Don't know if it applies here, but IIRC, I was able to get the GarageBand files onto a Mac/GarageBand, then was able to export the audio files from there, then had to find a DAW that could import the GB formatted file type (AIF I think) and convert it to a WAV file. I think I used Reaper for this step. (?) I was happy enough to be able to decode the GB files. I didn't even try to get the MIDI information. Maybe GeoShred is a little friendlier than GarageBand with exporting your data so you can actually use it on non-Apple systems?

This may be a dumb question, but how do you guys get your files OFF the iPad? I started in Garage Band there years ago, had a blast, then went through all sorts of gyrations just to get the audio files off the iPad and into a DAW on Windows so I could work with them. That was the last time i used the iPad for music.

This one is pretty decent! ?

Yeah, it's kind of curious why they would charge for it. I can imagine support is pretty fed up with questions. I'd write and ask them about it. It worked for me.

Quite a few guys on the mix forum I frequent are on S1 and turn out kick-***** mixes regularly using Izotope plugins. No telling what's up, but it's not S1 or Izotope.

To be clear, so you DID get an Education Discount AND a 1/2 off sale?

Nevermind, I just found this: https://www.fabfilter.com/forum/6285/discounts-stacking?replies=3 The last reply on that page: Trying to save my kid some $$. Oh well, 50% is very generous though!

Does anyone know if FabFilter allows a student discount on top of a sale price? i.e. during Black Friday? And how much does FF usually put them on sale for?

You should be able to. Just try one and see. And don't forget, it's 20% off e-v-e-r-y-t-h-i-n-g you are purchasing too! The MEssentialsFXBundle is a great place to start if you want to get a real jump start. It's got some of the plugins that I use all of the time...

Sorry Chris, didn't mean to be "cryptic" - just piling on with the WUP bashing.

Yes, there is a learning curve with ALL of the Melda things, but they are very deep plugins and instruments. From over on KVR, Mr. Melda replied to a question:

...and PLENTY of things getting fixed, improved AND added continually! Thanks Melda!

Ding ding ding! We have a winner folks!

Just a guess, but I'm guessing there would need to be some sort of "Drummer Instrument" instrument made up for the MSoundFactoryPlayer to work. Like the Monastery Grand.

I think it's got an "updated" version number... No I haven't installed either of them yet.

It's a good one Mesh....highly recommend it.

Another one the that's been sitting in my cart. I may not be able to wait in this one though. I love Tube Modulator by them...

Dunno, but I like the built-in Drive and Bias knobs. Was going to demo it and check it out. They also have a Filter Grizzly freebie on their site... https://www.resonance-sound.com/product/cfa-sound-filter-grizzly-2/ Nice GUI though, it's sitting in my cart waiting for the next FREEBIE.

I haven't tried the delay yet, but just used Magic Switch on a mix. +1

The best marketing is a good demo of the product - and a DAMN fine demo in this case! Congrats to the IK team for a great quality product. ...It almost makes me want to sift through all of the IK Amplitude stuff I do own to see how good the few I DO own sound. (Yes, that is a jab at the over burdensome UI, but definitely NOT the quality of the product! ? )

(bump. ) Guys, don't let the price fool you. This is a really Really REALLY GOOD plugin! I'd put the distortion up there with Kush, SoundToys and Nembrini - then the filters put it over the top! Thanks so much Tomislav! Very well done.

Thanks Lars - and welcome back!
