  1. Glad to help. I meant that the more I pushed the VX the more I think I heard the sound of the file itself slightly altered. It wasn't anything radical and in full mix would probably be inaudible, but I do think I heard it. The Goyo didn't seem to do that.
  2. I've got the Waves Clarity VX (the one knob one) and just downloaded the Goyo. So far I've only tested it on one really noisy file, but it seems to me that the Goyo doesn't change the sound of the file as much as the Clarity VX (not that the VX changes it much, but I think I can hear a bit) and the Goyo has somewhat more control in that you can remove the ambiance and the reverb separately. Just to see what would happen I dropped them both on the same file and as a team they did a remarkable job of cleaning it up. Depending on what the Goyo sells for I'd be tempted to use it more just because of the added flexibility.
  3. We're glad you're back safe and sound! I would leave town too if I had a three day power outage in the summer. I live about an hour from Memphis and it's a neat place. Lots of great music there of all styles and the blues still gets a major nod on Beale Street. I'm glad you had fun and got to experience some southern hospitality.
  4. Setup is an absolute breeze. You drop it on the track you want to duck. Open the plugin and choose the track you want to drive the ducking from a drop down list then adjust the effect knob on Trackspacer until you get the sound you want. Piece of cake!
  5. I downloaded this, and for a freebie it's quite nice.
  6. I seem to remember that about eight or nine years ago there was a shootout on this forum between different mastering services. As best as I recall the winner was a professional mastering engineer, but only by a nose. I think second place went to an automatic service (maybe it was landr?). Does anyone else remember this and might be able to provide better details or more correct information?
  7. I always get a bit nervous when Larry goes radio-silent. He usually gives us a heads up before he takes a break. I hope all is well with you.
  8. Here's another warning sign I noticed: when you confront the afflicted about their problem and they shout, "Just one more, then I'll stop. I'll never get another, I promise!"
  9. I try to support the little guy as often as I can, but on this other hand, this is the number one reason I think twice about buying from them. I seem to remember that someone was working on a free Kontakt alternative that any developer could access. If that would catch on it might be one way to help the little guy gain a better share in the market.
  10. You've posted a lot of software by obscure developers, but GrumpyMonkey takes the cake! How in the world do you know about these people??
  11. I don't need this, I have all the Leslies I need. I don't need this, I have all the Leslies I need. I don't need this, I have all the Leslies I need. I don't need this, I have all the Leslies I need. Help me people, help me!!
  12. I've been cutting back on plugins in general not because of the economy, but because I have tons I don't use. So, the economy isn't directly affecting my decision, but it would definitely be a factor if there were more plugins I wanted to buy. As I think about it, maybe the one person who should respond to this post is the plugin king himself, @Bapu The rest of us on this forum stand humbled before him!
  13. The timing on this sale was perfect! I was just getting ready to pull the trigger on Smart EQ3 for $129 and here it is for $66! Thanks posting this one, larry.
  14. Coming here is sort of like saying, "I'm going to keep digging this hole until I get to the bottom of it."
  15. They seem to have quite a few EQ emulations. A demo is available https://www.kvraudio.com/developer/red-rock-sound
  16. This is great news. It's good to know he's ok. Hopefully, he'll respond.
  17. This thread was tremendously helpful. It appears as though Ralph is still with us, but he doesn't seem to be actively involved in JS.
  18. Hey Folks: I was working with jamstix today and realized it hasn't been updated in years. Has Ray given up on it? Are there plans for any new developments? I always thought it was a powerful piece of software and hate to see it simply fade away if that is what's happening.
  19. I just checked and it's only €19 or $20.71. And yesterday I said to myself, "No more plugins". But it's "only" $20.71. I've GOT to stop visiting this page.
  20. I bought the limiter a few weeks ago and I think I paid $49, so this is a great price indeed.
  21. There is a lot of other neat free stuff on this page that well-worth a look.
  22. Maybe the question we should is asking is are they edible?
