  1. I was going to say: download the demo and try it to see if it's worth for you. Unfortunately, I checked, and there is no demo. ? I guess you have to go on faith then. Since AT4, IK spent a lot of time developing an improved cabinet emulation technology and redid all the cabinet responses of all their cabinets (except a few that were badly ruined in a flood). They even created a special machine to automatically create a ton of IRs with different microphones, position and angles. Now its up to you to decide if you think all that work did improve the sound quality enough and if it is relevant for you. It truly depends on how much you use Amplitube and if it would make enough of a difference for you or you are happy with the AT4 technology. You can watch a video about VIR here:
  2. I'm sure it is. I was of course not serious speculating IK toying with us.
  3. Yes I have seen the counters go back and forth a few times. I blame the page's refresh code for this... or someone at IK toying with us! ?If the later, I can't blame him and he must have such a grin! But no, Peter wouldn't do that to us... right? ? Even if it would be hilarious. ?
  4. I clicked and got it... for a second time. ? Didn't check if I already had it. This is fatter than I can take! Don't know what I will do with this much fat.
  5. The Lurssen Mastering Console is just $10 more than AT5SE and would get me AT5SE and more. Surely worth the extra $10.
  6. They will go away a month after the end of the GB, no? Not that it's any consolation...
  7. Cool! I tried adding it to my cart and got the same promo code. I don't understand the concept. Wouldn't be a good idea to advertize this ahead of time?!? When you have it in your cart, you usually have already decided you are willing to pay the price. If it were advertised wouldn't it entice more people to buy it? Confused....
  8. Ok, let's say, totally hypothetical, that I know someone who knows someone that had bought IK products in the past so was already in crossgrade territory, got in the group buy at the $99 level and is getting free products at $99 and below. He is now thinking of getting AT5SE because he already bought AT4 and has enough collections already, including the ones he'll get with the group buy. Is there a better way to do this than simply buy AT5SE and then pick and choose more stuff in the $149 and below range? As I said, totally hypothetical of course...
  9. You realize how much my brain is hurting after reading the last 3 pages.... ?
  10. One just a few minutes drive from my home actually! It shows how much I should get out more. ? But I was mostly thinking about the many eons ago when I looked at hardware instead of plugins...
  11. That one is also going to be in my choices. Mainly because I owned a Rockman when they came out. I sold it when I upgraded to the rackmount Rockman Sustainer which I still have but not in working order unfortunatly. Trivia: all the guitar tracks on the best selling album Hysteria from Def Leppard where all tracked using a Rockman direct in the console!
  12. I had never tried an Orange amp before. I am not sure they where in stores here in Canada or at least didn't notice them. My first encounter with Orange was a few months ago when IK gave away the Tiny Terror. That was truly an eye opener, or more an ear opener, for me. Love it. The Orange collection will be in my GB picks for sure.
  13. Yes you can, that is what I am contemplating myself. From the bottom of the group buy page:
  14. I predict we will see you in the group buy then! ? Not that any of my prediction ever came through though.... ?
  15. I agree. But in your case, buying AT5SE brings all the new feature and ALL the amps you already have with AT4MAX into the new environment. Your amps are upgraded and your cabinet are also upgraded. AT5SE is a little over a third of the price of AT5MAX. IIRC, AT5SE was especially created for those who have all they need gear wise in AT4 and want to bring everything into the 5 environment. So the path for AT4MAX owner is more AT4MAX to AT5SE or AT5 if you want the new amps in there. To me the user interface of 5 is a big step ahead of 4. I also use AT5CS like you and have bought AT4 (not max) plus a few collections including both SVX in the past. I am a guitar player but use the SVX stuff for my band's bass player tracks. I would love to tell you that it's worth it to go to AT5SE but haven't jumped yet.
  16. ... and access to the mixer section which you have lost from AT4 going to AT5CS.
  17. If I already have the gear I need through having AT4 and collections, is there any incentive in getting AT5 over AT5SE functionality wise? Apart from AT5 having more gear, anything else added over AT5SE? I have been using AT5CS for a while and miss not having access to VIR and the mixer, so thought ATSE would be enough?
  18. They are already there, check your account under promotions. You will see all 3 of them. Click on 'available' and choose your free product... 3 times! Edit: oops, didn't see this was already answered before posting...
  19. Yes, totally free, no strings attached. You can elect to donate through Patreon, but it's completely voluntary.
  20. That's what I meant by 'cabinet technology'. Is it also different for the amps and other gear sound? I thought these where upgraded in CS...
  21. You realise that the free version does not have the new cabinet technology? If you have only been playing with AT5 and not AT5CS you might not have had a chance to hear the difference. I am still using AT5CS at the moment and I would upgrade to AT5SE to get that.
