So, I stopping checking to see if the website had been updated a couple of weeks ago. Then today (8/8), I get a email notice of the Summer Sale emphasizing  a CV-3 25% upgrade discount offer.  But for me, it's still $49 to upgrade my CV-1 and CV-2 to CV-3, still $49 to upgrade my EP-4 to EP-5, and still $98 to upgrade both.

Since I already upgraded to the full professional series previously, I still don't get the the $44 Professional Series Offer (nor do I get it using any other of the upgrade / offer buttons.  Guess I should have written them a month ago.  Maybe they fixed the website and I missed it?  Oh well.

    NOPE THEY DIDN[T FIX IT

An excellent choice for people who are afraid of being held hostage economically and of having their software stop working for no good reason!

Seriously, though, I think Macs are great and I wish I could afford one.

Mac minis are probably the best value until Apple decides it's not.

I don't like to be held hostage by hardware.   It's not just Apple doing that either. MS will have to rethink their TMP requirement.  I also had to upgrade a video card just to use Kontakt 7.

  3. I use to buy parts just in case I "ever" wanted to do 200 tracks and a bunch of libraries.

Then there was this sense of reality called "why".  I've never gone that far.

That's the problem with hobbies.  People always buy unnecessary gear.  See how far people go who play golf for fun.  They even have golf balls that are suppose to make your game better.

I've got plenty of "game changing" plugins.

Interesting how PC hardware rarely dies if you built your own systems.

There's a lot of bad and bloated development these days that can bring newer systems to a crawl.

A serious gamer now uses a 2tb OS drive.  So many new games now tip the 100gb scale.

Rebelle just announced yesterday that they are going to the same model that Splat had (1-year window of updates from purchase point). The downside of that model is folks can wait for a feature they actually want before buying in and catch up to everyone else in one go. The bean counters need to get a better grasp on reality sometimes. They almost gave away Rebelle 7 Pro (even to new users) for $30 (normally $149) and seem lost about "what happened??"

A couple problems with that model is developers feel compelled to release "something" each month, and keeping track of who is on what version just becomes a  circus. We all know how that turned out with Splat...

and it's often not quality with those monthly promises

Studio One and Bitwig are annual upgrades.

Acronis went sub only and now offer perpetual again,

One of these days, I'm going to pony up for the Omega bundle.  I'll be done buying libraries then.   Right?

Nope.  Just one more orchestra............or become a collector of brands.  VSL is out of my budget but EW...........
