  1. Hi Mr. Cakewalk and Mrs. Sonar, after proving the potential of this DAW with your redesign of the Track Manager, I'd like to ask you another favor. Could you create another browser window for the VST Parameters and the Remote Control (like in FL Studio --> see photo?) This would be soooo cool!! And of course, it could be much better than it is in FL. For example, it would be great if each VST parameter had a specific color when assigned to a remote, and if you could see the assigned remote CTRL command right next to it. Make Sonar great again 😁
  2. I just love it - it's great!!! 😁 Finally in color and I can see all active echoes at a glance - and MSR, etc - It's an insane tool now and it will be my new favorite command view in Sonar.
  3. and sometimes, when you change the track assignment of the MIDI tracks in the SynthRack editor, such changes can also occur... In this case (picture) I changed (in Synthrack) from one MIDI Track to another πŸ˜… the old VST parameters will then remain in the previous track as "orphaned" If the orphans are then deleted and the remaining envelopes removed, they will all be there again the next time the project is started, despite saving. At least, that's how it is for me. You can delete the orphans individually (by delete Envelope), which closes the clip editor window completely. With a hundred orphans, you'll probably spend an hour sitting there.
  4. @Wookiee I have also experienced saving it in one representation and then the next time I started the project it was in the other representation 🫑
  5. For the past year, I've been working a lot with MIDI tracks, VST parameters, envelopes, and remote controls. I'm basically studying the stuff, and that's when I noticed something. It's not random...
  6. Hi, maybe I'll figure it out someday: sometimes one view appears in the clip/track editor and sometimes the other...? In the two photos, you can see the VST parameter envelopes of a plugin in the Track Pane --> Clip Editor. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- To clarify this a little more precisely, I must add that both images show the same plugin/soft synth in the same project. If anyone has figured it out before me, I'd be happy to hear from you.
  7. Thanks for the message and your effort. I don't think the question was understood correctly. The point is that the remote is assigned to a VST envelope. I may not have been able to express myself with the greatest possible technical precision, but my statement referred exclusively to the hierarchical position of the Remote Control assigned to an envelope.
  8. Hi, one more question regarding "Remote Control"? There's something I don't understand: Even though I've muted all tracks and turned off all echoes in all tracks, Sonar receives incoming MIDI CCs and still controls the soft synth after following Remote settings (CC27 Chn-7 Spire Vol) (foto beyond)...? Does that mean MIDI Remote has absolute priority and is above everything else in the hierarchy? The command flow can only be deactivated if I delete the remote command. I've never noticed this in 20 years of Cakewalk life. In this case, midi data is being transmitted to sonar that can only be measured with an external midi controller?
  9. Hmm, sometimes Cakewalk/Sonar is really merciless... it just doesn't want to (special) copy my clip editor labels or include them in the template. Bad luck again. I already suspect there won't be a solution for this πŸ™ˆ
  10. Exactly, track templates - but I copy the VST envelopes of the soft synth from one project to another
  11. Thx for the hint - The concept is unusual but not bad - let's see if I can handle it. I think the CC indicator bar is really cool.
  12. Hm, ...? Something went wrong
  13. Hi, just as Amberwolf said... why not 1,2,3 or 4 measures back? In Cakewalk by BandLab (formerly Sonar), the keyboard shortcut to move the playhead back one measure is Ctrl+PgUp. To move forward one measure, you can use Ctrl+PgDn. You can also use the left and right cursor keys to move by measure.
  14. Hmm, sometimes Cakewalk/Sonar is really merciless... it just doesn't want to (special) copy my "Clip Editor envelope-labels" (containing information of CC and Channel) or include them in the template. Bad luck again. I already suspect there won't be a solution for this πŸ™ˆ
  15. It is available on their Discord Website, but it was a dissapointing show up... As far as I can see "PizMidi Monitor" has best options: https://thepiz.org/plugins/?p=midiMonitor Resizable, scrolling midi monitor. Change background colors to your liking. Optionally shows raw MIDI byte data. Can save log as text or midi file. 64-Bit
  16. And as I see it only works on oddamn 32-bit(ch) and ahhh πŸ˜—it has to be started in BitBridge mode to be able to open two instances. There is another (Free) VST-Monitor from AIXDSP, but I'm not able to download it, hmm?
  17. @Amberwolf okay, the tutorial will take some time, but I'm already working on it... There is a lot of syncronized movement going on in Sonar when switching my "Volume slider" (CC27 - Chn7) on my virtual MIDI Controller all syncronized Sonar Mai-25.mp4
  18. Hi and Hello, there are ten thousand VST plugins, but I'm having trouble finding a really good VST3 MIDI Monitor. I've been using Cescato's VST2 for years inside of Cakewalk Sonar (see photo). I can open two instances simultaneously in FL Studio, but not in Sonar at the moment... Does anyone know of an even better one? MIDI OX is fantastic, but unfortunately, it's not a VST...
  19. I can't repeat it enough... editing Sonar Remote CTRL is very inconvenient. I've currently found a way to have a MIDI monitor display all the movements of my CC CTRL MIDI device, which is linked to envelope assignments. This way, I can quickly see the current assignment without having to look in the Remote window.
  20. The Melda Prod plug-ins have a MIDI map, allowing you to work in great detail. I'll take the liberty of showing you a photo as an example.
  21. maybe it would be time to program something like a *cwp VIEWER so that we can see all the data of a certain project at a glance 🧐 (how many MIDI tracks, how many samples, all remote assignments, etc) got no idea, how many information is stored in a CWP
  22. Is the remote control data stored in a project within a *.cwp file or can it be edited or processed outside of it? The data is bound to the VST informations, right? In this configuration: CC 56 on MIDI Chn-7 is assigned to Z3TA+2 OSC4 Selfsync
  23. It often happens to me that when I'm finished editing, I don't remember when I last saved. If I see it was half an hour ago, I'd save, but if it was only eight minutes ago, maybe not yet...
  24. Hey Great! This actually works! I can live with the fact that the remote assignments aren't transferred, but it saves me a tremendous amount of work and also changes my workflow. Sonar and its MIDI capabilities are truly a powerful tool. Thanks for the inspiration.
  25. It would be really great if you could mark and copy the contents of this window...
