  1. Yep. First thing I thought of was a plugin in demo mode.
  2. Anything half decent is gonna cost real money. Guitar is especially hard to fake.
  3. More reasons why it pays to learn how to read and write music at least half-assed. Notes on staff paper are platform-agnostic and completely independent of any and all software, plugins, licensing schemes and even the actual instruments themselves.
  4. Since you haven't given us any information about your system, we have no idea what the problem is either. What processor? How much RAM? What audio interface do you have and what driver mode are you using?
  5. Why not do the sensible thing and move all the space hogging files to another drive?
  6. They aren't. But if the only VSTi you have in your project is a drum kit, what do you think your new MIDI track is going to get routed to? You would have to put another VSTi in your project. I leave everything connected all the time so that it is all available instantly.
  7. You can't have a track routed to something that isn't there.
  8. I'm not sure what you're asking. The piano roll only works on MIDI tracks. How do you have this external synth connected?
  9. And you do a fantastic job of hiding the fact you're a nice person....
  10. Y'all are talking into the wind. Another one-post-wonder who hasn't been back.
  11. As someone with a degree in humor, I understand the difference between a statistical fallacy and a joke. I suspect Mr. Carlin did as well.
  12. I didn't like beer until I got to Germany and had real beer for the first time.
  13. Let this be a lesson to everyone who sees this.
  14. This forum is for Cakewalk. The BandLab app is an entirely different animal.
  15. Learn some basic keyboard playing skills. You can slow the tempo down as much as you need and clean up what you played if you have to or you can step record everything. God! I can't even imagine entering that many notes in the piano roll mouse click by mouse click! Just thinking about doing that gives me carpal tunnel.
  16. Getting it back is usually WAY easier than it was developing it in the first place.
  17. Because this is Texas, we had the traditional Perro Caliente with Melón de Agua and washed it down with some Cerveza del Raíz.
  18. What is this "retired" y'all are talking about?
  19. I agree with this as well. When you're new to something, you have no real way to know what you don't know. FYI, and for anyone else coming across this: these days manuals are almost exclusively found online.
  20. Well, its the 5th now and we're OK; we made it through.
  21. I think it is, quite frankly, stupid. In my former life, I used to be able to fix cars that no one else could because I would do RTFM first instead of after days of banging my head against the wall and throwing $$$$ of parts around. I even more than once had a colleague ask me for help after having torn a car apart trying to "fix" something that was a design feature! Of course, this forum would be considerably shorter if people would RTFM. The "songs" subforum might be a lot longer, though....
