Tuesday Afternoon - Moody Blues

Video killed the radio star. As much as I love the videos, the pictures became more important than the music, which lead to some very sexy people who can't sing becoming superstars. So it had its good and bad side. Some ugly people can make great music, too.

Hard to say, since there are so many genres. Beethoven symphonies #4 and #7 by the Cleveland Orchestra, George Szell conducting. I can't find this one on YouTube, but it's my two favorite Beetoven Symphonies and a great interpretation. OR.. When I was a young student, playing in the beginning band, and not very wise about jazz yet, I walked into a record store and asked for a saxophone record. The owner suggested Focus, by Stan Getz. I wore out 3 LPs, and have it on CD. It was over my head then, but as I grew, so did my appreciation. The entire sax performance is an improvisation over the orchestrated background. How about a Gino Vanelli LP with a little symphony in the middle? or: Breakfast In America - Supertramp Time Out - Dave Brubeck Quartet Yes anyone? Aqualung - Jethro Tull I like this one better than Aja Manhattan Transfer - Extensions I could go on and on

Usually, when that happens, the brand is ruined. I hope this is an exception to that rule.

The last TV show I watched was Jay Leno's first “Tonight” show. And I had to go to my mother-in-law's to see it. So they don't lie to me. I depend on the Internet for the lies.
