  1. Some guy joined the forum this morning just to spam links to pirated software.
  2. 40 more say that a year from now (give or take) another one-post-wonder will raise this thread from the dead with the same baseless trolling.
  3. So do you have an actual question about something or did you just come here to act like a troll?
  4. Maybe you're just too smart for it. I was just a dumb mechanic for the better part of 30 years and I don't have any problems performing brain-dead simple, basic functions.
  5. Since you "use complex software all day," you should be right at home. This is complex software. You should also know by now that software does what you tell it to, not what you want it to
  6. Maybe you need to RTFM. Music making software like this isn't simple. But then, I'm biased....
  7. Error in the program mode message: 02 and 00 are transposed. It should read F0 42 30 35 4E 02 00 F7 To get Sequencer mode, replace 02 with 04. F0 42 30 35 4E 04 00 F7 Sequencer mode is what you pick if you want to use the synth as a multitimbral sound module. So far this seems to work. I created the 3 different sysex messages and can send them to change modes. Now I suppose I need to create test projects to check how it works with setting the synth to the correct mode automatically when I open one up
  8. Perhaps the moderators should just lock this thread because for some reason lazy trolls can't seem to stop dredging it up with endless repeats of the same bitch that was answered TWO YEARS AGO ON THE FIRST PAGE!
  9. Same here. I don't really care about keeping the settings; if I want to replace an effect its because the one I have there now isn't doing what I want.
  10. Absolutely. RTFM people! Probably 90% of the brain-dead simple basic functions like this can be easily solved by not being too lazy to crack open a book once in awhile.
  11. Further information: CTRL drag copies the clip and lets you reposition it. Shift drag moves the clip and keeps the same position. Straight drag let's you move the clip to anywhere
  12. Farcebook buying them immediately puts them on my "no buy" list.
  13. Yep. I recommend getting used to recording without effects and adding them later on at the mixing stage.

    5 minutes with the documentation....
  15. In order to keep having ideas flowing out, you have to keep them flowing in. When you feel like that reservoir has run dry its because, well, it has. That reservoir of creative ideas has to be replenished. To that end: 1) Read. A lot. Anything and everything. Poetry, fiction, nonfiction, news, 2) Go to the art museum. Even if you don't live near one, a lot of stuff is online. Nothing, NOTHING, compares to standing right there in the same room with something, however. It is probably worth the drive. 3) Go on a little road trip. Go somewhere you haven't been before or haven't been in a long time. Stop. Explore. Don't just drive through. 4) Find new music. Listen to stuff that you haven't heard in ages. Listen to new stuff. Check out some of those artists you keep hearing about but never got around to listening to. Get outside your comfort zone and listen to things that are really different than what you usually do. If you're a Rocker, listen to some Jazz. If you're into Country, listen to some Metal. You get the idea. I could go on, but basically just keep having new experiences. 5) I almost forgot: don't be afraid to write something crappy. There's no law that says you have to release it. But hell, if it sucks bad enough it could end up on the radio....
  16. Anyone here know if and how I can switch my Korg X3 from program to combination play mode from within CbB? Even better would be Program/ Combination/ Sequencer. I imagine any other Korg workstation would be pretty much the same. It's not like I can't reach out and press the button but more than once, I have spent an embarrassing number of minutes trying to figure out why something sounded all wrong before realizing the keyboard was in the wrong mode. I haven't found any information in the manual about this other than "push the button" unless maybe it is buried in the MIDI implementation chart and looking at that stuff makes my eyes bleed.
  17. Maybe it would help if we knew what kind of gear you're using. I've never heard of an interface that has only a stereo input.
