Thinking of you and your family in this difficult time. Glad that you can reach out to us here. I hope our collective thoughts can give you comfort and support.

Thanks guys. FYI. I can’t go slower than 60bpm. But as fast as I can.

After buying upgrade to K12UCE, I got an email saying to launch Native Access to get a bunch of freebie downloads.

After installation, Spectral Layers 6 (upgrade from V1-4) doesn’t ask for a serial number. I still had V4 installed so i can only assume it does a check for a legit previous installation for the upgrade.

Don’t forget that Cakewalk has been working with ARA since the standard was created. In fact they were involved with Celemony and Presonus during the initial development. Cubase hasn’t been involved with ARA that long and Spectral layers is only one of a very few ARA compatible plugins. as always you get more of Spectral Layers by opening up your audio directly in the standalone program.

If you have V1, 2, 3 or 4 then the upgrade to 6 at the Steinberg shop is for me (I have V4) in Australia only AUD$149 if you have the above and want to upgrade at Magix to V5 (their last version) then for me that would be AUD$249 + AUD$75 for the V5 to 6 upgrade from Steinberg. Guess which update I took. Fancy a Steinberg update being the cheaper option.

Magix are still selling V5.0 and upgrades from 4 to 5.

Haven’t been around much as recovery from my bypass op has taken much longer than anticipated. I had been fainting and the drs were unable to find out why until just last week. I had another fainting episode whilst being monitored. I’ve been having ventricular pauses that last for 4 or more seconds. On Monday I had a pacemaker implanted and i feel like a new man. Seems not only the plumbing (coronary arteries) was stuffed but the electrical system was stuffed as well. i feel like I haven’t felt in decades. Still limited by my back problems but i can finally move without gasping for air and feeling like my heart (even after the bypass) was going to bust out of my chest. Ahh. Feels good to feel good.

I started on an Amiga 2000 with Bars & Pipes as my sequencer, but work forced me to move to PC. I started with Cakewalk 7 then 8. I only dabbled with computer based music at that stage so that was enough till I found Sonar 3 Pro. Since then I’ve bought every upgrade through to Sonars demise and now on CbB since it’s release.

How long have you been playing the guitar?
Michael Vogel replied to TheSteven's topic in The Coffee House
I started learning lap steel guitar when I was 8 years old. Had to walk about 3 miles to a scout hall where the classes were held. The class was contracted for 83 lessons over 3 years. In all that time I only learned Aloha Oe and the Bonanza theme. When I was 12 I started playing trombone in high school. And everything else I could get my hands on like sax, guitar acoustic and electric. Its all history. -

Perhaps not spinning your head like that would stop your hair getting caught. Just sayin’ -
More DAWs than I literally know what to do with now, a legacy from when I was working and had them all for project compatibility and convenience. CbB, Cubase and Studio One are the only ones I update. CbB is the only one I was using regularly. Haven’t done any music for ages; been sick.

Do you have a diagram showing how the PC, Arduino and keyboards are connected? -
Hi Chuck. Here’s a link to an article discussing the signal path. Maybe this will help. https://www.musicradar.com/reviews/tech/focusrite-isa-one-mic-pre-166612

Hey Chuck, heres the link to the user guide download https://pro.focusrite.com/category/mic-pres/item/isa-one I think this could be the answer from the user guide. ...”The optional ADC can convert two separate channels of audio. The second of the two channels received at the ADC Input is determined by a connection on the rear panel. With no signal connected to EXT I/P, the second channel is fed from the DI (Instrument) input on the front panel. Connecting a signal to EXT I/P makes that signal replace the instrument as the second channel going into the ADC. The first channel, however, will always be the main mic/line/inst input selected by the INPUT switch on the front panel. The LED meters on the front panel can be used to view the levels of the two channels received at the ADC input.” Hope that helps.

You weren’t bringing me down. It’s common to have emotional highs and lows following major surgery, especially heart. I’ve had anxiety ++ and just putting up with it. I’ve had medication for it before so my GP has put me on a really low dose of an antidepressant and after just a few days I’m feeling much better. Phew! i think I’ve turned a corner and starting to appreciate some new found health.

Sorry for not going along. I’m still preoccupied with my health issues. Talking about it constantly was even starting to bore me so I was keeping quiet. I should be back on the road again July 2nd. Nudge nudge wink wink.
