How to send audio to a professional studio to mix and master?
scook replied to Al Robbins's question in Q&A
Yes Rendering applies the Melodyne corrections and removes the plug-in from the clip(s). -
How to send audio to a professional studio to mix and master?
scook replied to Al Robbins's question in Q&A
Best ask the studio what they want. You will likely need to export all the tracks out of the project. You should apply Region FX before export. -
The buttons were removed from X-series SONAR and re-introduced in CbB.

How on earth can I export a midi file ???
scook replied to Paul Bush's topic in Instruments & Effects
There is no risk to the original project when starting with a MIDI file created using "Save As". It is also often less work removing data from a MIDI file especially if the original project has tempo changes and markers. A project can be thought of as a MIDI file with proprietary extensions. When a project is saved as a MIDI file all the proprietary data is ignored and stripped out of the file. -

scook replied to Paul Bush's topic in Instruments & Effects
There is data loss when copying out clips instead of saving a project as a MIDI file. Tempo, position on the timeline and marker data are not embedding in clips. Historically, the only "export" option was MIDI groove clip. The "Save As" MIDI file function in the export menu is relatively new. It has always been an option from the main menu Save option. There may come a time when "Save As" does something with archive and mute when exporting MIDI. In a regular project file these track states have meaning and are preserved when saving to a new name. They have no equivalent in the MIDI standard. Saving a "partial" MIDI file might be a useful new feature. MIDI files are small. Saving the whole thing and expecting the person receiving the file can figure out what to do with it is not a big ask. Currently, if the MIDI file must be pared down to a subset of the project's MIDI data (and still contain all the MIDI "project" data) it must be done by removing the unneeded MIDI data from the project. -

Yes, it is still a trial version. I believe it is not the same as the trial available from Celemony. The trial bundled with CbB will continue to perform monophonic audio-to-midi and drag--to-timeline tempo map after the trial period for the editor ends.

BA keeps track of what it installed using registry entries in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Cakewalk Music Software\Cakewalk\Installers I did not install the bundled Melodyne so do not have the actual key to the Melodyne record. It should be pretty clear which is the Melodyne record based on the data. Delete the appropriate key and the Add-ons option will be available again.

IIRC, it is a +3db HF shelf starting around 4k

Add drag and drop functionality to step sequencer.
scook replied to David Rohan's topic in Feedback Loop
May need to elaborate a little. Currently it is possible to drag and drop MIDI clips from Windows explorer, the track view and media browser into the Step Sequencer. -
Studio Instruments Suite is a separate install from the "Install Add-ons..." menu

The best help I can offer is the suggestion to forget about Square I. The last update to the plug-in was in 2011. It was never ported to 64bit. There are many good free 64bit alternatives. Take a look at If you prefer not to wade through the thread and all the plug-ins listed, try Surge https://surge-synthesizer.github.io/

As noted above, users of SONAR Platinum can get a discount code for TH-U by supplying an image of their SONAR Platinum about page. Here is the original offer Overloud made to SONAR Platinum users http://forum.cakewalk.com/Overloud-Welcomes-Cakewalk-Customers-Get-Unlocked-TH3-BREVERB-and-REmatrix-Solo-m3698835.aspx. When BandLab purchased the Cakewalk IP, this offer was discontinued (at least that is what Red from Overloud support emailed me yesterday).

Unable to create instrument tracks from preassigned audio/midi track
scook replied to Mánibranðr Studios's question in Q&A
It is always possible to add additional audio and MIDI tracks after adding a synth. There is no requirement to add all the I/O tracks possible for a synth when instantiating the plug-in. There are a couple of ways plug-ins handle multi-I/O. Some have configuration options within the plug-in, some provide multiple dlls with different numbers of inputs and outputs, some do both. -
Rarely is a clean install necessary. In general, it should only be done if support recommends it. if you are posting questions about the process, it may be a good idea to contact support and see if this is the correct remedy for your problem or just run the uninstall and re-install from BA without all the clean up steps. Yes, don't do it. Removing the folder does not happen automatically. One could temporarily move the folder to somewhere else or delete everything except that folder.

On that model the Direct/USB knob is between input #2 and the headphone level knob. BTW, post a link to the image https://i.gyazo.com/4b6e64c38dfa1de353360c96c8c03428.jpg instead of a link to the page hosting the image https://gyazo.com/4b6e64c38dfa1de353360c96c8c03428 and the image will appear in the post like this -

If this is the interface The knob on the bottom right called Monitor Mix adjusts the about of the direct signal with the audio from the DAW. This is part of what is called zero latency monitoring sending the signal directly from the interface input to the output. In order to monitor through the DAW, instead of using the zero latency monitoring feature of the interface, make sure the input echo button on the track is enabled. This button is to the right of the track record button. Was screen shot 3 was made before the driver mode was set to ASIO in screen shot 4? The ASIO section is missing in image 3. -
I don't use the Event List view very often. Custom bindings may be undone so there is no harm in trying. but one can only bind functions that are exposed unless using an external utility to capture and remap keystrokes.
