Feature: Partial clip gain via control shortcut + selection
scook replied to Josh Wolfer's topic in Feedback Loop
While waiting for a change to clip gain automation try adding a gain plug-in to the clip FX rack. Although not addressing "partial" clip issues, it may offer greater gain range and more options than the regular clip gain. The free Blue Cat Bundle includes three gain plug-ins: dual mono, and stereo. Mono and stereo have a knob w/ +- 60dB. Duel has individual knobs for left and right (or mid/side) -+ 60fB. The plug-ins may be grouped (up to 9 groups allowed). Drag and drop the plug-in on the clip and automate as needed. -
Cakewalk by BandLab hang that doesn't occur with Sonar Platinum
scook replied to LabDog's topic in Cakewalk by BandLab
The current version of CbB is 26.05.0.39 This post covers how to generate a "hang dump" to send to support -
As mentioned above the may be placed any where. Historically bundled audio samples not associated with a particular synth were stored in folders under C:\Cakewalk Content\Audio Library Regardless of where the folder is on the PC, the location may be added to the Content Location menu "C" for quick access by navigating to the folder and clicking "L" For more about the media browser see http://www.cakewalk.com/Documentation?product=Cakewalk&language=3&help=Browser.03.html

Feature requests go here That said, clip gain already exists. They are displayed by changing a tracks edit filter ("A" in the image below) to Clip Automation > Gain

The plug-ins failed to scan correctly, click the "Reset..." button in VST Preferences to force a rescan.

It is not possible to redraw a waveform by hand in CbB. It is possible to integrate any program including free and commercial audio editors into CbB and send data between the program and CbB as long as the program accepts a wave file as a command line argument. I created a free program to make the process of adding programs to the CbB Utility menu a little easier. It is called Tools Editor and is available on my Google page along with other CbB related software.

How to max recent effects list size? Five is too limited.
scook replied to Victor Tabas's topic in Cakewalk by BandLab
This Most Recently Used list is limited to 5 plug-ins. If you have a known collection of favorite/most used plug-ins consider creating a category at the top of the "Sort by Categories" layout or your custom layout for them. -

Migrating to Win 10 - plugin best practice

It was always sold separately. The installer should be in your account. The same is true for the Concrete limiter, PC4K expander gate and CA-2A PC modules. -

I don't doubt it. I only mention input echo as it is often a cause for confusion in new users when trying to play an instrument and hearing nothing. The round trip latency often needs to be experienced to appreciate direct monitoring.
-
My guess is the OP was trying to monitor through the DAW. Direct is a good way but it helps to know that input echo (the button to the right of the record button) must be enabled with monitoring through the DAW.

Most of the synths I use do not require an extra step in the plug-in to send MIDI data. It would be nice if all synth did require configuration. It would help avoid the problem I mentioned above.
-
MCompleteBundle did not exist in 2013. The drum synth was the only instrument at the time and it was sold separately. Bought Superior Drummer instead. I tried MPowerSynth (IIRC, there was a public beta) and passed on it too. Did pick up MSoundFactory when first released. Had a little referral money so got it pretty cheap. May get MPowerSynth someday but most of it is in MSoundFactory.
-
Yes and this can cause problems for new users because this option along with the "Always Echo Current MIDI Track" (which is enabled by default too) can cause MIDI data from one track to unexpectedly appear on other tracks. Especially confusing when users set instrument and MIDI track inputs to None.
-
Synths that can send MIDI have MIDI out is enabled by default. Effects that can send MIDI have MIDI out disabled by default.

I bought a license for the free bundled and the Convolution reverb then decided to save for the bundle. The list price in 2013 was about half was it is now. I paid ~$560 for the bundle. Every effect since then has been free. The downside is the cost to upgrade to the new complete bundle. It is more than what I paid for the bundle I have
-
Bundles are the best way to go I bought what is now called the MTotalFXBundle years ago. My cost is down to about $5 per plug-in with all the new plug-ins added to the bundle.
-
Another thing to consider - All plug-ins and bundles offer free updates for life If a plug-in is added to a bundle, owners of the bundle get the plug-in for free

Historically, they have a 50% off bundles sale near the end of the year. All through the year, individual plug-ins are selected for 50% off sales too,

Click the orange button in the bottom left of the track This is the type of stuff I recommend trying and see what happens. Bouncing clips does not change the clip type. They are still MIDI clips. Bouncing clips does not change track settings so the track output remains unchanged. Bouncing clips has nothing to do with plug-in settings.
-
Bouncing clips is not the same as bouncing a track. Bouncing MIDI clips does not render them to audio. The image in the OP shows a parent track with 2 clips in different take lanes. Open the take lanes to see both clips. Bouncing the clips in the parent track merges the selected clips into one clip in a single take lane.
-
Is editing just one midi take possible in piano roll?
scook replied to DocBob's topic in Cakewalk by BandLab
The PRV does not recognize take lanes. To show one take lane, temporarily mute the clips in the other take lanes and enable "Hide Muted Clips" in the PRV view menu.
