? That not only was short, but sweet, as well.

Philip, this is a pleasant surprise! I love the song and think that it's close to being stellar. The sparseness works well to highlight your voice, as does your hard panning which allows for plenty of space. I think you might have some options in that regard, but that's just a niggle. I wonder if some mandolin might work somewhere in the song to give it some "glue", so to speak. Again, just a minor niggle. All in all, very impressive, and I look forward to hearing more from you.

You might convert some people with this. This is one of the better metal recordings I've heard in a while. A good example of what could be.

What a cool song. The acoustic sounded like it was right in front of me, and your voice is stellar. I would personally like to hear it a tad warmer, like a couple of db's in the 300 - 440 hz range, but not much. All in all, this is one that I'll listen to again for fun.

"Tongue Depressor Symphony" (with video) - mix ideas??
Lynn Wilson replied to PhonoBrainer's topic in Songs
Wow, I wish that I had thought of this, myself. A very clever video to go with a very clever song and arrangement. Keep it up! -
Beautiful song, Bjorn! I don't think I remember it, but I really like the sentiment. I just wrote a passing of the torch kind of song, so I guess it's going around. Nice mix.

Jesse, this is terrific!! I like it on all levels and look forward to your next project.
-
Ed, thanks for taking the time to listen and your input! I tend to agree with you and will address this on the next pass. Stay healthy and safe!

If you are trying for a live feel; when I closed my eyes, it felt like you were right in front of me. This is a winner on any level! Keep up the good work.

What a terrific song and a good way to start my day! Freddy, I've been meaning to ask you what mic do you use to record your voice. You have such a resonant voice that I'm surprised that you aren't doing voice-overs for commercials and the like. What I really like about this song is your ability to tell a story that most of us can relate to. I'll be listening to the rest of your songs over the next few days because they always put me in a good mood. Hang in there, pal!!!

Very clever, chaps! I think George would have liked this, too. Carry on!

Let The Son Shine Down On Me - Joshua Barnes
Lynn Wilson replied to Ruralrocker2010's topic in Songs
Joshua, it's good to hear from you again. This is a solid song, and your voice seems as strong as ever. As Tom noted above, it's just a bit short of excellence right now, but a little massaging would make this stellar. The arrangement is good, and that may be your strength. I'll always be grateful in your help in arranging my song "The Devil's In My House", which helped quite a bit. If you're still in the KC area, I'm still here, too. Hope you and your family are doing well! -
Thank you, Freddy, your words are very kind and welcome. Stay healthy and productive, my friend!!!
-
This is a terrific song! A few, simple adjustments and this will be stellar. Good job
-
Thank you, Bjorn. Your words mean a lot to me! Makke, thanks for your time. Keep up the good work!

I really like this cool, upbeat song! The mix is clean and wide, and everything is in its place. You have a terrific voice which conveys your message very well. In fact, I like it so much that I think that you could mix the vocals a db or two louder to make this larger than life. Keep us posted!

Steve, this is very special and unique at the same time. I like the way you think out of the box, and I find it very educational. I'm gonna have to jump back into this song a few more times to grok the coolness of the arrangement. Stay busy and healthy!

Great song, great mix! You'd be welcome in Kansas City.

It's been a while since I studied the various modes (modalities?) that are around, but this is like a roller coaster ride through several of them. It all makes sense to me, and this is quite a production. I wonder what a wider dynamic range between the parts would sound like. Well, maybe not. Gotta listen some more, good job!

As I was listening to this at low volume, I was impressed with the wide stereo field that was so full and balanced. Yet, I was reaching for the low end after a while though it certainly wasn't a distraction in any way. The song itself is beautiful and has a spiritual quality to it that is very magnetic. Congrats!
