looks cool

yeah. thanks. i looked at that. i am just trying to decide is this is for me. i was looking to spend something at PB to get reason freebie and was hoping to spend it on something useful. this seemed to be the most useful deal so far. (i would have prefered RX standard deal). i am just not sure if this is for me. i spend much more time sequencing and song structure. i don't spend endless hours perfecting a master. i have the IKM tracks stuff -- its fun to use, but i just use larrusem to give me a rough idea of what a mastered version will/could sound like.

if it is too good to be true. it usually is not true. -
i am a big maschine user. but the Akai software tends to get a little more towards a DAW than Maschine. it seemed to have features many Maschine useres have been complaining about lacking in Maschine. we shall see what 2021 brings. Rumors are abound that NI are turning Maschine into more of a DAW

https://www.uvi.net/rotary the demos sound good.
-
when i played with it, the MPC software was more advanced and more feature rich than Maschine.

Hey, I just checked, Joe Satriani's birthday was July 15. IKM should have done a intro offer promo for that.

VSTBuzz Offer: 87% off “MPC 2.0 Special Edition Bundle” by Akai Pro

cool. it has been going on sale for that price since 2018. So at least with inflation in account, it looks like a good deal. How is this any different than the freebie we got earlier this week? just wondering? -
mine came in right away. search for an email from "AKAI Professional". it might be in your junk mail.

G&L Limited Edition Tribute ASAT Classic Electric Guitar Olympic White
telecode 101 replied to Larry Shelby's topic in Deals
i could use a Bass. how did you chose a natural finish? I see no option to change finish at that price. -
I sort of agree with this. But you have to admit, it's a very unique sound compared to standard fare of British blues rock tones. The tones he got on the It's a Kind of Magic /Highlander soundtrack were very very good IMO. my guess is this product is targeted towards the middle aged dad guitar player rock & roll fan customer instead of the fans of the actual guitar amp and pedals. makes sense. good profitable market. I have been able to get very good results with AT 4 by manually tweaking the amp sims in AT 4 core. Also started using the Mesa Boogie Mark VI a lot. Very cool hidden behind the scenes settings when you flip the amp to its back.

i am temped but, meh.. the product just seems too gimickey. It seems skimpy on effects compared to Satriani and other collections, no? It would be great if IKM tried to make collections with players that have great tone but aren't super start rock / metal players. Like Mike Landau or Bill Frisell or Marc Ribbot. But I guess won't sell as much.

in my case, i just plop it on at the end and get a decent idea of what this may sound like if sent out for mastering. i think its a good product for singer song writers or composers who want to spend more time focusing on the songs and less time audio engineering.
-
IKM are okay, I own most of AT and Tracks. FWIW.. I have gotten the most use and mileage and moneys worth out of Larrusen console. (Maybe its just my usage of their product line. ) I am a little confused by their release of this Space Delay product. Who in their right mind thought there was a need for this considering so many alternatives in the market space.

you can get your refund for tuition minus the application fee, as long as you request the refund early enough, (within first 2 weeks of course). but yeah. you can't upgrade or sell the license. if i am correct, that's how most of these .edu products work. it's better to just crossgrade.

you can easily enroll into an online program, get a student card, buy, then drop out.

Hi, yes, you need Native Access to install and update the VSTs. But you don't need it actually use and run them. Its similar to Arturia's software manager. It just connected to their servers with your account and installs and updates. Re: NI, it does make sense to get the boxed USB drive edition. You would not want to download the entire Komplete catalog over a poor Internet connection or a capped Internet account. BTW.. there are no Kontakt instruments in Community drive. I dont recall seeing any.
-
no. it just get added to Native Access and you install it from there.

i tried it. its got pretty useable presets and loops. about 10 maschine kits, bunch of massive, monark, prism and skanner presents. all are quite good.

EXTENDED: Ampocalypse MAX - AmpliTube MAX as low as $/€99.99
telecode 101 replied to Peter - IK Multimedia's topic in Deals
i am not sure. there has been no word on any IKM summer group buy yet. Max is 70% old AT 3 plugins and effects I think. I think one needs to wait for a release statement on when (or if!) AT 5 gets released. Not sure about anything. The guitar VST market is so bloody crowded. IKM are going to have to start making a MAX package deal with elements of Tracks or other product lines to compete. And then there is also the very strong rumor possibility that NI are going to come in swinging with a new version of Guitar Rig. That is going to heat up the guitar VST market space. -
EXTENDED: Ampocalypse MAX - AmpliTube MAX as low as $/€99.99
telecode 101 replied to Peter - IK Multimedia's topic in Deals
there is only one effect i need from max, the swell effect. i cant be arsed to spend $15 on it. from what I read on other forms. the hidden treasures in the legacy AT are: Green BA250 V3M
