I have the Augmented Strings. It's kind of cool. Sampled strings with a funky interface and effects. It seems like a product geared towards cinematic composer customer types. I don't use it that much. I am sort of on the fence about getting more Arturia stuff but still researching my options as its still early. I judge the value of the product by how often I will use it. The Arturia products are great but it's not like I am sitting at home making intricate retro synth music or exploring how retro synths worked in the past. I have been doing a lot of more songwriting and demos and when I need synths, I just use SampleTank and tweak the presets in all generic interface, that once you learn how to us it -- it works for everything and gets the job done faster. IK have also been on a roll and sampled some really rare hard to find ones that no one seems to have. I am looking at the Arturia deal and it will be about $170 for me to give to Arturia (which are a great company and make great products) or invest that money into Toontrack which might give me tools I will use more often every day in what I do.

I am on V Col 6. My upgrade deal is $99 for V Col and $69 for FX3. Damn. I think Arturia got me on BF.

I know nothing about this stuff. Is this something you install on your laptop and take to a gig and run your VIs through the PA system?

I am fairly sure a 50% off will come. It all come down to do you want to part with more $ to get more stuff. I personally have been trimming down what I have so I can spend less time sorting through what to use and more time making music.

i haven't used it. but i believe if two people have cubase pro and vst live pro, they can collaborate remotely on projects. or something to that fashion.

Its a good DAW. Easy to make stuff in. But not for rock music. I use my kids copy and I try to teach myself stuff on it when I have free time. Which is rarely. Too busy making rock. What it lacks is the advanced midi of Cubase. I feel it's more of loop and sample music makers DAW.

So basically, you are arguing AT5 Max owners should own everything that works within AT5 except ToneX? The tricky part is, do the items that were released after AT5 max was released on sale only be extended to customers who purchase AT5 max after a certain time, or should it be retroactive, and older customers of AT5 Max be given the items as freebies? In which case, then, you run into the issue of existing AT5 max customers who did go out and but those individual packages, will get all pissed off because they paid for those items while others didn't.

what are peoples thought on it? is more 70s metal/hard rock or more modern numetal?
