Tooltips requiring disable / enable every time I start Sonar
Jim Fogle replied to Steve Moddelmog's topic in Cakewalk Sonar

Hello @Metalhawk, You may not be aware that development of Cakewalk by Bandlab, or CbB for short, has stopped. This was announced June, 2023 +++ HERE +++. The same announcement introduced two new DAWs, Next and Sonar. Next is a new DAW that is available on both Windows and Macintosh operating systems. Sonar continues the development of CbB under a new brand name. Both Next and Sonar are available with a monthly or annual subscription to Bandlab. Sonar release 2024.08 includes many enhancements to reduce latency. You may want to download a trial of Sonar and see if it resolves the issue. If not, then you may want to create a post describing the issue in the Cakewalk Sonar section of the forum.

I haven't seen a post by Steve in a long time. I looked up his profile and he last posted in September, 2023. He is a great forum asset and very much missed. Anyone know what's going on and provide an update?

Great suggestion. I'd love to see it implemented. Enlarge Time Ruler Numerals has been suggested before. Obviously it's time to make the suggestion again!

Nice cover. I like the arrangement. Your vocal matches the song well but is a little buried in the mix in a few places.

I missed the first post of the song. I like the song, I like the video. Nothing negative to say (which is unusual for me ) I do have some questions though, who did the drum track and was it recorded live, using midi and samples or by using a drum program like EZ Drummer or Addictive Drums? The vocal call and response harmonies are excellent. Really enjoyed listening to the music and hearing the acoustic guitar runs. I would have never guessed this was the first video you published. How impressed was I by the song and video? I subscribed to your YouTube channel.

Cakewalk saying I need to reactivate before 12 days
Jim Fogle replied to JeffSouth's topic in Cakewalk by BandLab
@JeffSouth, sorry to be picky but Reaper is not free. Per the +++ website +++ -
@Noel Borthwick, @Morten Saether, @Jesse Jost, @msmcleod The MIDI Association had a meeting with DAW developers from May 13 to 16, 20 in Germany just prior to Superbooth 2024. The MIDI Association requested the meetings to receive feedback and have conversations with DAW developers about MIDI 2.0 implementations. This video announces the meeting and gives the name of some developers that participated in the meetings. Unfortunately I didn't hear anything about Cakewalk or Bandlab. Did anyone from Cakewalk or Bandlab participant?

@Sal Sorice, Thanks for pointing out my spelling error. I've corrected Mike's name in my initial post. I agree that Mike creates great tutorials.

Mike Enjo with Creative Sauce demonstrates some nifty things you can do as you use a track's "freeze" button.

Glenn, do you mean backwards compatibility with older software programs that perhaps don't offer ASIO or WASPI compatibility? So your thinking the ASIO driver is likely a wrapper? If so, is there a way for someone to know? I have a utility programming that exposes the individual files in an executable file. I downloaded the Sterling Windows driver package and saw there are 32 and 64 bit WDM & ASIO drivers. The WDM files are about 82K in size while the ASIO files are about 304K. Does that tell of anything?
