  1. I looked last night... I had 2 copies of the same input coming from the pre amp... one went to a compressor. The compressor had the output gain turned up and i didn't notice. The two were then sent to the rme as channel 1 left and right.. these two channels saw the glitch. The glitch was definitely driven by volume, but the problem was at the rme. Channel 2 left and right was not impacted. I have never seen a clipping track mess up another. I've had my rme a might long time now. 2008? I'm not sure but it has been a while. It was not lightly clipping. Only at the loudest moments did the glitch happen. The digital glitch was less pronounced on the unclipped track.
  2. I got a phone call. I think it was from a cell phone. The phone was muted but on. I did have one overdriven signal going into the rme ucx, but that was a different channel. I suppose it could have been the rme... idk
  3. I'm guessing I overdrove something. The mic? The pre? I'm going to have to dive back in and try to recreate it, but I thought I'd ask you all. It was a tube mic I was recording with. Guitar aimed at it. Sounds like clipping but it is not.
  4. I send main outs through EQ in my interface. I regularly lift the high end b/c I'm a little handicapped there. So are the others I live with. But I don't leave it like that all the time. I definitely don't 're-master', but I do EQ to taste. Sometimes, when I can't hear the bass as I like, I use MBassador from Melda. This has helped me make bass audible through cheap headphones and inferior stereos. I think it doesn't do much that a tube plugin doesn't do. Getting the bass right has been something I have struggled with since ever.
  5. Thanks. I'm not sure that is for me, but it was interesting to watch. Thanks. I'm not sure much of that is for me, but it is neat.
  6. Does anyone have any links or experience?

    Rip Thanks for the music.
  8. I would not use a script probably. You can select all notes in a row hitting the keyboard note.
  9. Jane’s Addiction to Cancel Tour After Onstage Fight https://www.nytimes.com/2024/09/16/arts/music/janes-addiction-tour-canceled.html?smid=nytcore-android-share
  10. I've really only used it to learn parts from recordings. I never managed a result I liked more than the original. Feed it this and see what it says. Lol.
  11. I liked this. Thanks for sharing. I love that channel too. He's great. His interviews around John Prine are interesting too. I saw 18 shows with Jerry. Lots of others since. The day Jerry died I was working at the Boulder School of Massage as a receptionist and at first I didn't believe it. Then I just started bawling. It's the only time in my life this has happened to me. I was sent home from work that day. It was a very sad day. Even now, I'm surprised at what his passing triggered in me. I don't have words. I love listening to his playing. One of my nicest compliments was once listening to the Dead, my dad asked me if it was me. Ha ha ha! 🙂 So sweet!
  12. When working on mixes, I listen more repeatedly. When working on performing, I rarely listen back. Mixing for a performer can be disappointing bc maybe they listen once or twice. It is a compliment when a performer enjoys your mix enough to return to it.
  13. You did not misinterpret. Do they really all sound the same though?
  14. This is a great mic. It comes with a tiny pop filter. The 414 does too but it is bigger and I use the one on the blue bottle. I skip it on the 414. The blue is hypercardiod. Just terrific. The 414 is more versatile and there are more ways to miss use it. My blue is 20 years old and light blue.
  15. There is an interesting discrepancy between how many plugins the browser shows vs how many the scanner finds. I think the scanner found 390 or something and the browser shows 273. Hmmm. ? My guess is 2 versions of the same plugin get counted twice when scanning and once in the browser.
  16. This makes me want to count. Why don't I have a problem? Probably spend too much on hardware. Just got an eccos pedals that is fun.
  17. I read stuff like this while trying to harmonize with the AC... This mode does not appear frequently in the world’s music, the notable exception being in jazz, where, thanks to its amenable harmonic nature, it is extremely useful in modulation. Jazz musicians call it the “Lydian-dominant” mode because it is a cross between Lydian and the “dominant seventh” mode, which is a nickname for Mixolydian. More practically, it is called “sharp-four flat-seven” (or “aug-four minor-seven” more recently and more correctly). Phrases such as example 12.5 are typical in bebop. Example 12.5 Indeed, jazz players usually cut their teeth by learning to improvise fluently in this mode in all twelve keys—a high-literacy stunt few jazz musicians have ever regretted.
  18. For the amount of long term storage I need, I can't justify the cost.

  20. I cleaned an akg c414. I have not done others, but I'll bet some could use it. Some have been hard used. My oldest were new in the 90s. And yes, you really can't clean a ribbon. You can replace one. The royers come with one free replacement for original owner. I think it's good to know you can do this maintenance. I cannot tell a dirty mic by listening unless it is really bad.
