  1. People treat them like religions. Once offended over their choice of DAW they start jihad. It's as bad as a Linux distro forum.
  2. Bitwig is like a subscription. I got the free CM version and I just don't care for it. I also look at the long term cost of having a DAW.
  3. Yes. It caters to the EMD crowd. If the poll were best DAWs for film it wouldn't be up there. I switched to FL when Sonar's GUI was getting cluttered and it was a very different way of doing things. The only Sonar licensed I skipped was 6. When one tries FL's workflow it's not easy after using linear DAWs. I think for a DAW that is free and PC only, #8 is pretty good. Most free DAWs have a history of being limited or totally sucks (PT Free). If I go broke Bandlab and FL are the only two I could use.
  4. I use to have 9 electrics and I'm not really a guitar player. I once met a guy who had 16 tubas and his wife made him get rid of 3.
  5. I like the multi format. One word of warning is if you install all formats you really bloat your drives. When I got the everything bundle I installed Live packs, Battery, Kontakt, and Reason.
  6. https://www.highlifesamples.com/product/vocal-hook-feat-steve-howard/ Check these as well. https://www.highlifesamples.com/product-category/special-offers/
  7. Voyetra DOP was my first DAW. Too bad they got out of the DAW business.
  8. https://www.musicradar.com/news/the-best-daws-2020-the-best-music-production-software-for-pc-and-mac Definitely #1 in best free DAW of the century. This is always the poll where some DAW users get butthurt and suffer insecurity issues. I think we are just happy the Sonar lives and its still developed. Meanwhile FL is still the king and I agree. Odd that I got introduced to FL from my Sonar Home Studio 2002 disk.
  9. These freebies seem to go down hill as of late.
  10. The soundpacks always make it tempting but I have too many synths as it is.
  11. It shows up in both of my accounts.
  12. They gotta make these since the emergence of the SSD market. These would be great for archiving. I'm sure I could come close to filling half of these. PC games are reaching 100GB. Plus those bloated sample libraries, loops, and don't forget those gluttonous Windows OS backups. The only problem with these is if a platter goes bad might as well ditch the whole thing. I still have more confidence in the longevity of a HDD over a SSD.
  13. I never "mess" with them to find out how ignorant they are. It's not a good place to work. It would be a toss up working for them or a carnival if death is not the option. I guess it only attracts people because there isn't a strict dress code. I do my research even before buying from the knowledgeable people from Sweetwater. I know what it's like to have people try to test you knowledge. I had 13 years of optical experience and moved from the lab to the retail floor. (hated it) So this guy asks me about the density of lenses. (no such thing) I said "you mean the refractive index?" He said impolitely, "Forget about it". I really can't stand working anything retail because they are willing to take anyone's money no matter how bad a consumer treats the staff. The customer entitlement mentality was created by companies. They expect two things. 1) Company idolatry. 2) Take anyone's money despite how they treat you. There is a fine line these days as most employers can be reluctant to hire kids these days because they think they can treat anyone like their public school teachers.
  14. Did anyone get their Focusrite/Novation email for Serato Sample LE?
  15. Going against my no more plugin policy(thanks Sid) I decided to only install VST3.
  16. 2 activations - take that Waves.
  17. I never hear anyone talk about them. I still use ST4 SE. I've considered the upgrade to ST4 but it's pretty large. Has anyone ever auditioned all of them and used them. I am referring to the stock library. I've rarely used ST even though I've had a license since its birth. I forget its there.
  18. No. Odd that this one has no authorization. This seems like a useful plugin. I haven't messed with it yet.
  19. Soon they will be like Finale and Bitwig wanting you to pony up every year.
  20. Back to topic - this is their player version. Not a fan.
  21. Odd. My purchases from APD are in my FP account.
