I have a song nearing completion that needs a female lead vocal. I have been looking out for a suitable voice at local open mic nights etc. without too much success an I am thinking paying a session singer may be the best option. Googeling pulls up a number of sites offering the services of singers online that will record the vocal for you. Prices vary a lot depending on the profile, experience etc. of the singer. I was wondering is anyone here had experience using one of these services. Locating a singer is a bit of a trawl through various "showreels" looking for one that sounds right. Some sites have "sounds like" tags which helps a bit but but unfortunatly for me you don't get sounds like Anne-Marie Helder, Hayley Griffiths, Christina Booth or Annie Haslem.

Kontakt instruments for the full version of Kontakt.

These are decent freebies and worth the bandwidth and disk space (IMHO)

I have SSD4 platinum but never use it, I dislike the interface and workflow. I am going to try the demo and see if this is any better, I can upgrade for $49 if there is a significant improvement I may do that as there are some decent sounds.

But use 20190814 instead and the names can then be sorted so the most recent is on top

And a double album at that!

I have been staying away from this thread but the deal is getting really tempting now.So sorry if this has been asked before but I have a quick question regarding jam points. If you use jam points is the value of the qualifying purchase the list price or the list price minus the jam points for qualifying for the group buy bonus products. For example if I bought the Amplitube Leslie for 129 Euros less max jam points could I sill add other products up to 129 Euros?

I will take that as a compliment!

I have them through Compose Cloud and they are all pretty good, probably the best of this type of library, and Voices of the Opera actually made it to one of my finished tracks,

FREE Jay Maas Signature Series Drums LE Released (Kontakt Player)
Vernon Barnes replied to Pragi's topic in Deals
I got this a while ago. Its quite a good freebee and well worth the bandwidth. And as its Kontakt Player you get a NI serial number. No guarantees but tis may put you in the frame for a crossgrade to full Kontakt at some point.- 1 reply

The one I have is EW composer Cloud and I think I get good value as they keep adding quality new content and I find a lot of useful stuff in libraries I would not have bought outright. I bought an air bundle for very little and don't see what they currently offer and their record of new releases would make the sub worth while.

PSP L'otary2 + B-Scanner Organ Leslie and Vibrato Plugin Bundle
Vernon Barnes replied to Larry Shelby's topic in Deals
Great value for the bundle! I like these two. L'otary probably does not do the dirty side as well a Melda's Vintage rotary (my favourite) but it's very versatile. The scanner is useful as a different type of chorus device. Most Hammond VSTi / Libraries have these built in but its nice to have one with a different character and of course you can use them on all sorts of sounds, the scanner sounds very good on clean guitar parts. -
I tend to end up using the basic vowel as pads most of the time, so they are a bit of a sledge hammer to crack a nut for me. I am always tempted when this type of library is on sale for some reason even though I don't really get the value out of the ones I have. I will be passing this time.

That's what I would like to know!

A quick update on the electric violin and cello. Articulations can be changed by velocity switching, key switches or cc. You need to set this up for your preference. If you use the "master" NKI you should be able to switch between all the available articulations. I have not set it up and got it working as I want it yet but this should remove any reservations I had about these instruments. Also its worth noting that the mod wheel is set for expression, like many other orchestral libraries.
-
I think they need to go through an amp or amp sim at least, just like an electric guitar, I think there is some amp/cab baled into the sound but Amplitube improves the sound a lot, in a way I have not achieved by putting a regular violin library through an amp sim. Very comparable to the violin, the same comments apply. (except its lower ?) I am probably not going to get much chance to play further until the end of the deal.
-
Well, i ignored the advice ? and bought the violin and cello. I have only had a brief run through the NKIs and I think I will find them useful. I have been looking for an electric violin library for some time for a project where I want something a little different from my standard violin libraries. I need to dig deeper though and work out the best way of switching articulations (at first glance there do not appear to be key-switches). It may need multiple instances to get the full performance??? I had a quick look at the included effects, they provide a reasonable variety of sound shaping such a screamer, distortion, chorus, rotor, phaser, delay etc. but I think I will probably end up running through Amplitube most of the time.

Probably making my order tomorrow.

Finally sorted my password reset problems, with help from Jesse and Tyler on the 8Dio support chat. I was very impressed by the responsive nature of the support!

I looked at one of there deals before. I may be wrong but I am pretty sure you have to subscribe £20 a month and you just cant go an buy one of the deals

Looks like 8Dio have stolen this ones thunder for me!

I am seriously considering the electric violin and cello, the demo videos sound excellent. The clarinet is also tempting at $28. I have some password reset issues at the moment which will give me some more thinking time. The flash sale is certainly the thing to watch as the discounts there are much better than the coupon codes. it says "Check back for new promotions, releases, and a new set of weekly flash sales all month long." so it may be worth waiting to see what comes along before using the coupon.

some of the flash sale items have much bigger discounts than 40%. So there are very good deals even if the coupons don't work. Also personal 50% discounts have been sent to "VIP" customers so if you are an existing customer check your emails.
