Addictive drums shows as an FX not Soft synth. How?
scook replied to brad's topic in Instruments & Effects
Run a VST Reset from Preferences -
If it was the full version, the installer may be in your Cakewalk account. I am not familiar with how the synth was delivered for that promo.
-
The plug-in is not part of SHS At least according to http://www.cakewalk.com/Documentation?product=SONAR&language=3&help=Comparison.html Or is this an older version of SHS? I don't have any experience with that part of the CW product line.
-
That's right. I was just about to post the section for z3ta+.dll. It fails too. Could try re-installing. What versions of SONAR do you have? The plug-in was not bundled with SONAR Home Studio.
-
Upload the log somewhere and post a link to it. I will look take a look at the log. Does z3ta+ show up in effects? If so, what are the names of the FX entries?
-
Always unless support suggests otherwise
-
restore the file names From preferences run a VST Reset with "Generate Scan Log" enabled If the plug-ins do not show up in the "Sort by" layouts bundled with CbB, review the scan log for details about Z3ta+.

Here are step-by-step instructions for installing Cakewalk by BandLab using BandLab Assistant. http://www.cakewalk.com/Documentation?product=Cakewalk&language=3&help=Introduction.30.html#1521945

Instrument and MIDI tracks routed to drum maps populate the Drum Grid View. Without a drum map these tracks show up in the PRV.
-
May be easier with a new project create a new project, add Ivory2 using an instrument track then copy and paste the MIDI data from the old project into the new project instrument track.
-
While routing track 3 to the same synth as instrument track 4 uses works, it may be clearer, for now, to drag the MIDI data into the instrument track. As noted above, a MIDI track is not necessary when using an instrument track. The instrument track can handle all communication with the synth. If the event filter MFX plug-ins are doing something, they may be placed in the instrument track MIDI FX rack. The MIDI FX rack is located on the MIDI tab in the inspector for track 4. Once the data and plug-ins are moved, delete track 3. If you prefer having two tracks, one for MIDI and one for audio - after moving the data and plug-ins to track 4, right-click the track header near the track number and icons and select "Split Instrument Track" Might want to archive tracks 1 and 2 for now.

[CLOSED] Cakewalk 2020.07 Early Access
scook replied to Morten Saether's topic in Early Access Program
The MINUS in the automation lane header deletes the automation lane but does NOT delete the automation envelope. This is by design. To delete an automation envelope see http://www.cakewalk.com/Documentation?product=Cakewalk&language=3&help=Automation.11.html#1154521 If a track has no automation, opening up the automation lanes automatically adds Volume automation. This may be reassigned or deleted as needed. This too is by design. -
VIRUS TI WILL NOT START UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES
scook replied to Frei Geist's topic in Cakewalk by BandLab
I don't know anything about Virus hardware or software. The interface buffer size setting in Cakewalk is in Preferences > Audio > Driver Settings -
There is only one group that can help I gave you the link on the 25th
-
It might help to see an image of the track headers. Especially the routing details. There are two basic track types in Cakewalk - audio and MIDI tracks. An instrument track is a hybrid of one audio track and one MIDI track. A separate MIDI track is not necessary if the synth is configured to use an instrument track.

How do I stop the delay when using MIDI controller?
scook replied to tdehan's topic in Cakewalk by BandLab
Too small a buffer can cause dropouts or audible clicks and pops. -
The drop is indicating a Workspace is active and the workspace affects the controls displayed in the track headers. When there is no active workspace, the drop down shows the current Track Control setting. The Workspace menu is in the extreme upper right. It can controls the available views. It displays the name of the active workspace or when set to None the drop down shows "Workspaces"

If playback is OK in the DAW, the problem may lie in the software use for playing the exported file. One way to test this is import the file into a new project and play the clip. If the levels are OK, it is the playback software. If the levels are bad i the DAW, then the levels need to be changed in the project. The gain on the audio tab in the inspector for an instrument track affects record clips only. It does not affect synth playback There is a cancel button to the right of the progress bar (B in the image below) in the transport module when exporting. If exporting a single track, it likely won't get the cancel request until after the track is rendered.

How do I stop the delay when using MIDI controller?
scook replied to tdehan's topic in Cakewalk by BandLab
Yes, move the slider to the left (Fast) if the machine and interface can tolerate a smaller buffer. -
Take lane setup is per-project. The settings are in Preferences > Project > Record Create a custom project template to use new per-project preference settings in future projects.

Does not look like v1.7.0 which is VST3 only. The menu should look like this Maybe you have loaded an old VST2. Regardless "About Surge" should tell you which version is running.

It is your machine. Configure it as you see fit. The plug-in is not part of Cakewalk.
