Waves Perpetually Renamed Sale - Now 40% of Everything!
TheMaartian replied to Larry Shelby's topic in Deals
A take-off on the admittedly racist joke from decades ago. Apologies in advance to those of you who are of Italian descent. What nationality are flat tires? Italian. Dago WUP WUP WUP WUP WUP. -
I do, but it's way too large to attach to a PM. I put it on my Google Drive. Here's the link. Let me know if that works. https://drive.google.com/file/d/1_Jq12FPbrg7i6fYhS6ayvLvQSbNpVA-E/view?usp=sharing

Waves Perpetually Renamed Sale - Now 40% of Everything!
TheMaartian replied to Larry Shelby's topic in Deals
Waves is a black hole. While they have many good and useful plugins, the Waves shells SUCK BIG TIME! And don't get me started on WUP. If you have never installed a Waves plugin, stop while you're ahead. I got so sick of dealing with all of the Waves BS, that I installed ZERO of the couple of dozen plugins I have licenses for when I replaced by DAW computer. -
in Session Audio Riff Generation: Outside - In Edition
TheMaartian replied to Larry Shelby's topic in Deals
They do...if you buy both editions at the same time. $200 vs $500. Scroll down the page linked to above. Includes the 3 expansions for the Outside In edition. -
I use Gig Performer in the studio, but it's primarily designed for live performance. Think of Mainstage, Forte, Cantabile. It's a high-end VST host with scripting support for extending its functionality. It is more flexible, while being easier to use, than any of those other 3 hosts. The wiring view is spectacular. I use it all the time. Gig Performer Check out Trey Gunn's (King Crimson) review. One user came up with this. Here's another example. One more.

MSuperLooper works great in Gig Performer. Here's a screen shot of the Global Rackspace. Here's the GP forum thread discussing it. MSuperLooper in Gig Performer

I got a password back in less than 5 minutes. My upgrade price was $27. I own only Expose. Others who have additional MTM products may be offered a lower price. Anyone?

I snagged the True Keys bundle on a P.A. special a couple of years ago for $99. Haven't seen it for less that $199 since. Can't remember what I paid for the Ravenscroft, but it was a decent sales price. Modern U is finally on sale! Woo hoo!

From the Softube Tape web page: If you run PreSonus Studio One (Pro or Artist), you can not only use Tape as a standard plug-in. Adding Tape to your MixFX slot gives you Tape Multitrack. Tape Multitrack includes all the goodies of Tape, but in addition, you get selectable crosstalk between each individual track — and you can easily control the Tape Multitrack settings from a single interface. The Tape and Tape Multitrack license is one and the same. This means that if you're not a Studio One user but at some future point decide to switch to that DAW, you will already have Tape Multitrack installed, licensed and ready to go. Softube Tape and Tape Multitrack Note that plugin scanners for all other DAWs and plugin hosts will fail the "Tape Multi Track.vst3" file. That is expected behavior.

I lied again. The final 20 files are a half gig each. That's gotta be TVBO. Taking the fast train...to nowhere. -

I tried running it overnight, but failed to notice the stupid little popup message in the URL bar blocking multiple downloads. Something turned it on around the 22nd file. Had to disable that "feature". ? Just finished and installed Black Grand MkII. D/l'ing the second piano now. -

Once you install it using the Product Manager, you have to authorize it. After I installed it, it showed up in the left Instrument column with a LOCK icon on it. Once I registered it with the Authorization Manager using the serial number from the My Products section on their website, it became available for play. NOTE: If your watch the video on YouTube, there are a couple of useful links in its description.

I installed the Auth Manager. That worked. Thanks for the tip.

I hate trying to get new IKM stuff to run. I downloaded and installed the Art Deco Piano (supposed to auto-register, but I "registered" the serial number twice anyway), but it still shows up as LOCKED in Sample Tank 4. When I click on the ADP logo, it just reloads the IKM product manager. I'm at a loss. Never have this kind of problem with Kontakt.

I don't know anything about this VST, but "Devious Duck" would be a cool band name. Not to be confused with "Howard the Duck".

+1 for Scaler 2. Of all the MIDI chord/progression tools I've purchased, Scaler 2 is Top 3. Captain Plugins and Cthulhu are the remaining two.

Now? Gotta be better ones available. But for a VI that's at least 10 years old? Really good! CoreBass Pear was a go-to AUB VI for a long time. Nice review here. EDIT: Just checked. All of the CoreBass Pear files I have are dated 5/26/2011.

I enjoyed it! Now I'm off to YT to listen to the live version of "My Name is Ruin". Both versions...studio and live. EDIT: Now TWO live versions!

Just got that email. I thought they were releasing some sound packs for Multiphonics. Nope. Just trying to sell me a second license. Too bad. nothing for me.

If Waves just used a single shell (best) or a single shell per version (tolerable), I might reinstall the boatload of Waves plugins I've purchased over the years. But... a) I got really tired of all of the shells created b) I got really tired of all of the Waves VST scanning issues with some of the music apps I use c) I got super tired of WUP F'em.
