  1. All I can really advise is don't let perfect become the enemy of good enough.
  2. Next time, select both tracks and edit them simultaneously.
  3. So then you probably have a much better idea of what you want to hear then I do of what I want to hear!
  4. I ended up getting a drum kit & started learning to play. I'm sure you are aware that the sound you hear on the record is NOT the sound that was in the room. They are the result of - you guessed it - lots of processing.
  5. I thought part of the idea was for the user to mix and process them as if they were real drums.
  6. This is the only place I've seen so many people complain so much about free stuff.
  7. You rebooted the computer yet? Seriously, it's well past time to update a version that is over 10 years old. CbB is so vastly improved over SPLAT, let alone 8.5.3 it's unreal. Especially for free there is absolutely no excuse not to.
  8. You could pretend to be Jon Lord and play the Hammond B-3X through a Marshall...
  9. Then it would only make sense to use those accepted industry standard pro practices to make that happen.
  10. Nope. Not quite. https://www.izotope.com/en/learn/gain-staging-what-it-is-and-how-to-do-it.html https://www.sweetwater.com/insync/gain-staging/ https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gain_stage It's your project. You can do whatever you want. Don't get mad if you don't get the results you wwant
  11. High probability that what changed is that his substandard game controller cable crapped out like so many reviewers on Amazon noted. FWIW, there seems to be quite a number of videos on YouTube about how to fix one. Not so many about fixing a Presonus or Focusrite 2 channel audio interface though....
  12. I'm guessing "no." 99.99% of these brain-dead simple issues could be solved almost instantly - without having to wait for hours, or even days, on a response to a forum post - by READING THE FLIPPING MANUAL!
  13. And why not? That thing isn't even intended for recording; it's a game controller. And a really crappy one at that. Read the Amazon reviews. Over and over about how they work for a short time and then quit working. Was is the operative word here. The way to fix this is to save up your pennies and buy a decent audio interface. I know it's not what you wanted to hear, but it's the truth; you're gonna have to spend some money.
  14. EQ. Better instruments. EQ some better instruments.
  15. Ditch that garbage and get a real audio interface with a real ASIO driver.
