No audio playback with SI-Drum Kit 1
57Gregy replied to Daniel Newman's topic in Cakewalk by BandLab
How did you 'lay down' data/notes in the MIDI track? -
Considering your name, I expected something made from wood.

How do I use a MIDI plugin with a VST? Is it possible?
57Gregy replied to Laurence Levin's topic in Cakewalk by BandLab
I think you can also right-click on a SIT clip and get the Insert MIDI FX menu. Discovered that from another thread about 'why a MIDI track gets bigger' or something like that from a few weeks ago. -
So, if all you need is satisfaction, maybe you could work on one of my songs? ? Bog knows they need "sound good".

Try the Q and A section at the top of this forum. I'm pretty sure the FAQ are read only.

Here's another one: I can't seem to make any new music, so I'm working on their videos.

That should really get you in the groove.

CbB Export Busses to BandLab including Master buss
57Gregy replied to Fred's Gratis Scores's topic in Cakewalk by BandLab
There aren't many folks here who use Bandlab. This is mainly a forum for the DAW Cakewalk By Bandlab (CbB). But, if you can let us know what your export options are or provide a pic of that screen, maybe someone will come up with something that helps. -
? Yeah, that's TJ Young, the grandson. He does get into it.

This is my room mate's grandson's band Inanimus. I recorded it in January using the aforementioned Samsung video camera. About 10 minutes. I think it's 2 songs, but it's hard to tell. WARNING: Screamage abounds. If someone could relate the process for embedding the video instead of just the link I would appreciate it. Hmm. Embedded by itself. Welcome to the 21st century, Greg. Oh, the videographer is a rookie.

Recommendation please: A good camera for live performance.
57Gregy replied to Notes_Norton's topic in The Coffee House
And I'm sure you both have phones? Set them both up from different angles then use a video editor to stitch them together. A few years ago I bought a Samsung HD video camera for $89 at WalMart*. It works great! It's about the size of a cell phone. It came with the editing software so al I have to do is plug it into the computer and edit. -
Interesting DAW Testing Results: And the winner is.....

It can't hurt. Glad you're back, Bill! -
Storm Chasers Check In! (This means you Bill!)

Except his master bedroom is now in Tennessee. An old girlfriend of mine lives in Lake Charles. Haven't heard from her, yet. -
Thanks. I realize I'm about 15 years behind, but I got it from the SHS 6 Help: MIDI Effects (MIDI Plug-ins) SONAR provides the ability to use plug-in MIDI effects. Using plug-in effects is similar to using the MIDI processing commands off-line. The overall procedure is as follows: ⦁ Select the MIDI data to be affected. ⦁ Choose the effect you want from the Process-MIDI Effects menu or from the popup menu's MIDI Effects menu. ⦁ Set effect parameters (or select a preset if you've made one for this purpose). ⦁ Click Audition to preview the music with the effect applied. ⦁ Click OK to apply the effect to the selected MIDI data. If you're not happy with the result, choose Edit-Undo before doing any additional work. MIDI effects can be applied to whole or partial clips. For example, you can apply an echo to just one note. MIDI effects can also be applied to MIDI tracks in real time (during playback) in the Track and Console views. Unlike any of the processing described so far, using effects in real time is non-destructive. This means that the MIDI data itself is not modified. Note: Offline effects may cause your MIDI events to grow in size. For example, when you apply echo, the clip may need to grow to accommodate the tail end of the echo. Note: Offline effects may cause your MIDI events to grow in size. For example, when you apply echo, the clip may need to grow to accommodate the tail end of the echo. I assume that if you have an effect in a MIDI track and are playing it through a soft synth, that would extend the clip. One of these days I'm going to start using CbB so any info I put here might be relevant. ?

Well, I may have misled you. In SONAR, it was under Options>Audio but I can't find that in Cakewalk by Bandlab's Preferences. They may call it something else?
-
If you have 'Play Effects Tails On Stop" enabled, that will cause a clip to lengthen when bounced or exported.

S.L.I.P. comes through again!

Help! - Bounce to clips is acting wierd!
57Gregy replied to Psalmist35's topic in Cakewalk by BandLab
Hey, Rich. Welcome back. I can't help with your problem (still using SHS 6 mostly), just wanted to say hello. I assume you're referring to the apparently louder bounce? -
Maybe to keep posters from trying to cadge some free legal advice. ?
-
No, but he often writes "I am not a lawyer" in his posts. ?
-
I've been dreaming of the multi-million dollar judgement I wouldn't get! Where's Slartabartfast when you need him? I know he's "not a lawyer", but he sure knows a lot about copyrights.

Well, if you're using ASIO4All, don't. Focusrite has their own driver for the Scarlett, so use that, unless you previously had problems with it. Uninstall ASIO4All first.
