Right! I listened (a couple of turns maybe more ? ) I am a reader of words and I love (if that's right, given the sadness and seemingly hopeless message ) what you have put down in your music, for me, it seems unfinished, and I also feel that I can't offer a crit to help ... just that something is missing .. certainly not the verse, but in the whole piece somehow.. maybe the high hat could come down a bit and bass drum up, to carry the tune through , the continuous drone of the pad is great ( John Lennon's 'I'm only dreaming ' comes to mind) .. for me you have a real feel for the message and skipped your skill as a musician, in some way. Never the less it is a great piece and worthy of a little more time ..instrumentally ... plus! "where's the lyrics!"? LOL All the best Steve

Hi Bjorn, I also get a bit of G/G in this piece, but it brings to mind 'The good the bad and the ugly' sound track ...dunno why ... However your getting really good at musical communication , where one sound counters another .. and so on. I really am a fan of your work ... but where's the vid? LOL ATB Steve

Hello m8, Well this is bloody good ... I waited to the end to find the kitchen sink ... everything else sounds like it's been thrown in ... but you know I love to read the words, but you tease ... you tease, bad boy ... I love your stuff and don't comment enough ( although my best friend and wife has been jumping from stone to stone with different health probs .. last one being a heart attack ... but she reads and I write and review so we get by .. my last 'client' being my grandson! LOL ) Give me words man ! .... Oh and BTW this one is IMO a great one ( Needs a little L&A) but a great start ... Stay well my friend and keep up the great work ! Steve

As said, I think we all feel the world is a very hard place at the moment and your message resonates with me. I know when you can't sing a song you've written how you want to can be extremely frustrating. This is a well written song in my view and so thanks for the post. Just something to hold in mind is that there are times when writing you try too hard to sing the message you want to convey ... in any case this is a great bit of work. ATB Steve

I know when we were in conversation some time ago while PM'ing, you made clear that even then you were having difficulties. I feel for you, as this must have been hard ... very hard, but my hope is that here you have a soft place to land and understood, pouring that into your music. Been doing my homework and, cutting a long one, I think the master track has that pro feel that we have come to accept, as said it's a refresher to hear another language and it's a sweet song mixed well .. boy have you come a long way mate ... love it ! ATB and happy new year Steve

I lived there for around 20 odd years in the 50s till we moved to a place called Upper Norwood, then Crystal Palace ..then eventually here in Westward Ho! ... Have to laugh mate, you say if you if you considered moving back to London you would need to learn a lot of languages .... but I'd say you need to have a lot of money first ... and I mean lots ? Yes there are timing issues with the song as Andy noticed, and your right about the arrangement Nigel, in that it is a long song and the interest, musically speaking, can be boring ... I wrote these lyrics to play out my childhood and I'm afraid I didn't give the time I should have to the arrangement, having spent most of it on the video, but I have to accept your point ..although you say you liked ,it and that means a lot ?. I still call myself a Londoner although I now live in N Devon. I went back to my old childhood house in Brixton some years back with my wife and we were shocked at the changes. We lived in Gresham Rd back in the day, and we felt at home, spoke to a few old guys who knew Bowie and a bit of history, and maybe because we had lived there many years ago we didn't feel out of place, but the London we knew was gone, yep all the old stuff was there The Tower, Buck Palace Whitehall etc, shops and markets but it's lost it's soul which, I think, any Londoner who lived there years ago would say .... and so I wrote this when we got back ...the comment Tim made (The dreamy style lends itself to a nice reflective feel almost as if I were reliving someone else's childhood ) is, to say the least, profound ?Thankyou for taking the time to listen. You are so right about the hang ups of working apart, There is a muso over the pond and one in France I've tried a collab with but it's slow and unproductive ( I'm UK ) ...yep it works I know ( you only have to listen to Bapu's ex stuff to know that !) . Sometimes someone else has a take on lyrics that can be better that what you initially were thinking and the whole song takes a different turn .... I think if she has not been in a studio it might be better to chat over a cuppa ... studios can be daunting even smaller ones like mine ... look forward to the result , Good luck Steve

Agreed I also thought the vox was a little hot in places but when I attempted to rectify, I found it lost the intimacy so I decided to leave well alone ... good call though ? Glad you liked it and thankyou for the comment and listening. Steve
