I got it during the last sale.  It seems to do a good job of testing your hearing.  Is the test as good as going to an audiologist?  Probably not, but I'm guessing it does a decent job of letting you know where your hearing issues are.  I was relieved to discover I wasn't as deaf as I thought.  You drop it on the end of your plugin chain (usually on the master buss) and it adds an inverse curve of what your hearing loss is.  It let me see I was adding a bit too much top end to my mixes to compensate for my loss there.  IMHO it was worth $29.

So if that's the case, they're probably still better than IK, UA, Softube, etc. in that regard, but leave lot to be improved.. that and they gave everyone with perpetual licenses the middle finger by trying to go subscription only, which meant that users who didn't pay an ongoing fee would never be able to WUP again..

I still haven't gotten over that one.  Maybe one day I'll make peace with them again, but as for now they are definitely on the "No-Fly" list.

ST4 for a buck is an astonishing deal!   I guess we can safely say it's a no brainer for any fence-sitters out there.  Adding Sampletron 2, Syntronik 2, Miroslav Philharmonik 2 for another $28 still covers the no brainer territory well.

Either the uptake wasn't as expected or they've been a little deceitful in wanting to get people's emails on their system.

They also dropped a V2 for their Mandolin which owners of version 1 can download for free.

The demo was very impressive.   Indiginus does some really quality work and I find all their instruments to be excellent.  They have very competitive pricing to boot.

I'm thinking you're right.  Not quite the surprise I was hoping for, but at least it indicates that AD2 is still in some type of development.   Maybe one day we may actually see a version 3.
