  1. Odd I entered my email again and they gave me a 35% off code.  I doubt it would work.

I'm only interested in their Kontakt libraries and the sales are nothing new since I was looking at a couple of Albions.

Seriously, UI is so subjective isn't it. Personally I think there will be some user customization of color coming to new Sonar at some point, but I don't blame them at all for focusing on other things whilst rebuilding the UI engine from the foundations up.

I love LIve for it's 8 bit look.  All of my Magix software that use to be Sony looks like the original.

Maybe its my age but I don't like dark themes

Check your emails as i have received a 10% off loyalty code as well.

Have no clue why I never get those. I have 2 emails and none of that ever shows up.  It's not that spam filter stuff either.

I'm sooo embarrassed to say I just did.  Eventide Blackhole Emmersive - welcome home.  That didn't take long.

I bought it earlier when they have an upgrade deal. Bought Blackhole and then Emmersive.

Now it is really cool but then just like all of this other sound design stuff, now use it in a track,  Well uh no

I subscribed to the EDMprod newsletter a while ago, just to get some freebies, and yesterday I got a newsletter that I wanted to share because it's a good reminder that we shouldn't fall victim to Gear Acquisition Syndrome. I believe that people like us on deals forums are especially prone to GAS, that's why I post it here.
The mail subject was "Stop hoarding, start creating" and I think he put it quite well:

I was aware of these things, but it drives the message home differently when I see it written from someone else, somehow.

BTW the thumbs down is sarcasm on my part.  Like that is nonsense, no way, I don't believe - never tired it.  Oh wait I did back when I had little money.

It seems like my more enjoyment is picking up an instrument and playing it.  No system to boot up, no external gear settings.  Just pick it up and play it.

That is the trap! It's cheap upgrades up to a point, instead of just paying for WUP but then you run out of those options..  and have even more plugins that then might eventually need WUP 🤣

then you just upgrade to the next version until you are stuck with Mercury or what ever it is.  Eventually delete that and go RennMaxx

My Melda, TRacks, Arturia, every plugin not from Waves doesn't need WUP

  8. worst licensing in the industry - unfortunately it seems to be working for them

if you have more than one machine it gets even more confusing

for the Waves apologists I have deaf ears

BTW also check your upgrade pricing as well - seems like there are some good values for plugin noarders

    Never used EastWest libraries.

The system requirement on the JRR site says:

    "SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS

60GB free hard disc space, iLok security key (not provided), either supplied on discs or optional hard drive for ease of installation (see conditions below)."

Is this info outdated, or does it require an iLok key? I do not see this requirement on the EastWest site (unless i'm missing it).

It seems EW is hiding how much disk space is needed these days.  I may be wrong but check their website.

  10. If I was really into Waves I would just do their sub and never deal with WUP.

The thing I don't like with Waves upgrades is they remove the license of the other product.  That's what also makes them unique.

Found the issue.  It was Jbridge.

For AAS plugins in Cakewalk, I have an issue where AAS plugins have an intermittent "click of death" and stops producing sounds.  Freezing and unfreezing gets the sounds back.  Bizarrely,  Jbridge prevents this issue from occurring. (Yes, I know Jbridge is actually for 32bit plugins that don't play nice).

But that is a story for another thread (perhaps).

AAS installers don't give you choice.  They install every plugin format.  I usually have to clean out those Pro Tools format ones.

IMO, that is still a valid system for running CbB and Sonar. One of the Cakewalk devs, Mark MacLeod, uses an i7-3770 system in his studio, as did I up until a couple of years ago.

You will see a HUGE improvement in speed changing your system and programs drive to an SSD.

If your motherboard's BIOS supports booting from them, installing a PCIe NVMe adaptor (they are cheap, under $10 at Amazon) with a 500GB NVMe is the best investment.

When the time comes to build a new system, you can use the NVMe drive in that build, so it's in no way money thrown away.

If your BIOS doesn't support booting from an NVMe, even switching to a SATA SSD will give you a massive speed increase in boot and program loading.

I use Clonezilla for drive cloning.

Regarding Windows 11 compatibility, you have choices. First, there are well-known ways to trick a non-compatible system into upgrading Windows 10 to Windows 11. Second, if you're concerned about security issues, you can keep Windows 10 and use a 3rd-party malware solution.

Too much research for me to grasp these days.  2.5 SSD drive is quick and easy.  They are not as fast but I wouldn't really know since I don't use nvme in an older system.

Watin for MS to rethink W11 with the Tp thing.

If you own Ultimate, it's quite a bit cheaper as a Crossgrade.

I really didn't need to know that.  It's tempting to go along with the other 750 orchestras I have.

I have Ultimate and really can't download the newer stuff I wont use like that bloated ukelele,  Lack of disk space it now turning into a realiy even after deleting libraries I don't use or were free. (that should be the reason to delete all of them).  The other option is to shop for a 4TB SSD.  I'm trying to avoid that.

  14. Either this is false or fixed.

Also should have been posted under the Sample Logic sale.

No validity without a link either.  Some could assume a 3rd party vendor.

Ik multimedia are one of the better companies imo, make some very good plug ins at a decent price, not tried their physical equipment.

Hopefully you just got a dodgy unit and it's not a major manufacturing fault at the factory, that would be a disaster.

    That's their best stuff

I wish I were exaggerating; the full install of Total Studio Max is over 500GB and they shove EVERYTHING into your documents folder (or hidden elsewhere). Support was SO dire I've not bothered installing ANY of the instruments that I paid for on my new Mac. I've installed the T-Racks from the Total Studio MAX bundle, that's it.

At least when I have had issues with Softube and had cause to complain (usually relating to Softube Central) they've given me freebies (plugins) that I wanted and will use and there was ALWAYS the option of downloading what I owned outside of the installer (not the case with IK)........

Even at €99 I won't be upgrading to Total Studio 5 Max.........I never buy Softube unless it's on sale and usually via Plugin Boutique as they give cashback/freebies (also AudioDeluxe) and keep price watches on products I'm interested in.......

You can direct where it installs.

As for the libraries if you don't want to deal with the IK manager to install, just download the files from your account.
