    uh oh....

and from a business perspective their success in building a strong subscription model adds another bow in how we grow in the audio creation market.

which is great for me since I wont be buying too much DAW stuff

  2. Well I'm gonna stick to my theory people just aint buying certain stuff anymore no matter what those stats say.    Collecting the "oh but it's awesome eq"  to go with the other 47 I have is now a luxury.   Maybe just maybe I realize I have too much stuff and would take 7 lifetimes to learn how to use any of it.

Then...........I thought about getting Tantra..........BUT I can't get it for $10............THEN I realize I can do the same thing in Live and probably those Cable Guys plugins I haven't used.

Likewise. I have not bought anything since the voucher change. I used to buy a plugin a month on average. Now I used every voucher during this sale except the second $25 voucher, which probably brought my average up to one plugin a month again. Damn you Dirk!

I think a lot of developers are rethinking their strategy these days.   See the recent 8DIO sales?   The world economy is not good right now and even some major retailers had to lay off workers because such things like TVs are now a luxury to upgrade.  Some rethink what the hurt in $10 here or there.   I worry about place like Guitar Center or Sam Ash closing up and also those manufacturers have to limit production because of lack of sales.

The new business model with the vouchers hurt PA.

As are good drums, good guitars, good basses, good pianos,  good electric pianos, good organs, good percussion...I just picked up Xperimenta's harmonium, so good harmoniums.... Yeah,  and I started this year thinking,  I'm not even sure if I should spend another cent on music stuff, that my playing is so poor it was time to throw in the towel. Then I was asked to do a demo for a developer and I'm back to buying stuff.

Eventually it sinks in that the listener who isn't into high fidelity and their only experience in music is listening that these don't matter.  It does only with paying clients. They probably aren't really any different than that listener but believe 2nd hand information.   People will debate all day about having the best is necessary to justify having a 40GB boomwhacker library.

I am running Intro with the ILok software manager that allows you to register it to your drive!! Never had a dongle EVER!!

I've learned the hard it's more convenient to have the dongle.  There's no fun in contacting developers to reset your license.

Poor Avid, I think as much as they don't learn from image-line's excellent free-for-life upgrade commercial policy, they'll end up disappearing in the future...

They still have a large pro user base.

I will probably regret passing on this but I am trying to reign in the gas

How many deals have passed that seem to resurface?  Once in a lifetime deal is now a naive thought.

Hopefully you didn't sleep on yesterday.  Lots of good free options and some all time low prices if you were willing to spend $10.

Not just the PA stuff but getting iZotope Neo for $10 as long as you had the basic everyone gets it loyalty voucher.

Nope I ignored.   Inflation even makes DAW stuff a luxury.    Food and fuel are priorities.  Being a diabetic budget foods like pasta and rice are off the list. I have to search for deals like whole wheat bread, eggs, and poultry products.

If I didn't have Neo which I thought was a bargain at $49 I would have bought it.

Too much stuff on my drive that I might have opened a few times.  I don't even bother with free stuff.  If that would only transfer to avoiding the 9 packs for $9.

Anybody else thinks that development has become slow? For a long time updates have been small bug-fixes, with the ocassional feature. But nothing like the first couple years. Do you think they lost part of their team and this is the new reality? Or maybe they’ve been working on something big for a while, like an engine rewrite?

If you compare it to Reaper yes.  Other DAWs no.

How so? Not a problem from here recently... maybe it's just getting hammered tonight.

The Epic content servers seem to be OK. Downloading a game right now via Epic Games Launcher at my ISP max throughput rate.

No. I always get this incorrect login.  I have to open Epic for it to work.  Plenty of page on Google about this.

    I just checked.

For the library in the OP: Kontakt 5.8.1 Full Retail (or later) Required.

Kontakt full can be installed on 2 or 3 computers.

    https://support.native-instruments.com/hc/en-us/articles/209544789--Installing-Native-Instruments-Products-on-a-New-Computer-

I don’t see any indication that the license for Kontakt Player is any different, even if it’s free.

Note that there’s no actually enforcement of this licensing, so technically, you can install more than the EULA allowed licensed number of instances.

Libraries developed for KONTAKT have no limit.
