  1. Wow, indeed! Amazing stuff, Jonathan & Co, thanks for the hard work! I'm really looking forward to tasting it! ??
  2. I'm hoping you're right. To be honest, in this modern way of releasing small/incremental software updates often I've been bit by more bugs than ever before, and I'm not talking about Cakewalk here. And I also believe the constant releases encourage developing low hanging fruits in general, at least to some extent... so I am thrilled that Bandlab is creating something that takes a long time! ? I've been a bit worried that we've not seen any really big updates since the Bandlab phase started. Don't get me wrong, I love the updates we've been getting and am very grateful indeed, but I've started to become a bit nervous that we'd not be treated with "big new features", like stuff you see in releases such as Cubase 10. That would risk making Cakewalk dated in the long run. So again, I am thrilled that Bandlab is creating something that takes a long time! I'll gladly wait, even though I started this thread... ☺️
  3. No, it's actually available on Windows as well. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Steinberg_Nuendo
  4. Hehe, yes I was around then as well, I've been around since Pro Audio 8.5 or so. (In fact, I invested in the lifetime updates almost exactly one year before the demise of Cakewalk Inc.! ?) I agree with all your arguments and sincerely hope you are right. But I myself cannot claim any inside knowledge into the finances of Bandlab or rather more importantly, their priorities. As a "free side product", I do get a feeling that it might "sit looser", relatively speaking, compared to a product that actually makes the company money, but if the company is rich, then we're good. (And I did get the impression that Meng was indeed rather... solvent. ) Sorry, I did not intend to start a full scale debate about Bandlab's business model, so I'll just end it here. I'm off to re-explore the great SysEx features of Cakewalk with my almost forgotten Access Virus B! ?
  5. Exactly, those were some of my thoughts. And it also seemed that there was unusually low participation from staff during a couple of months (although it just goes to show we are in fact very spoiled with that normally)... ? Anyway, I'm at ease now that Bandlab showed some signs of life. ?
  6. English: A few years ago, Cakewalk tried to create a Sonar version for Mac OS, but it was ultimately cancelled. Please see (and translate) the discussion below for more details.
  7. Great tip, thanks! I already use X-Mouse Button Control, but hadn't thought of actually mapping keys to Cakewalk specifically. Brilliant!
  8. Thanks for the confirmation Jonathan, calming down over here now. You guys rock, keep up the great work!!
  9. Considering the recent relative silence from Bandlab, I just wanna double-check that development of my favorite DAW is still ongoing? (If it was a paid product I wouldn't worry as much, but the future of a free product just seems a little less certain, that's all.) Stay safe and keep on truckin' everyone! ??
  10. I searched and found the thread below. Maybe some of the answers might help? Good luck!
  11. Well, NKS integration seems to be a popular request, so who knows...
  12. Agreed, this is a brilliant feature in Live and Logic that would be great to have in Cakewalk as well! Check out how it works in Live (I've linked to about 1:23 where the interesting bits start):
  13. ...but I'm not sure I agree with Shane McFee's analysis that Cakewalk's popularity is dwindling... judged by this forum at least, there seems to be a lot of new users around, which is great!
  14. What version of CbB are you using? I've actually stayed at 2019.09 so far, as the later releases introduced a lot of buffer changes that seemed to caused a lot of stir. Maybe they're solved ny now, but I'm in an important phase and can't have disturbances. Sorry if this is obvious, but as you mention "buzzing" and distortion in a heavy project: have you tried different (= larger) ASIO buffer sizes? In another thread recently, someone was complaining about latency but used plugins that absolutely required big buffers to work properly, like Output's Kontakt stuff etc. Edit: Thanks for the tip about True Dynamics by Kazrog, will check it out. Seems they adore it at Gearslutz.
  15. Hm, weird, I have not had problems with the timing of bus automation, I have been automating many bus volume levels and bus effect parameters during the years. Also to create cool effects & cuts. Are there any specific plugins that cause issues?
  16. Very inspiring to hear all the things you like! Any other interesting comparisons to Studio One? I've heard a lot of good things about it, and I'm genuinely curious about the pros and cons compared to Cakewalk.
  17. That was a great thread with good info but with an unfortunate cryptic title. The poster of this thread might have seen it otherwise!
  18. Haha, I have actually thought the very same thing! ? No news is good news.
  19. I'm curious to try Early Access for the first time and have a question: I read in the Guidelines thread that if you want to remove the EA version and roll back to the previous regular version, you have to completely uninstall and reinstall. Will I lose all my Cakewalk settings then or is there an easy way to keep them? I don't want to interrupt my production too much...
  20. Interesting, what do you mean with "sort by OS"? (I myself would prefer a manually selectable "5 favorites" in the right-click plugin menu instead of the recently most used... Although I've a manual workaround by manually creating a "Favorite" category, as suggested by Scook.)
  21. I'm not sure I followed the discussion properly, but could "Instances" be a better word?
  22. Wow, this sounds great, programming drums will be a lot easier with this change! Thanks a lot for listening! Really looking forward to try this out, hopefully within the Early Access time frame (this week)!
  23. I've been following this thread and I'm happy the problems have been solved! It's an educational example of how important something as seemingly unrelated as video drivers can be for an audio application. Good to keep in mind! And I'm really impressed by @Matthew Sorrels! Great work! (You don't work for Cakewalk, do you?) Oh, it might be a good idea to add "[SOLVED]" to the title?
  24. Well, the horse is alive and kicking! ☺️ The MIDI Transform Tool is great, but maybe most useful if one needs to raise/lower volume in a more complex way! MIDI Transform tool https://www.cakewalk.com/Documentation?product=Cakewalk&language=4&help=EditingMIDI.25.html
  25. My point exactly, @David Baay! @Noel Borthwick Any chance you guys could consider making Duplicate Selected Clip(s) respecting Snap By? (See my first post in this thread for an explanation with images.) You would not risk degrading any existing users' workflows, since Snap By gives the same results as Snap To, currently. You would just increase the usability of the feature. It would make especially drum programming a lot faster, and I'm not alone in my request! For me, the whole point with a Duplicate Clip function is that it should be quick to use and "just work", and require a minimum of settings adjustments and selections beforehand. Having snap set to Whole and By would cover most of my duplication situations. (It would even work when programming bassdrums, that start on beat 1.)
