Yes, there is a learning curve with ALL of the Melda things, but they are very deep plugins and instruments. From over on KVR, Mr. Melda replied to a question:

The best marketing is a good demo of the product - and a DAMN fine demo in this case! Congrats to the IK team for a great quality product. ...It almost makes me want to sift through all of the IK Amplitude stuff I do own to see how good the few I DO own sound. (Yes, that is a jab at the over burdensome UI, but definitely NOT the quality of the product! ? )

(bump. ) Guys, don't let the price fool you. This is a really Really REALLY GOOD plugin! I'd put the distortion up there with Kush, SoundToys and Nembrini - then the filters put it over the top! Thanks so much Tomislav! Very well done.

Wow! That was a LOT of $$ 14 years ago too! Things sure do change. I was going through stuff last night and figured out I've only been at this "DAW stuff" for about 5 years now. I was only ever on SonarLE for a few months before I made the switch to Studio One. (I'm an admitted S1 fanboy too.) But if I were starting today, no doubt I'd be on CakeWalk. It's insane that this DAW is FREE! That's the deal of the century right there.

I got it the same way as everyone else. Support is probably overwhelmed with all the Mega-$20+$20 sale emails like yours. PA support has always been great. Just give them a chance.
