Sorry my old friend .. this does not gel in my mind .. not something I feel is really up to anything but soundscape and various vid images .. I love the idea of the elderly man and dreaming of his life as it passes though his mind ... the girl on the beach, his love .. the little boy with his dad ..and various shots of life as he dreams .. but there seems to be little cohesion ... I love your work and it pains me to give crits but ... I feel you know me well enough to give an honest opinion .. but who am I to criticize ?? ATB Steve

Hi Lynn, Been waiting for you to update us as to what's new .. and. The overall mix IMO is really good, I was distracted by the excellent vid work .. what the hell are you using? the sinc is perfect and I think if I lived in the 60s ( I did by the way ... and the 50s for that matter ) I would have wondered if the devil actually helped you ... This works sums up your talent in song writing and vid work ... for me it comes in at 10 ! ATB Steve ?

Steve, what did you like better on the first mix? I split the screen in the studio and played both versions side by side ( not at the same time LOL ) taking each section from one and then comparing it with the other I think I prefer the 1st mix over the 2nd for quite a few reasons. The 'feel' is a little more 'in your face' as if your in the best chair in the night club.... this I my opinion is due to it having a bit more compression and the drums a little more, lets say crisp including the sax . the fills are a good addition and it's a strange thing as you say you fattened the bass a little in the 2nd V ?, .. . It's just a personal thing though as in both versions the mix is excellent with, have to say, little difference, so it's not a criticism of the second variation .. just that I would have mixed it with the original take as done ... Still a bloody good bit of work !! ATB Steve

I agree with Nigel.. really all of the comments .. a well thought out instro, but for me it lends itself to swimming with dolphins ... ( maybe I should put some water with LOL ) ? Anyway great work ! ATB Steve

Firstly IMO it's a really great song .. I think I could listen to your work all day long and still not have enough, you have a unique talent and although this is not your usual vibe , I think you nailed it .. it's got a bit of Peter Gabriel in there and so to take that as a crit I feel the vocal should be a lot more prominent ... great stuff mate ATB Steve (SRM)

Bit late but /...... .just found this gem ? Fantastic vox and Dting but the vocal meter is f a r too slow for the feeling of this work, ... it leaves one hanging too long the next line which in turn leaves the listener a bit frustrated ... not to take away your approach to a really lovely piece of work and the words , but for me I wish you had pushed it a bit ... so as to make the message more about what the listener needs to hear and not so much about the song ... I had the original Sonar 4 ,5 up to Plat ...I knew everything about it but complained to this very forum ( bloody years ago ) that absolutely no-one or DAW mags seemed to take it seriously. Whenever you read about up new coming plugs you were given several DAW examples but SONAR PLATINUM was never one of them. I absolutely thought ( and still do ) Sonar plat was one of the best out there ... I loved the old forum ( when Babu was only 16 Just joshing ) and it was a family of song writers and composers of all levels .... No company comes close to the feeling this place gives you ... good or bad. When it was sold I reluctantly moved on to a very expensive CB (now12pro) and it never and still doesn't have that feel about it ... kind of cold, although an amazing DAW for film, music composition and production, I still use my old Sonar plat or Bandlab DAW as first write ...like an old friend waiting to help with your song ... My point is that there was always gonna be a move to the PRO 'buy this DAW' market eventually, so as to gain respect with the big boys ... I think pricing will be favorable, so lets see if those of us that paid a LOT in the day for our Plat version get a good result ... I'm gonna bail out before the flames burn my arXse Tallyhooo oooo
