Plugin Boutique June Freebie - Presonus Fat Channel XT
Brian Walton replied to Larry Shelby's topic in Deals
I would be all over that if it didn't require full Kontakt. Will keep it as an option though if nothing else pops up. -

Thanks for the confirmation, any idea how many authorizations (computers) this thing allows? -

I like TBProAudio but having some UI problems with this one out of the gate in Cakewalk (don't have this issue of lack of meters or cut off text in their other products)

Costs too much for me to upgrade (which is what I anticipated they would do after putting it on Sale and Allowing it to be used with Vouchers) but I'm not sure it is worse than WAVES. Did anyone ever actually pay full price for this at PA (without a voucher or extra opportunity discount)? Seems pretty unlikley. Those that bought it straight from GP, likely already paid a premium price. It isn't like you could have purchased v3 for $25 out of pocket like some were able to though PA. Comparing to WAVES is unfair, when has WAVES ever had a real upgrade to a product like this? (until they drop the price or add the option to run the thing as a VST3, I won't be interested. This thing needs to be able to run both stand alone and to pull up those same interface/settings within a DAW itself as a VST)

Cakewalk by Bandlab is the only DAW I use....and have used production version of Scaler 2 since the day it dropped. I've seen a few bugs for sure, but as long as I save often, I have no issue using it really. This is the forum I'd suggest not PIB https://forum.scalerplugin.com/c/general/8

I think this is what we are looking for
-
So your plugins are up-to-date in terms of features. Therefore you are planning on giving them more money just for the fun of it, or becuase they are so bug infested you need to pay for the support and keep that current? Just asking
-
Sounds like something you should post on their forum to try to get customer support on instead of giving up on it. It isnt' the most stable VST I've ever used (haven't gotten to test the update yet), but certainly never had problems like that. I think it is an amazing tool.

Amazon brand guitar strings? Whats next, AMZ DAW?
Brian Walton replied to Clovis Ramsay's topic in The Coffee House
There are actually only a few string makers, most are just re-branded. -
Free update for those that have Scaler 2. Discount for thsoe that don't. https://www.pluginboutique.com/product/3-Studio-Tools/93-Music-Theory-Tools/6439-Scaler-2?utm_campaign=384132_PB - Midweek NL - 26-05-2021&utm_medium=email&utm_source=Newsletter&dm_i=6D39,88EC,102YK4,YR5W,1

Incorrect. You just can't get the dynamic discounts applied to that particular plugin at the reduced price.

Good point, the most recent email itself even has conflicting info...both quotes in the same email. I had not caught the 29th previously so it seems inevitable that it will expire on the 29th and we will see a Memoral Day weekend sale or something like that. (May 29 - 11:59 PM California Time) It expires at the end of this month.
-
Not for this one, but I have to imagine I'd love one for the inevitable sale before the end of the month they will run on something else at a more reasonable price point. ?
-
Ugh, anyone know how to remove a freebie from my PB account? ?

The Turbo Reverb (even the LE version) is pretty crazy in the number of options it provides and I find the sound quality to be top notch for an Algo verb. As for the keep the value proposition. This is true as long as you plan on keeping them. If you plan to sell them, perhpas not so much as I think the transfer fee is something like 20% of current full retail, which can make the more expensive plugs (like the Turbos) rather difficult to "sell" As for me, I plan on keeping them and appreciate the free updates and continual improvements. Looking forward to the Version 15 offiical release.

Including the ones already officially endorced by Ampeg (Brainworx/UAD/Plugin Alliance)

Don't they have a trial version?

NoRNet Plugins on sale but one especially interesting
Brian Walton replied to Marc Cormier's topic in Deals
I didn't even know Hornet made a plugin that expensive! ? -
This plug could benefit from a scalable UI. Can't even imagine the 4K monitor users with this one. (i've seen worse of course) Didn't show up in the screen shot, but when you move knobs you get text in the "slope" area that is really hard to read even at 1920x1080

It seems to me most of them that really have that kind of functionality are using Melodyne in the background to do it. Ex - tempo mapping from an audio file in Cakewalk, Audio to MIDI in Cakewalk both require Melodyne to be installed to work.

Even as an owner of only one ilok, I also think this is pretty lame. I thought about getting a second so I could just have the two physical iloks but the practice of this one manufacture was my hold up. Basically never even use Studio 4 as it is anyway but I like to think I'd have the ability to use it when I want to regardless of the compuer. Also annoying that you can't have 4 and 5 simultaneiously installed on one computer even if you have two seperate seats for each product. Say Essential 5 and Stuido 4.

I saw that too, but also wondering if I'd ever use it as an owner of MAutodynamicEQ or Toneboosters 4EQ. Seems like a great price for something in a similar catergory, and it doesnt' really get much better than Hornet's authorization scheme. -
Melda Drum Empire for MDrummer or MSoundFactory
Brian Walton replied to Larry Shelby's topic in Deals
My understanding of this is the LE and Free Owners basically have no reason do download it unless a 3rd party developer uses those sounds in the instruments they create. They are basically not really used in the LE provided instruments. While they are available, they can't be tapped into in those versions to actually use unless someone uses them as part of an instrument library at the "developer" level. -
Lets not forget the Lindal Audio 80 for Plugin Alliance.
