  1. I'm still using a Quad Capture on my laptop and the ASIO drivers work fine with both Win10 & 11 & CbB. FWIW.
  2. For a windows PC wavosaur is free. If you don't mind paying Sound Forge is pretty good.
  3. I agree. I think the pedal is nice if you're playing live and want to ditch the amp or add a couple channels to an amp. What it does it does well and at a good price point, but in my home studio I prefer to use modelers.
  4. I tend to avoid wifi & bluetooth - there's also Duet, it looks like that works with wifi. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_oqSRSweDYI
  5. I haven't tried it, but I ran across Splashtop recently. https://www.splashtop.com/wiredxdisplay It looks like it lets you use the ipad as a second monitor, but you have the touch screen capabilities. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=71FxkpIKqsM
  6. What you write doesn't make sense. I will point out that the scarlett 2i2 has direct mointor. That lets you hear what's going into the IF, but not what's recorded. make sure direct monitor is disabled.

  8. First thing is what is acceptable latency? If you have an electric instrument how far away from the speaker can you sit and play? 10 feet? 20 feet? Each foot is close to a millisecond delay. If you can sit 16 feet away from a speaker and play then a 16 millisecond delay is acceptable to you. You should be able to look in edit -> preferences in the audio driver section and see what the reported round trip latency is. Is it less than or equal to what is acceptable to you? If so, you should be able to create a click track and record to that. Start with a blank project and create a click track, don't use any fx and try playing and recording to the click track. Does that work?
  9. Have you optimized it for audio? https://www.sweetwater.com/sweetcare/articles/pc-optimization-guide-for-windows-10/

    Piano-In-Blue $49

Is this significantly better than The Grandeur in Kontakt?
  11. RU inserting Z3ta+ (Z3ta+_fx) from Audio FX?
  12. Sweetwater has the Kurzweil KM-88 for $350. I'm not a keyboardist, but the action feels nice to me - it has hammer action. It's minimalist, lacking any display, but has both midi and usb out. At this price I couldn't say no. https://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/KM88--kurzweil-km88-88-key-controller
  13. Most virtual instruments are played with MIDI. Are you recording the MIDI track?
  14. I think you should use the right tool for the job. If all you want is a simple recorder this is the wrong app. You may be better served by voice/sound recorder or something similar. I'm sure there are very simple recording apps out there. CbB is not only a recording console it has some fx units and instruments as well. Kind of like having a recording studio.
  15. That will depend on how your drives are organized. I don't know windows internals, but I would think files get indexed when they're created or modified. If you only have system files on the C drive then it probably doesn't matter.
  16. NP. I turn off indexing on all drives. I don't mind if searches take a bit longer if my audio is snappy.

  18. Another option is HW. Instruments like tr 808 or playing a moog with a sequencer isn't the same using a mouse or keyboard, although with quantization a person can probably get close with a keyboard. I picked up an SQ 64 last year while they were on sale. When I have some sequences I like I record them into CbB.
  19. I don't remember off the top of my head. Are you using the right input? There are two midi inputs IIRC.
  20. That's good to hear. It's not a big deal, but I have an audio I/F on a couple machines, and I have a Boss SY-1000 connected to them. When I'm just practicing/noodling around on guitar I often use the SY-1000 as an I/F and find myself switching between the two.
  21. That should be OK. I used a 10 year old laptop, but replaced it last year. I could easily get 20 or more tracks recorded. I didn't watch the video you posted. It should be fine. You can look through this as well. https://www.sweetwater.com/sweetcare/articles/pc-optimization-guide-for-windows-10/ Did you install the ASIO driver for your IF? Are you using it? Did you try different USB ports? I got an MSI gaming laptop last year. https://www.msi.com/Laptop/Crosshair-15-A11UX/ That screams. Now I'm about ready to upgrade my DAW. Also, make sure you don't have any browsers open and try turning on airplane mode.
  22. If you're going into an amp sim turn down the output volume of the sim.
