What you played was good, I was talking about tonality. Everyone's taste is different though, so take my comment as lightly as you want 🙂
  2. Another great track Nigel. Again, the drums are top notch.

Gotta agree with others, that bass is fantastic. Works well with the drums, although the kick might need some fine tuning. Nice job. Guitar is spot on too.
  4. Really nicely done - everything, all the instruments and the vocals. Classy. What did you use for mandolin and banjo.
  5. Hi Bjorn, love the sound of that verby violin and the dissonance it creates at times. Piano synth is nice too.
  6. At long last, the Horse Latitudes album has been remastered for 2025 and is available (for your listening pleasure or you can buy it as well - $7 - cheap!). https://baselines.com/?p=7430 Thanks for always listening to my stuff, I really appreciate it. Steve
  7. Thanks for listening Nigel! I was happy that Michelle put real trombone on there. Really adds something I think!
  8. Hi Bjorn thank you. I hadn’t really thought about the music being upbeat. But I am now. Thank you for the input. I figured the minor key would do it, but maybe it needs more. steve
  9. Thank you Treesha. Your comment meant a lot to me. Steve
  10. Michele Fortunato from Bandlab added the trombone (a real instrument) over the rest of the midi horns in the middle, accompanied by a couple of Ukulele tracks. https://baselines.com/?p=7426
  11. Well, I decided to sing this one myself (maybe not my best decision ever LOL) - But it sounds OK to me, and more of what I had in mind. Darren Garrett still does the Choir vocals at the end. https://baselines.com/?p=7422
  12. My worst nightmare involves me being sloppy on the table saw. It's a fear that amplifies as I get older. Congrats on winning the battle and continuing on. I like your song, sounds really nice. Keep on keeping on!
  13. This would sound great on those large movie theater speakers. I actually helped install some of those at a local theater ( I would never climb those ladders now). There were four huge speakers around the theatre and one even bigger one right behind the screen. This would blow you back in your seat if it was played on a system like that! Steve
  14. Nice. Sounds really well put together. What do you use for the kick? I like the percussion rhythms and the tinkling keys. The verb effect on the vocal in the middle there is nice. I like the vocals a lot. Steve
  15. Hey thanks! I appreciate the nice comment. Steve
  16. Thanks Nigel - nobody has commented on this yet, but I was hoping somebody would catch it - the ending of the song, the strings do a minor version of Adestes Fidelis. (Oh come let us adore him). Yes, I'm going to Hell for sure.
  17. Hi! Yeah I imagine it's different now. This vignette was from an experience in 1978, at a hospital that is no longer in existence. Things change, sometimes for the worse. I'm not sure anyplace is truly quiet anymore. Thanks for dropping a comment, and hope you are doing well.
  18. Short and simple is not a bad thing. This song sounds great. Like the vocal harmonies, what are those, 4ths? Nice vocal. Really well done, I love it.
  19. Thanks a lot Nigel! It's probably not a subject that's going to end up in a top 40 song, but it doesn't matter in the long run....what comes out, comes out. Steve
  20. A beautiful song. Again the excellent drum sound. Do you know the people in your videos? Steve
  21. I like those delays, then the break about a minute in is really creative. Nice work!
