  1. Jonathan - Not what I wanted to here, but thanks for letting me know. At least I know I'm not clicking something weird. Thanks for looking into it, there is so much potential in Aux Track / Track Template combination! Promidi - Thanks for trying to help. I'm on the latest version. Max Arwood
  2. Is there something I should know about using Aux tracks in track templates? I made a Snare Aux for the 3 snare outs of Superior 3. I also made a kick aux with the 3 kick outs from SD3 put in a few plugins etc. I saved this as a track template. Everything comes back as expected - except the aux's don't talk to the tracks any more. I tried to reconnect them. Nothing seems to work to make them recognize their connections. Anything I should know about trying to do this? Thanks for any help, Max Arwood
  3. Nice to check back here in songs. Glad yours was on the top of the list. Great sounding stuff Kenny! Ive missed listening for a while. I had fun listening to your song tonight. I’ll bet you had fun putting all this together too. Good stuff!! Max Arwood
  4. Thanks for all the great suggestions. Trying them out a few at a time. Someone in another newsgroup mentioned U-He Presswerk. I down loaded the demo and it is a great sounding compressor with saturation. If you think of more please share you favorites.
  5. Saturation plugin- I have several I like, but always looking for something different. I like Kramer HLS modeled after Helios console channels - I wish I could control the saturation. It sounds great, but sometimes it is too strong. I like the LA3A VSTs - but again I wish I just had the saturation from this. Slightly controllable by varying the drive. My USR does not work any more - when I went 64 bit it was not compatible. I have fabfilter Saturn - Its not that good for light saturation. I use Kramer Pie from drums mostly - very strong saturation. Slightly controllable by varying the drive. Modeled after the Pye Telecom Compressor I use PSP vintage warmer - mostly on drums. You can adjust this by drive and fat mode switch. I also have Fairchild compressor VSTs 660 670 and some Pultec Vsts, SSL vsts - never used these much. So..... What are some of you favorite vintage or other Saturation VSts? What do you like to use them on?
  6. Wow that does look nice. I did something like this. I added a little noise, mixed bugs, cars passing by etc. Then clean quiet and close response inside. The small church one looked good, but any room response would be fine. Just pick a few middle to small ones and ear test them.
  7. KVRaudio.com Just look for the free instrument tab on top. You have to get an account before you can download files. The account is free too. There are 63 pages and 20 free synths per page! That should keep you busy for a couple of days ? Look at the ratings - that should save you a few days!
  8. Ok what does SIRI know about music stuff! Lost parameter is what she Meant to type. At least it was it anything rude or ridiculous Lol!!
  9. On Topic (: - I have been working with Noel for a while on the Waves - lost perimeters. I have been randomly losing plugin settings for about 2 years! No rhyme or reason why. It is now a pure joy not to have to save the file every 5 min and worry if the plugin perimeters would be recalled. I am so grateful to have this fix. I received emails all hours of the night from Noel as he worked on this bug. I'm pretty sure many of the email weren't sent between 9-5 I realize it only affected a few users, but I am one of those. There was also a Pro Q3 lost envelope that happened sometime that seemed to get fixed as well. Thanks! Now - back to making some music!
  10. Did you say waves plugin - Rbass - Overtones of the sound input - Boost low without the volume or taking space from mix. Low Air - 1 octave down Submarine - 1&2 octaves down Any Vintage Compressor - CLA3a (Always recommended on Gearsluts), Pie (My 2 favorite -They accentuate harmonics) CLA Bass - Works well on Kick You were kiddingabout waves right? LOL 808 type synths Free - Bass professor MK II (Written for Bass Guitar - Works great on Kick) - Try it on bass too - Lot of controls Kick 2 VST is nice Max Arwood
  11. Looking . . . . . did not see any anomalies. What is a category? Some are 9 some are 1 some 0 CLSID looks to be an assigned "computer type" name so what is CLSIDMD5? Thanks -
  12. OK - what would be a good editor (free)? Is Microsoft XML notepad ok?
  13. It is the file that has you custom plug-in layouts. Looked with Notpad++ - one long string of data! Not much to look at the way. "C:\Users\"your name"\AppData\Roaming\Cakewalk\Cakewalk Core\Plug-in Menu Layouts"
  14. Is there any way to debug a PGL file? There are glitches in mine. Some synths are not showing up. Also is the instrument file separate? I see many of my VST plugins in the VSTIi synth/instrument section. I have made a small new one just test - it is just fine. I have spent a ton of time sorting and arranging the old versions. So much that I make 3 copies every time there is a change. I would hate to have to start over. The count is about 400. I guess that is a medium amount? Thanks for any help. Max Arwood
  15. No these are like MainStage for PC. To use your soft synths live
  16. You could also Download Cantabile 3 - The free version Or demo of Blue Cat's PatchWork - Both of these are great - My preference would be Blue Cat's PatchWork - Even though I play around with both. Then you could create your favorite patches with Keyscape / Omnisphere - or any stack of virtual instruments that you already own. You can also get pads from "That worship sounds" https://thatworshipsound.com Worship Essentials for Omnisphere 1,2,3 - These are close to some of the mainstage patches/pads. Max Arwood
  17. Thanks for BounceBufSizeMsec. Got to check this SD3 seems to cause it or could be just the extra tracks. I get them in the middle sometimes when the project is loaded with fx. Hope this helps.
  18. Yea waves central would probably just put all that stuff back if you needed it. I know what you about needing some space. Don’t know where it all goes lol. Going going gone!
  19. Sweetwater is the best current price, not too bad for a nice orchestra plugin It works well with Cakewalk. Instruments samples are nice and load rather quickly. Max Arwood
  20. It's funny - The most powerful new feature and I didn't even know about it either! - I guess I'll spend the weekend looking for the Scheps Omni Channel's second De-Esser LOL! And Q3 can show EQ' and FFT graphs of several tracks to help find frequency overloads. Haven't gotten to that either! Wish I had time to learn everything about a bunch of plugins! Max Arwood
  21. Delete the waves folder or better copy it to a flash drive in case you might use them one day. The software part does not take up much room. Max Arwood
  22. Fabfilter Q3 Is phenomenal for catching weird stuff like that too. For many months I just thought it was a really nice EQ. I watched a video the other day and found the built In Compressor. It is a tiny ring behind the frequency. De-ess / compress any frequency with Q control and watch the graph to see the frequency and amount of reduction. You can set up as many de-essers as you want! You can also Eq that same frequency. Can’t believe I missed this. Now I got to go find the second de-esser you mentioned in Omni-channel lol! I love all the waves stuff! Great prices.
  23. Gullfoss 1.4 just released. Gotta go look to see what this version has to offer. Max Arwood
  24. IMHO - iLok or flash drive or cloud are the only way to use waves - and Backup. Licenses - Wait till they all expire. They can all be updated for a fixed Max price $240.00 If you have a bunch of waves plugins its not too bad. You don't have to upgrade anyway. I'm a waves guy lol! Great plugins for a good price (only buy during sales)
