Yeah. I'm thinking "if this 'holy grail' amp builder is such a superstar, how come nobody has heard of him and why has he only sold four amps?

What you need to do is update and the mp3 encoder is included. Instead of mucking around with 15 year old obsolete, unsupported software.

Coming to Netflix: the most disastrous concert ever
Byron Dickens replied to bitflipper's topic in The Coffee House
More disastrous than Dimebag Darrell's last show? More disastrous than the Rolling Stones' at Altamont? -
I work very hard at limiting the amount of plugins I have. Fewer choices , I find, keep me more creative and more productive. Just the console EQ and compressor in Mixbus 32C fill probably 90% of my needs. IK's Sunset Sound is the only reverb I need except for the odd special effect.

And what people who worship numbers don't understand is that they don't always tell the whole story. Especially if you aren't looking at the right ones....

Notes from foreign lands - Cakewalk vs Studio One
Byron Dickens replied to jkoseattle's question in Q&A
I have a really hard time believing that one of the oldest DAWs in the world is unsupported. If he had told me that, I would have gone right up the food chain.... -
OS Wipe, Re-Install CW and Older SONAR Plugins?
Byron Dickens replied to DCMG's topic in Cakewalk by BandLab
Just how do you expect them to know what you have and haven't thought of? You think they're psychics? Nevermind that logical, orderly troubleshooting requires going through a set of logical, orderly steps. In order.- 8 replies

Byron Dickens replied to Keni's topic in Feedback Loop
Yeah. I find them mostly just annoying. -
I remember exactly what it was like. I remember thinking "this is going to take a lot of hard work."

That looks supremely cool for people who use track icons!

I just purchased the Sound Canvas VA soft synth...
Byron Dickens replied to Luc Lachance's topic in Instruments & Effects
What would any of you think if I walked up to you and asked you a question and when you started to answer I just turned around and walked off without saying anything? -

Byron Dickens replied to Luc Lachance's topic in Instruments & Effects
You do know that it is extremely rude to ask a question and then just walk off without even acknowledging that someone answered, right? -

The OP's question must not have been very important.... -
Well, ain't you special.

Wow, another fantastic piece! On combining the electronic and orchestral elements and making them sound like they belong together.

Past that, then you get into EQ, frequency masking, phase cancellation and song arrangement issues. As an example: if you play two different guitar parts in the same range, they conflict with each other and you won't hear either one very well.

You seem to me to be falling victim to - the best word I can think of is numberitis. Looking at bare numbers on a spec sheet. Bare numbers don't tell you the whole story. The whole 20Hz - 20kHz range of human hearing is purely theoretical. Not only can nobody with any significant number of years behind them can really hear to those extremes, there really isn't much useful information towards the extremes anyway. You are much better off with a good microphone with a frequency range of "only" 30Hz - 15kHz than a crappy one with the whole 20 - 20K. Forget spec sheets. What do your ears tell you?
