Why yes, yes I do. Big fan from way back and Kerry Livgren was always an influence. Thanks!!

Try trimming the (copied) clip before looping it.

Hmmm... kinda sounds like acoustic jazz techno to me. ? That was just... cool. Layers coming in and out but never busy. Ya got something here.
-
Thanks, Makke! Melody is so important so I really appreciate that.
-
Thanks, Tom! Yep, overall vocals bumped up a bit and the response vocals up a bit more too. The piano runs were just having fun, though that fun did need a little clean-up here and there. And the bassist says... thanks! Fortunately I knew the changes so could keep up. I may not be a "real" bassist but I'm still heavily influenced by Chris Squire none the less. Appreciate it. I often have a somewhat short attention span with my own songs so like to constantly mix it up.

Thanks, Jack! I just uploaded a revised version with a slight bump in the vocals. Appreciate it.

That was really cool... Solid groove with a catchy melody/lyrics and some quality playing. And yeah, the instrumental section was awesome. Loved the visuals too, they kept up nicely.

Aliens and Declassified F.B.I. Documents
SteveC replied to Illogistical Resource Dept.'s topic in Songs
OK, that was really enjoyable. Funky, futuristic, retro, cyber - yeah, it's all there. Y'all got a great sense of humour and it comes through in both sound and video. You could almost say it's in your DNA... ? -
Nice... the sparseness really worked well to help convey the overall feel of the piece. Very effective.

I like it! Spacey, yet the furry paws are groovin'. ?

FWIW, I've used Sennheiser HD280 for years, but they're falling apart so bought these Status 'phones during that last sale. Personally (isn't it always?) I found them to be a very suitable replacement at a great price. And they're comfortable, with a detachable straight cable that I find more convenient.

Bayoubill passed away on April 15th, 2021 - RIP Bill
SteveC replied to Bapu's topic in The Coffee House
I don't visit here much, but for whatever reason felt the need... thanks for posting Bapu, and RIP Bill of the Bayou. Long time poster and great sense of humor. -
Thanks, Kurt! Yes, it did take some time to get everything down. And yes, there are a few notes in there too.
-
Thanks, your Wookiee-ness. Yep, same for "progressive" here, or at least that's what I shoot for. I'm glad you liked it.
-
Thanks, Nigel! Hadn't thought of Jethro Tull but now I will... ?
-
Nice blend of modern and dreamy 70s prog/classic rock. The solo after the 3:00 mark was pretty cool - fairly simple yet effective. ?
-
Awesome all around... And the Kemper sounds great! Sweet, sweet tone.
-
Thanks, David! I am glad you enjoyed the convergence. And the video too, especially as a first-timer there. I also hope to have the time going forward since music really is my core...
-
Thanks, Andrew! Yes, it did take some time to put together, no doubt about that. And then some more after that. ? As for outYessing Yes I'm not sure that's actually possible, but it's a compliment I will happily take regardless. Particularly since the working title of this song was something very Yes-like...
-
Thanks, Lynn! Yeah, you and me both. I listened to more prog way back when than I could ever remember. I guess some of it stuck. And thanks for the video comment - at least it didn't pull things down in a not so good way. ?
-
Thanks! I did spend some time on those harmonies so nice to know it may have been worth it. ?

[CLOSED] Cakewalk 2021.04 Early Access
SteveC replied to Morten Saether's topic in Early Access Program
A difference I'm seeing is that when using the right-click lasso select method vs. left-click, the paste results are different even for a track envelope. The left-click method seems to add nodes to capture the ramp values for the time-line selection before and after the actual nodes being selected, while right-click does not. I'm guessing this is important for tempos? It's early and my brain isn't fully loaded yet, but since the graphic results are different I'm assuming there's a purpose. -
Something in Cakewalk is WIDENING all my tracks!!!

Cool! Sounds like you're making good progress. -

Are you playing the same part using the same (or very similar) tone? If so it is possible that certain parts are close enough to "duplicate" to have that effect. Try EQ-ing the two sides radically different or maybe slightly sliding one along the timeline - does that change the results in Ozone? -
Hey... It's been a few years since I've posted a new original here, pre-Bandlab days in fact. The result of life, work, COVID, the end of SONAR, etc.. I actually completed the song last April, didn't get around to uploading until November, and posting here just now in March. Did I mention life, work, COVID and SONAR? ? Anyhow, it's very much as 70's prog inspired piece but somewhat straightforward too (at least time signature-wise). SoundCloud version is here: I've also taken my first dip into the waters of creating a matching video with Vegas Pro, using random free snippets found on the web. Be gentle, it is my first time after all. ? Thanks!
