Remind him that those with a college education tend to make more than people who deliver pizza to support their hobby of playing bass. ?
Ummm ... Maybe....

I'm just wondering how you know what diesel oil tastes like.

If you give yourself one or two measures of count in, that won't happen.

1)The quickest way to get a million dollars as a musician is to start out with two million.
2) He's going to be competing against kids who have been playing and practicing constantly since before they were knee high to a snake.
3) College is so grossly overrated. Most kids would be better off learning a trade instead of getting suckered into the lie (and the bills!) that you have to get a college degree to get a decent job.

You're not going to want to hear this, but the solution is to ditch it and move on and not keep fighting with abandonware for Windows XP and Vista that hasn't been updated in over a decade.

I don't know why you'd want to. They help delineate the grid in blank areas where there is no data.

Sounds like a Native Instruments issue rather than a Cakewalk one

Just get a proper expression pedal and be done with it.

I think I just learned something new. I've never seen that before. I'll have to look for that.

You can't. What would be the purpose? Drum hits only have an attack and then a decay. You can't make them sustain longer or shorter than their decay anyway.

Or you could scoot over to Pluginboutique, pick up iZotope's Exponential Phoenix Stereo Reverb for $10 and avoid the hours of testing. It will sound better than anything you've ever heard. Once I got Phoenix I wanted to change the reverb on every existing project anyway.

I bet that 5 minutes with the documentation would have answered this....

I don't, but you might have better luck in the instruments and effects subforum than here.

But then I'm not an advocate of using a ridiculous amount of plug ins. I always wait until I'm finished recording before I even turn on an EQ. I want my songs to sound good with out effects. If it doesn't, then I re record or use a different instrument or amp setting. Then when I do add effects my song goes from good to excellent.
Bingo.
If it doesn't sound good without effects, it most likely won't sound good with them.

I recommend getting used to recording without any effects, especially resource hogs like iZotope etc.
Effects need to be done in the mixing stage.

What does this have to do with deals?

What audio interface do you have?

I think the business model is "loose money on every sale but make up for it in volume."

I don't think that is going to work. Sustain pedals are more like an on/ off switch and expression pedals are continuously variable.

The Dime noise gate is fantastic.

I really need more virtual instruments like I need a hole in my head but these are intriguing to say the least. And for a good cause too? I'm in.
