  1. What you have never released a 96khz MP3 of a 2 minute single on floppy before? You haven't lived! (I have a box of floppy drives around, digging the computer out of a closet that could actually read them would be the trouble).
  2. I thought the same, and oddly USB or SD cards were mysteriously missing, which I've actually seen used a couple times.
  3. Free Pink Floyd is a worthy deal....other bands, not so much.
  4. Anyone see any updates on this, thought today was the drop date?
  5. Many emulations (or approximations) are built on principals surrounding replicationg circuit diagrams and what a circuit is doing. Not much different than someone making a "clone" of a guitar amp by following a schematic and using parts within a certain tollerance. It will sound similar but not 100% identical as it needs adjustment based on how the parts work together and component variations. You are correct that a little one-man shop like this isn't actually going to be doing A/B testing with the real thing but it isn't unrealistic to expect there are some documentation and diagrams to get the general idea of it.
  6. Plus the bugs that were rather common a few years ago. My impression has been that has been sorted out and he is making some good stuff now. That said, with the other options I have and the non-resizing interfaces they don't get much use on my end either. If I didn't have a collection of plugins with reasonable authorization systems/amounts then I'd certainly be all over the AO freebies.
  7. That doesn't sound right at all. For the freebies, I just went to this URL: And then for any that are availalbe you click the red button, takes you to a page where there is a drop down. After you make your selectiosn and confirm, go back to the Install Manager and Custom Shop and "refresh purchases" in the upper right: https://www.ikmultimedia.com/userarea/promotions/ The only time I had to enter a serial number was during the Buy In itself.
  8. Yeah, except for the fact the post has nothing to do with a deal and started a thread about it, instead of a comment related to the actual instacomposer deal thread that is alive and well. We bring out the pitch forks for duplicate deal threads, this kind of thread shouldn't be encouraged in this area - but respectivly moved elsewhere. While it is a sub forum under the Coffee House, many of us have complained about that status and placement. King Larry and his loyal followers should have their own section.
  9. You can eliminate Tape 440 and 99 I think. I think you will find the other two are the highest recommended options. 24 for cleaner with 80 for the bit more character - take em for a spin, I really do like the sound of both, but hate the CPU hit. Not a huge fan of the X-Distortion, but if working all in the AT platform nice to have on hand, personally expected a little more "boutique" offerings in this one that just revised versions of classics where you can buy the real thing for less than $50. But X-Space seems to be the only real option for high grade reverb within the loop in Amplitube, and to a lesser extent I'd say X-Time is the same sort of play. (though I have to say, for the in the room style reverb, adding Sunset Sound Reverb after AT5 sounds amazing - and I'd be using X-Space more for "effect" reverb. I do like X-Vibe to, but might feel redundant (though they absolutly sound different) as you do get a quite of few Modulation effects if you own AT5 with a bunch of the expansions already. I fully agree, you are in a tough choice spot.
  10. I have 3 products left that I can pick, but at least 10 that I could choose from. But I feel crippled in my ability to do so after Larry's warning not to make selections till the very end....eventhough Peter indicated no new additions are planned... Also using a $200 tier selection on a $25 or less item is giving me anxiety. ? ?
  11. In terms of the group buy, my understanding is it isn't an option for anything other than the smaller subsets.
  12. Wrong forum? This is Cakewalk by Bandlab delas section.
  13. Loving the sound of the kit in the demo videos. Requires full Kontakt is a non-starter for me currenlty.
  14. Bought in 4 times and I'll still be missing something like 5 pieces of gear after using them all.
  15. I believe you are correct. If you are in at the 99 tier you can grab the entire collection but the individual pieces were not added at the 49 or 79 level. What they did was add items that were in the MAX collection but not available in any other package.
  16. Peter made this post along those lines, and he would know better than anyone else
  17. It depends if it is part of another package, then it can happen. Overall though, with the drowndown list in a view like this, it won't let you select individual products you selected already. As mentioned in another post, it isn't fool proof though, but in terms of this particular example it could fit into an odd area. I for example have The Deluxe Upgrade, and therefore can't select it, but I can select the Cross Grade (as it is a seperate but overlapping product from what I own)
  18. And since you can't select a product as a freebie that you already own, I'm guessing you have to sell the old one before you could actually select it, might want to check your account.
  19. You can't fully trust the drop downs or the website. If you have say Dyna-Mu from one of the T-Racks Packages, Dyna-Mu will still show up as an option for a freebie for you in the drop down and on the website. Synths are out of control like this. So there are many potential pit falls unless you really know what you have and want.
  20. I was there obviously mid week, mid day and saw no less than 6 staff members, and I might have been the only customer. No clue how they are still in business. The IKM filled checkout counter (both in display cases and on the wall pegs) used to host a plethora of mics and recording interfaces by numerious brands. (BTW, the website should tell you if something is avaialbe for pickup at a particular location. No need to deal with the call in hassle, just order online and wait for confirmation the item is ready to pickup).
  21. They are $150 each for the software version.
  22. I went to guitar center for the first time in at least 5 years to do the 4th GB buy in thanks to the hardware addition. The kiosk at the front of the store was basically all IKM products, I was shocked to see this. But the stunned look on my face only continued as I brought up the group buy to the sales associates of which none of them had a clue what I was talking about. If I worked there you can be certain I'd be selling that stuff like hot cakes with the promise of buy this and get a whole mess of software for free. I realize GC associates get a bad rap, but this makes me wonder how information is being provided at the corporate level. Point being I agree 25k should have been hit a long time ago but seems like all the available spread the word channels were perhaps underperforming.
  23. Speaking of the Looper in Amplitube. I assume the Looper doesn't show up in the VST version for other people also and is simply a funciton of the standalone? It would be nice to experiment with that Amplitube's version itself inside a DAW providing other VST tracks one might want to use along side it.
  24. That makes sense due to the previous purchaes. I've bought in 4 times now and I haven't done the math on the smaller items, but I'm expecting I'll actually use all of them. Before the GB started I had Modo Drum SE, Bass CE, Mirsolav SE, 670, Black, Clipper, Equal, One, OxA, Amp Metal, Amp SVX, Tape Echo, Memory V, Hitmaker, Fender 2, Tape 24, Cinematic Percussion, Art Deco. It is pretty crazy that a 4 times buy in (Nearly 100 products worth - some of which are "packages" of multiple products) along will all that previusly owned gear is what it took to get basically everything they make (before these new - not part of the GB products are released). Edit: Confirmed - I still won't have everything unless they add in more freebies beyond the stated top tier. All that "Max AT stuff" will nickel and dime selections.
