I still have my full range, and I sing to the top, but not all song, every song. If you sing properly, you can sing at the top all night. Opera singers do it all the time. But opera singers are taught proper breath support and how to sing with a relaxed larynx.

Running Bear — Johnny Preston (I don't like the song, so you don't get a video. If curious, search at your own risk).

There are a couple of reasons why so many can't sing anymore: 1) They never learned how to properly breathe. You don't need lessons to sing, so many breathe with their chest instead of diaphragm/belly, don't keep their abdomen muscles tense for breath support, but instead put the tension in their vocal cords. 2) You have to keep on doing it. Not just when you do a tour, but at least a few times per week for a couple of hours. It'd be like deciding to go to a weight lifting competition, when you haven't lifted for 6 months or more. Muscles and flesh need to be constantly kept in shape. I'm in the geezer stage of life, but I am singing better than ever. Why? I'm still gigging for a living, so I do it almost every week, all year long. Plus, I learned how to breathe/sing properly. The breathing is the same for saxophone, and the relaxing of the throat came from the advice of someone who did have lessons.

Beyond The Sea — Bobby Darin We learned this one for a club owner. It's old-school fun to sing.

I don't go to rock concerts at all anymore. I go to the Symphony, if it's one I like and to jazz clubs. But after making a living playing rock for decade after decade, I want to hear something that I can't cover (symphony) or something that will surprise me (jazz improvs). What gets under my skin the most is tribute bands getting big ticket prices. In cover bands, we did everybody and worked in bars for whatever they pay (never enough). This band decides to do nothing but _____ songs and gets big bucks???????? ♫ Insights and incites by Notes ♫

Very few artists make over a billion dollars and can afford to do that. The labels are in the business of exploiting the artist. Very few go 'viral' enough to get rich. That's why there are so many one-hit wonders. But we do it because it's our passion.

I guess we don't need a video, just a title (until, hopefully, it gets fixed). Video Killed The Radio Star — Buggles

And we don't need no steenkeeng pedals either

No luck today. I tried shouting great obscenities at it, but in my experience, if that doesn't work, call a pro.
