  1. I'm definitely going to play with this one some more. PS. Excellent UI!
  2. For the record, while I get the point of "why post this here?", I don't really frequent the other sections of the CW forum or VI Control, so I would never have ever known about these videos if Reid hadn't posted this thread, and I am glad he did. They are interesting and well told stories and a nice change of pace. He has never abused the forum and is an active and frequent contributor here. To the point of a small dev's threads getting buried. Other threads get buried here very quickly regardless unless a discussion opens up about a particular subject. It follows that if a small dev was interested in sales here, they could easily interact with potential customers, and his threads would be active and wouldn't get buried. Peter from IK comes to mind. Definitely NOT a small dev, but he represents his products well, takes it on the chin any number of times and contributes to the forum. Knowing that people like Peter work at IK is a huge selling point and as a result, has gotten the company sales (at least from me). IMHO, if a small dev is worried about sales on a particular forum, he should interact with his potential customers there. BTW, what is so gd hard about ignoring an innocuous thread like this??
  3. The functionality was there all along, but these new "devices" make the plugins so much more appealing and inspiring!
  4. @Reid Rosefelt There it is! That last one checked all the boxes. Nothing was distracting me from your narrative and entertaining story. Nicely done!
  5. It's up on the Apogee site now... https://apogeedigital.com/deals
  6. I'm thinking about pulling the trigger on this Bob Clearmountain's Spaces. It's even got a built in de-esser! ?
  7. @MusicMan And BTW, and excellent post with links and everything! We didn't even have to work for it! ?
  8. There they are, thanks! Those are expensive! It looks like a pretty basic reverb for $30 (on sale) too...
  9. ??? Creative! ...and ST EchoBoy/Jr, all of the excellent IK delays, Kuassa Delay, BabyAudio, Softtube, Fuse Audio recently gave away their Bucket-500 delay. I'm sure there's more too... Is it bad that I'm excited about Korneff Audio coming out with their Echoleffe Tape Delay soon? ? I can quit any time.
  10. Ha! Busted! ? Frankly, when I first tried out MTurboDelay, I found the UI very uninspiring. Now, with all of the "devices" in the Melda stuff, I definitely need to go back and give it another spin. BTW, I also have Valhalla's Delay which I've barely begun playing with. You can never have too many delays... A big selling point on the Pulsar one for me was the tonal and saturation options that come with it. I can just use it as another saturator if I want! Plus, it's a very fun UI!
  11. Same here. I had never looked at them before because the UIs looked a little "long in the tooth" and they are iLok. But, I've since gone over to the dark side on iLok. PS. Pulsar's EchoRec is great! Still happy to have picked that one up!
  12. Looking forward to watching. re: your lighting - I wonder if indirect "studio" lighting might work? Something like this? (No idea about this site, it's just the first thing that came up when I googled "studio lighting".) I'm sure you can get professional grade stuff for more, but it might be worth trying. https://www.efavormart.com/products/photography-photo-portrait-studio-400w-day-light-white-umbrella-continuous-lighting-kit
  13. I literally JUST bought Pulsar's EchoRec last night from the VSTBuzz deal. I'd been watching for a good sale on that one for a long time. I'll be curious to see how this one compares.
  14. I was excited, then I keep thinking about the inevitable "update" just around the corner and how much THAT will co$$t! (Bless the "FREE for life update" Devs!) PS. And just think of all of the "Complete Kontakt only" stuff I could start buying! ?
  15. I wonder if they look at each others' prices?
  16. Up at BestService too: https://www.bestservice.com/deals/synchro_arts_33_off_vocalign_project_5_3909.html

    Melda deal?

What's missing from Melda's list is access to the multi-parameters (unless you can already access them from the FREE version, but I don't think so). I only know this because early on I wanted to learn how to use mutli-parameters and set up the "Notching EQ" user preset on MEqualizer. It's kind of like the Remove Resonances feature on MAutoDynamicEQ, only it's not automatic. I still use it when I need to "seek and destroy" problem frequencies on a track though. ?
  18. Hmmm... this one gets a lot of good reviews. Is it ever on sale at a better price?

    Melda deal?

That's a weird "sale". It half price ($25) for the cost of unlocking the FREE bundle. I wonder how they can do just a couple of them? I agree with Brian, you should just wait for the half off FREE bundle price. In the meantime, you can download the free bundle and start using them to see if you'd want to do that in the first place.
  20. @PavlovsCat You can also add saturation/distortion to a vocal/instrument to help it cut through a mix. Put it on there and crank it so you can hear what it's doing, then dial it waaaaay back. These sort of things pile up very quickly.
  21. Good point. ...BUT, do they have motorized knobs?? (OK, get your minds out of the gutter guys!) It's pretty cool to watch the fader(s) move as you play through a song. ?
  22. I don't know if this helps or not, but I found a like-new original FaderPort last year on Reverb.com for like $67!! I have been absolutely loving it for switching screens, transport functions, and mostly doing automations. It's been great. ...Then I saw a Michael Brauer tutorial and he was "playing the song" and doing multiple automation moves with his 16 channel controller at the same time. ? PS. If you're going to get a controller, you HAVE to have faders! ?
  23. Another enjoyable video and more refined in a good way. It feels like you're one of those friends you can go to a bar with and listen to the stories all night long. No pretense and very conversational and relaxing. GOod stuff! I liked the addition of pictures to give context and as you said, to allow yourself some edits if needed. The only thing that "stuck out" to me was that the music seemed loud. I get what you were going for and it pretty much worked, but maybe it was a little loud is all. Otherwise, you've got great stories and are very listenable, plus you're a nice break from all the mixing tutorials! ?
