  1. It is not the quantity but the quality of the paths that matter. The paths should only contain VST2/3 dlls and the minimum amount of supporting files possible. Asking the scanner to evaluate random dlls is a bad idea.
  2. As you have discovered simply changing sample rates is not enough. Here is the documented process for changing a project's sample rate (probably not what you want to read). In short, the step to create track 11 is part of the process.
  3. Don't need to use the Drum Map Manager to create simple Drum Maps. Any tool capable of writing a text file may be used along with a freely available ins-to-drum map program.
  4. Is this a separately purchased DimPro or a copy bundled with SONAR? If SONAR, which release? Does the serial number start with CWDM15?
  5. The 80-vox II fails for sure. The VST Inventory registry entries look OK. Just because a plug-in runs in another DAW does not indict the DAW just like the thousands of plug-ins that run fine in the DAW exonerate it. At this time, all I can say is the 32 and 64bit 80-vox II plug-ins fail to load and the normal remedies do not work. If I wanted to use the plug-in, I would contact the plug-in developer and support@cakewalk.com and ask for assistance.
  6. Since Vista, manually activating DP requires running the standalone or the DAW as administrator. The program/plug-in needs to write to a protected area of the registry.
  7. Like this? Here I check the value of a node, right-click the node to the right, select properties and set it to the exact same value
  8. Yes. the smart tool uses double-click is insert note but click-drag is insert and size in one motion. The slightest drag creates notes just like click in the draw tool. A longer drag invokes resize. Or Wait until the draw tool is modified to your specifications. Either way is fine by me.
  9. JBridge can load 32 and 64bit plug-ins but in most cases there is no advantage to using a bridge when the plug-ins and host are the same bitness. MeldaProduction have 32/64bit VST2/VST3 versions of all of their plug-ins. There is no reason to use a bridge with them.
  10. What you are asking for is already in the smart tool. It can draw, move and resize without switching tools. Until all the tools contain the similar functions in different orders and key combinations, consider developing a workflow around the smart tool. It will eliminate most tool switching.
  11. I suppose a designated end of project indicator may be useful to some (maybe many IDK, other than to test, I leave "Stop At Project End" turned off). Has the project been submitted for analysis?
  12. That's a start. It gets a little more interesting when one needs to add a custom entry to the Alternate Notes drop down. Regardless as mentioned above, unlike drum maps (which may be used for any MIDI note labeling duty even drums) Alternate Notes has a persistence problem
  13. Already have plenty of synths and won't try them all but if there is one in particular (preferably one that does not have an elaborate install process) I will install it as see what happens.
  14. Possibly a permissions issue. Some plug-ins (mostly freeware) try to write into the folder where the dll is installed. This is a problem when the plug-ins are installed in "Program Files" the default for most plug-ins. There are several solutions. Here are three: Install the plug-ins in a different area (some create folders directly off the root such as C:\VST and C:\VST32) Modify the permissions of their install folders adding user write access Run the DAW as administrator Some plug-ins just need to write once to create their data files, some write every time they are used.
  15. Only if you want to use both of them. WRT program updates one only has to look at the link I provided above to see Cakewalk by BandLab is actively being developed.
  16. Where? Cakewalk by BandLab has been updated at least every other month since it was released, There is a dedicated section of this forum containing its update annoucements https://discuss.cakewalk.com/index.php?/forum/33-product-release-info/ BandLab runs inside a web-browser, primarily Chrome. Cakewalk by BandLab is a Windows program. The only similarity is both are free DAWs. Try them both as see which one is for you. Maybe you will like both.
  17. It involves editing the master.ins file. I describe the process here the biggest problem with using alternate note names in the Notes pane is they are not persistent. Unlike drum maps, the alternate note names must be selected every time the track is loaded in the PRV.

    How to extend track

Here are a couple of ways drag the end of an audio clip, add an empty audio clip, create an automation node, a MIDI CC event or zero velocity note where the project should stop or when exporting make a time-based selection including space for the effect tails and switch the export module to selection or use the export dialog
  19. ripple edit is way more reliable than using "Slide Over..." in DnD options. May want to spend a little time with it.

  21. Of course, this is unprovable but it may play for a very long time. I have seen one report involving projects built using a corrupted template having a similar problem. Both regular delete and ripple edit (make sure to try this and set it to edit all tracks) failed to remove the data causing play past project "end". Starting with a freshly built project template addressed this user's issue. There may be other causes but aside from project data far down the timeline and a corrupted template (or project?) I am unware of any.
  22. I reported something similar to @Jonathan Sasor a few months ago based on another thread. @Noel Borthwick it is much better with the new release. The setup to demo used MOscillator and MFreqShifter in an audio FX rack automating shift in MFreqShifter (n.b. both plug-ins are free in the MFreeFXBundle). The sweep was getting quantized and the effect was audible. I used both VST2 and VST3 while testing. One thing I still notice are glitches when drawing the envelope while the transport is running. Drawing is happening nowhere near the play head but it still affects audio. Play was looping and I was drawing new automation well to the right of the loop.
  23. Cakewalk by BandLab is an updated version of 64bit SONAR Platinum without most of the 3rd party plug-ins. BandLab Technologies purchased Cakewalk IP from Gibson. With a small team of former Cakewalk employees, BandLab released Cakewalk by BandLab using SONAR Platinum source code. Along with providing this forum, they continue to develop and support the DAW. CbB installs as an upgrade to SONAR Platinum. This means the DAW and its supporting files install in their own folders and the components shared with SONAR are updated to the latest versions. The shared components are backward compatible with SONAR. After installing CbB both Platinum and CbB will be available. With Platinum installed all of the content and plug-ins bundled with Platinum may be used in CbB.
  24. Yes, they are called linked clips see http://www.cakewalk.com/Documentation?product=Cakewalk&language=3&help=Arranging.44.html
