  1. I didn't think you were, I just will say I actually PREFER amp sims these days compared to traditional amps. That said, I have been super fond of the Roland JC-40 lately though.
  2. I think if you can find inspirational sounds in the box, why is it any different than outside? If you(and by you I mean anyone) are going to constantly compare to "what you had" or "what you're used to", the only one "in the box" is you IMO. YMMV
  3. Amen. I occasionally like to play out, just to prove to myself (and sometimes others) I have the chops. But I don't have a desire to be an "entertainer" per say. I'd rather create at home by my lonesome.
  4. @57Gregy if you hover over the link, you'll see it is NOT samash.com - always hover over the link and you'll get the real address.
  5. Great video! I was overwhelmed by Kodi Lee's performance as well, and I believe it comes down being reminded that the gifts some may have are not visible, but yet amazing. We sometimes judge the book by it's cover, and then are shocked when we open the pages. We all do it at some point, and then we get reminded we should not judge that book by the cover. Kodi was allowed to use a Simon & Garfunkel song ( Bridge Over Troubled Waters) ....and they do NOT give permission very often at all, and it was amazing.
  6. Some inventory may be sold off, but anything in the store (or at least the one near me) was marked down. You can't help it if someone only bought something @ 10% off versus 30% ...which happened lot at my store. But secret hack if you want a good deal (and you'd have to sign up for an account at Sam Ash): go on to the chat and ask about the item you want - they will give you a much better price. I did this with an item, and they gave me a substantial amount off. YMMV
  7. Unfortunately, I have credit with a chain that is going out of business. The biggest thing I think I'd like is MIDI keyboard ...so what works best Cakewalk/Sonar and possibly an DAW I may use. Basically meaning the most compatible with all DAWS. Polyphonic aftertouch seems like useful feature. But any feedback is appreciated. Also, what kind of "little" things for a studio might be a good grab? Thanks in advance.
  8. Danny Lopresto and this band do a great job of KISS tunes without the schtick. They are well done! @Rain
  9. As a recovered Kiss Acolyte, they really just took the lyrics in whole with some of the meoldy and totally redid it musically. It is fine on it's own, but didn't gve me the wow of Cash's Hurt. They are super talented folks, so I'm not knocking them.
  10. Being from South Jersey, I realize if I never heard of a place, it is most likely North Jersey
  11. Sad to see this ...especially since one was across from my office. All the folks losing their income and other options for gear ...all around a bad situation.
  12. I was going to do it to already mastered material, not sync it in any form or fashion. Really just to get the feel of it and explore.
  13. Looking to mess around with video with my music. Also may do a funny video for my mom's birthday. Just wanted to dabble. Where do go? What do you use?
  14. I left in 1995, and while I'll never say NEVER, odds are infinitesimally low. The money I'd lose is profound going back there, and bluntly, not worth it for me. YMMV
  15. I started drinking coffee with milk and sugar, and that always diffused any reflux. I confirmed this recently by skipping milk or creamer for 2 days. My coffee cups have no stains because 've always had at least milk/half & half, so I know tht helps. That said, I always partake in ACV! But I don't have had coffee plenty of times without ACV to consider it a fact for me. YMMV.
  16. I think, for some, if the rules get ingrained too much, they seem hard to break just from observation.
  17. I do think sometimes, the "rules" can box some folks in ...in other words, very rigidly trained musicians tend to be more beholden to rules than people who don't know any better. I am thinking of someone like Tori Amos, who had chops very early on; her heart led her away from classical training as she wanted to do her own thing.
  18. Hence my example above! EXACTLY what Cocteau Twins did!
  19. Cocteau Twins are a perfect example of good(IMO) melodies with absolute jibberish in terms of words. I was enthralled by their album Four-Calendar Café because the melodies were haunting, but I could not disseminate words.
