could use ripple edit to remove the blank space from the project
or
leave the space in the project and use a time-based selection for export then select "C" in the large export module (image below) or use the export dialog
or
export as is and finish up the file in a wave editor
I prefer to make the selection or clean up with a wave editor and leave the project as is.

Verify the plug-in layout is set to "aa". The plug-in layout is set with the first option at the top of the plug-in menu shown in image 2.
BTW, it is best to avoid 32bit plug-ins when a 64bit version is available (ex. Absynth 5).

To monitor through the DAW make sure the input echo button is enabled on the track(s) receiving data from the MIDI controller (or instrument/microphone in the case of audio tracks).
This button is to the right of the record button on each track.

V-Vocal was part of SONAR Producer 5 through X2.
I do not believe it was updated after 8.5.
I installed it with X2 and it works in CbB but it definitely lacks the same level of integration as Melodyne.
If it is in any projects, it may be a good idea to bounce the clips and remove it or have a recovery plan when the clips won't load.

I installed X1LE first to grab VVocal.
Kind of unnecessary.
V-Vocal was bundled with Producer only.
It is also DX format so if it were included with a 32bit DAW, it would be useless in a 64bit DAW.

@scook there is also a feature called "Flatten Comp" which creates a new take lane composed of all the other (comped) takes and then solos it (in take lane, not track). the take shows an "unlock" icon which indicates the "clip data" is locked - it's not (apparently) a destructive operation as the takes are in one WAV file and the new one is in another WAV file.
Thanks but why are you telling me about this?

Synth audio track - an audio track with its input set to a synth plug-in
MIDI track
Instrument track - a combination of the two basic track types (Audio and MIDI) presenting the MIDI input controls and audio output controls. This track may be split into its underlying audio and MIDI tracks. Conversely, an audio/MIDI track pair may be merged into an instrument track.
A synth plug-in requires
- at least one audio track and one MIDI track or
- an instrument track
for a complete routing in a project.
Here is a video playlist of tutorials that may be helpful

Cakewalk went out of business in 2017.
At that time the customer database went into archive mode.
Access to the database is maintained by BandLab.
I do not believe support@cakewalk.com can help with this but you can ask them.
Maybe Stanton can help https://www.stantondj.com/support.html

I believe X1LE is 32bit only
If this is the case, Cakewalk by BandLab will not affect the X1LE install at all.
In the case of old 64bit Cakewalk DAWs, CbB installs as an upgrade. This means the program, programdata, content and user files have separate folders and the shared folders are updated with backward compatible files.
Either way, your projects and 3rd party plug-ins are not affected.
After installing CbB both X1Le and CbB will be available along with any additional plug-ins.
Since, it appears that X1LE is 32bit, consider installing the latest 64bit version of any 3rd party plug-ins on the PC.
As a rule 64bit DAWs run better with 64bit plug-ins.

Increase the sample buffer size ( in Preferences | Audio | Driver settings) even further and see what happens....
The code indicates a disk buffer problem not an audio driver buffer problem.
Try 512.

Rather than RTFM I recommend searching the document index http://www.cakewalk.com/Documentation?product=Cakewalk&language=3&help=ix.html in a web browser.
It is what I do when I need to look something up.
In this case searching for "silence" would have worked.

Did you perform a clean re-install?
7 minutes ago, Max Castle said:lost all the various presets in the Cakewalk Core, like all the arpeggiator patterns, FX chain presets, step sequencer patterns, all of it.
There is no selective re-install for these files.
Be aware the clean re-install will delete the default VST folder. If you have third party plug-ins installed in the default folder, you may want to temporarily move the folder "C:\Program Files\Cakewalk\VSTplugins" to a safe place before executing step 9 and put the folder back afterward.

It is called a spectrum analyzer.
Good free options are:
- SPAN
- MAnalyzer part of MFreeFXBundle
- FreqAnalyst part of Blue Cat's Freeware Plug-ins Pack II
Both free bundles are worth getting.
While MFreeFXBundle is free, picking up a license when it is on sale is a good idea.

I wish there was an affordable upgrade path to SD3 *sigh*
Understood.
I held out until the last minute and managed to get a decent (not great) deal on the upgrade.
Waited until almost a year after that before adding the new standard library since my old PC did not have the space for it.
Definitely worth the it.

AFAIK, recent versions of Audacity do not accept a wave file on the command line.
That said, ANY program that accepts a wave file as a command line argument may be used as an audio editor in CbB.
ANY program or document that windows knows how to launch may be added to the menu too but only those that accept a wave file on their command line may be used interactively with CbB as a wave editor.

The Superior Drummer 3 drum mapping tool is a lot easier to use.
Also there is a tool to convert simple ins format files to CbB drum maps from http://forum.cakewalk.com/SONAR-Cakewalk-by-BandLab-CbB-Resources-and-Utilities-m3392713.aspx#3472457
QuoteIns2map.zip (Listed Nov 18 2015)
ralf (Ralf Sesseler)
This tool will convert an instrument definition (ins file) into a drum map for Cakewalk SONAR. (Essentially, any text file with a mapping from midi note number to drum instrument name can be used.) The created drum map uses default values for most parameters and is not linked to a particular virtual instrument, so it's mainly the first step and may require enhancements to be done in SONAR directly.
Download and Further Information http://dis.sesseler.de/ In the left menu area, click on “Cakewalk SONAR”. Then select “Instrument to Drum Map” to download the file.-

The DX plug-ins are registered at install time.
VST2/VST3 are registered by the scanner.
The data is stored in the registry.
The VST2/3 data is stored in
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Cakewalk Music Software\Cakewalk\Cakewalk VST X64\Inventory
I wrote a tool to view and export the VST2/3 data called VST Inventory Tool. The export is an html table viewable in any browser or spreadsheet tool.
It is available on my google page.

Thanks for the update.
Glad you got it going.
If you need help with specific plug-ins, post the error messages given by the scanner or the appropriate sections of the scan log.

We are probably a minority at this point,
Been a minority for years. In 2016, according to the data collected through Cakewalk analytics, 64bit Win10 was reported as the most used OS with almost 3x the users of 64bit Win7.

The installer should be in your old Cakewalk account.
