Run the Product Manager to update. Release notes: Song Creator Clicking on a Song Structure could lead to a crash. Using a “Replace … on Track” function could lead to a crash. Song Track Using “Change Tempo” to increase the tempo in a song block caused a crash. Edit Play Style Changing Amount for a future hit instrument (shaker/tambourine) could lead to a crash. Known Issue On Windows 7 with a non-aero theme in use, tooltips may not work well – they are not displayed properly or they don’t always go away when they should.

Funny that. I'd forgotten all about v2 being a physical copy when I stumbled on mine yesterday...and tossed it in the trash bin.
-
Here's the thing. You're getting all of the above, SO5 Artist included, for 2/3 of the cost of Artist alone. Plus, an audio interface with a street price of $100. So, totally agree with "best value for a new user".
-
And Studio One 5 Artist now supports 3rd party VSTs and Rewire without having to pay another$80-$100! Nice! I went back to SO when SPlat splattered. No major complaints.

MS Update never offered me the 2004 version. I tried the app you linked to, and 2009 installed just fine. Weird.

I'm quite fond of my M-Audio BX8 monitors. They also have the BX5. Worth a check. As in check out, not write a check! Black Friday's coming! https://www.m-audio.com/bx5d3 (list: $149/each) https://www.m-audio.com/bx8d3 (list: $249/each)

L'otary2 is a decent emulation of a Leslie, but it's CPU-heavy. And I bought it on sale some years ago. But I just picked up the AmpliTube Leslie package on sale, and that's just plain sweet.
-
Awesome! Finally able to add this to MAX. I've already added the SVX2 package, so I feel good to go now.
-
Love it! But why not go all digital with UVI's $399 Toy Suite library? ?
-
Now playing in the background. Very good! Rerouted from my PC speakers to my main monitors!

Nothing for me, but I wanted to use the $10 off coupon I got for shopping at Whole Paycheck a couple of weeks ago, so I picked up a couple of SanDisk 128GB USB 3.0 sticks. That's a lot of backup storage for the $30 I paid.

The only thing I want is an updated Fire TV Stick 4K. I get occasional audio dropouts, and after a bit of time, audio loses sync with video and I have to restart the stick. Pain in the butt, but the audio dropouts are a real nuisance. Happens with YouTube TV, Netflix, Prime Video and Disney+ on both my Sony 4K and Samsung HD sets, so the problem is definitely the stick. And they're not releasing an updated 4K stick at this time, so I'll wait for BF.

SpectrLayers 7.0.20 update (not a deal, and full Kontakt not required)
TheMaartian replied to balinas's topic in Deals
Nope. I licensed it to my PC. No dongle for me. -
Latest v5. How I tested was I opened a song with reMIDI, Scaler and a Presence XT Orchestra VI. I opened the Scaler UI, then doubleclicked on each of the 3 track names, all of which entered edit mode. I was using the VST3 version.
-
No problem missing doubleclicks in Studio One, so I'll stick with 2.1.1.

Using ChordPulse-created MIDI files in Cakewalk
TheMaartian replied to Kevin Wayne's topic in Instruments & Effects
In ChordPulse File | Export As MIDI File then tick the option for "All instruments in one track (format 0)", the second from the bottom options. That will give you a MIDI Type 0 file. Type 1 splits out the instruments to individual tracks. -
Interesting DAW Testing Results: And the winner is.....
TheMaartian replied to Bapu's topic in The Coffee House
The Smooth theme dev is back posting in the thread, so it's not dead. He hasn't finished v2.5 yet (with full 1080p support). With the current v2.1 4K version, it ONLY supports 100% and 200%. If you pick 125 or 150, it'll be all wonky. -
I just noticed that they have broken out Captain Beat and charge extra for it. Sheesh. Guess I was fortunate to have the bundle before Beat was released. It got added to my existing bundle at no additional cost.
-
+1 for Captain Plugins, especially now with v5. -100,000 for Odesi. Please, please don't waste your money or time.
-
+1 for LoopBe1. I bought a license for LoopBe30, mostly to support the dev. I also tried LoopMIDI, but it had noticeable latency when playing live. You'll still need a host for Sound Canvas.
-
From what I just read, Sound Canvas VA is only available as a VST. VirtualMIDISynth is a device driver. You need a host for a VST. I haven't needed or tried his MIDIMapper driver, so I can't offer any experience there. You might be able to run Sound Canvas as an executable (https://www.hermannseib.com/english/savihost.htm) and route MIDI from ChordPulse to it (via MIDIMapper).
-
They haven't posted the change log yet in the Support section. At least the update didn't crater my current install.
-
If you haven't installed CoolSoft's VirtualMIDISynth to replace MS's generic piece of garbage, I recommend it. The one caveat on the soundfont you use is that the whole SF file gets loaded into RAM. Kinda messed me up until I upgraded from 8GB to 16GB. And I went back to a smaller soundfont. http://coolsoft.altervista.org/en/virtualmidisynth I'm currently using JJazzLab-SoundFont.sf2 (316MB). The Arachno soundfont is also quite useable and is even smaller (148MB). https://www.jjazzlab.com/en/download/

For example, here's the generated type 1 MIDI file that includes the nice break at the end of the chorus. https://www.dropbox.com/s/j1bo37eto1fo97h/Hotel California v2.mid?dl=0
