  1. I'd say no, it does not. It's an interesting question, to be sure. If the Q is "does musical inventiveness wane?" Then for me that's a no. I'll be creating melodies, baselines and rhythms in my urn. If the Q is "is there less energy for it as we get older?" Then 10-4 good buddy.
  2. I like the way the parts all slowly fold in. The guitars in that arrangement and blend are quite good. Lyrics of course are a treat, and the mix is very clear. Maybe the piano sounds a bit reverbed back, compared to the other elements. But that's okay. I love this song. The vocal mix and arrangement is super creative. cheers! -Tom
  3. Groove is the universal language. You can't misinterpret bounce. loved it. cheers, -Tom
  4. I like the steely bite those guitars have. This has a bit of the Craig Chaquico vibe which I dig. cheers, -Tom

    New Dawn

Her voice is exceptional, an operatic/pop mix, very novel. So that's cool. I liked the mix, powerful with clarity. Professional! -1 pt because those aren't hiking boots. nice one! cheers, -Tom
  6. Friggin' great. Loved the guitars and especially that tele, a great contrast to your killer strat. The drummer wins the video because of his enthusiasm. Top drawer, gents. cheers, -Tom
  7. Thank you for the trip back to 1986. Much obliged. Um, any chance for vocals? And a weird haircut? The snare and drums generally seem perfectly placed in the mix. cheers, -Tom
  8. Loved it. Jazz carnies at their most unpredictable telling a hepcat story. Everytime I click on a song of yours - no clue what's behind door # three. Love that. cheers, -Tom
  9. I agree with Mr. Sprouse, the contrasting timbres keep it interesting. Well chosen. Sorry but gas giant made me think of myself after dinner. Your soundtrack doesn't work at all for that. I always enjoy whatever space your songs are in. cheers, -Tom

    OH LORD

That is a very clear and smooth vocal performance, and with the lyrics create a moody brooding vibe. Well done. For a mix idea, maybe that constant 16th hi hat could drop in and out. nice one! cheers, -Tom
  11. So many curious and wonderful things. Love the early Talking Heads vibe. Enjoyed vocals with the reverb coming on and off. I wonder if you could have fun with some varied panning of the vocals? I listened in headphones, the vocals sound great in the mix as is, but for a song like this you could have one line coming in panned left, next line panned right, moving things around like that. Just an idea, and you don't appear to have any shortage of those as is. cheers, -Tom
  12. Super chill, the dobro adds the old-school to the nu school. Very cool comp. For me the bass needs a dip cut somewhere around 250hz maybe? It's eating a lot of the energy of this track, maybe the higher end elements will benefit from less bass presence in the mix. YMMV and I'm wrong a lot. but excellence in chill. cheers, -Tom
  13. Thanks Fleer! Would look forward to learning how big it got when expanded and installed. Ideally the developers could put each patches' samples in a separate folder for each preset. Then you could just toss out the folders of samples that are all filler, no killer.
  14. Well I just ran through Keyscape looking for the patches that might get close to the four presets in MK that I like. No dice. Do I want to pop 99 just so I can use 4 MK patches out of the hundred or so they have, and eat 50GB on my hard drive just for four patches? Possibly. all playing, no talk:
  15. I bought Freakshow just because of the beyond great anti-marketing.
  16. Well, while we are being the marketing department, it's very close to indignant and indigent. Now let's hear more about this new snowmobile library! Must have!
  17. Hi Nigel. same thing happened to me, v1 became unstable. I was loathe to upgrade all these years, did so last year. Try Musicians Friend, they do a 10 or so percent off of things quite often. Now $222 USD. https://www.musiciansfriend.com/pro-audio/spectrasonics-omnisphere-2-upgrade?pdpSearchTerm=omnisphere&tNtt=Omnisphere&tAt=item&tAv=Spectrasonics Omnisphere 2 Upgrade May not work if you are in South Africa or such? The upgrade itself is pretty nice if a bit underwhelming, it's a lot more patches piled on top of a lot of great patches already.
  18. So close!!! If it aggregated all our data, it could come up with: "Most proficient users who produce >10 completed songs a year use (compressor x) on their drum bus"
  19. If you find yourself equidistant from all 13 basses, would you starve to death? Buridan's (b)*****
  20. Realizing I might have encouraged or goaded you a bit into acquiring a music man? I Must say excellent choice. The red pops. The maple neck will play like butter. The HH will have deep balls for days, assuming it has an active preamp ? I have the Bongo with the HH, and I put tapewound strings on it. Way feely! Noice bayzz.
