FWIW, I've found that when Melodyne isn't displaying blobs in a new region FX it's usually because its zoom level/location is where I left it during the previous edit, and it just doesn't suit the new clip. I've never done any intentional testing (probably should) but it seems that Melodyne's zoom level/location and timeline snap enable/disable option are two things that are retained during the current Sonar/CW session. Start a new session of Sonar and those settings go back to their defaults.

Waveform Visibility while Editing Clip Gain Automation
SteveC replied to Tim Elmore's topic in Cakewalk Sonar
The only way I see to improve it is to temporarily change the clip foreground and/or track color to something light: -
I see the same thing in both. But I expect to because Smart Grid is supposed to dynamically change the grid line spacing as you zoom in and out. It's even reflected in the snap resolution button that changes its value. Any chance the grid line color in CbB is blending in with the clips pane color while in Sonar it's not?

I'm currently on my work laptop running at 100% scale but can't reproduce that. I noticed in your video you're not getting the four corner selection indicators like you would when clicking on the track name field in TV or CV. Could be related... Brower Plugin Menu.mp4

Sluggish GUI and disappearing mouse pointer
SteveC replied to Archerdrummer's topic in Cakewalk Sonar
Just curious - what's your Windows display Scale set to, and can you try other values? -
Now that one I've seen a few times myself, particularly after slip-editing or sometimes right after recording. There's usually nothing there as you've mentioned, and zooming in removes the visual spike.

'Measures' reset on mid-song tempo change possible
SteveC replied to Sven's topic in Cakewalk by BandLab
I also use Ctrl+PgUp and Ctrl+PgDn all the time - one of my favorite navigation shortcuts. But it's designed to move the now time one measure at a time, not to other random points within a measure. It looks like you need to use "Set Measure Beat at Now" so that 19:02 becomes 19:01, which means you'll probably need to adjust either the tempo or meter so that clips still fall at the right spot before and after. Or... could you change measure 18 to 5/4 so that 19:01 is pushed forward one quarter note and then change the meter back to 4/4 at the new 19:01? -
That's the Mercury theme, right? I see the same with that, but the OP was using Tungsten Classic where the icon becomes orange when the synth is frozen.

I think he means that transparent blue overlay on the synth icon like CbB. I find the light blue audio clip background to be a more obvious indicator, but that's just me.

Melodyne 5 with Cakewalk Sonar isn't smooth...
SteveC replied to Jaime Ramírez's topic in Cakewalk Sonar
Same here, I can't go below 100% with either NVIDIA RTX 3000 or internal Intel UHD chip. -
Cool, glad you found it!

Just to add, make sure the busses in the Track View (Shift+B) are tall enough to see the Automation Lane icon.

Ctrl+Drag on a clip will both create a clip gain envelope and allow you to drag it in one gesture. If you need to get back to it later, just Shift+Click on the existing envelope - that's the same as choosing Clip Gain from the track's Edit Filter. To go back to the clip Shift+Click on it instead.

Rewire in Nu Sonar. Won't Render Audio.
SteveC replied to Resonant Serpent's topic in Cakewalk by BandLab
I don't have any Rewire apps to test, but if you can route the incoming audio to an Aux track and record enable it during playback that does it work? -
cakewalk failed to load 80004002 (plug-ins)
SteveC replied to Pascal Auger's topic in Cakewalk by BandLab
I don't think that's the number of plugins but an error code related to loading that SSL plugin. -
I think that's accurate. But it sounds like you just want to bounce a section, not freeze the entire track? You can bounce a section/region of a soft synth, but that requires a split instrument track so that you can record the soft synth's audio track while playing back that section (in real time). Or, you can route a single instrument to an Aux track, then record the Aux track while playing back that section.

There's some plans in the works for some of this, obviously I can't give any details at this time. Interesting...

Huh... last month I opened a few old *.wrk files in CbB. Talk about forward compatibility! ?

Can anyone tell me how to set MIDI to vst association?
SteveC replied to rev's topic in Cakewalk by BandLab
If it's a plain MIDI track simply point its output to the virtual instrument (it should be in the list). -
I'd check track lanes to be sure there isn't something in there that's not visible at the parent track level.

This link seems to work.

Thanks, Nio! Appreciate it.
